As mentioned on the forum elsewhere, Vera and John and InterCasino are to leave the UK market. Full details: InterCasino and Vera and John to Exit UK Market
I wonder what the reasons are - over-regulation from the UKGC? Over-taxation? Or some other reason...
It's not over regulation though, it's just that the market is now actually being properly regulated as opposed to the wild west show it used to be.
It may be properly regulated now but the costs are proving to high to the casinos,I can see many more shutting down in the UK
and ultimatly it is going to backfire on the gov and regulators
Would you rather have a bunch of cowboy outfits all over the place?Yes - when theres only a handful of casinos left with no bonuses - like Australia - we can all rejoice right?
Always follow the money - if margins are tight or non-existent then the casino leaves, whatever the underlying reason.I wonder what the reasons are - over-regulation from the UKGC? Over-taxation? Or some other reason...
Having a continuous threat of multi million pound fines does not help, just takes one stupid move by an employee
even in a reputable casino to bring one down on them, agreed some of the fines are justified but I wouldnt like
have that hanging over me
Actually i’d rather have a few cowboy outfits if it meant having the 50 or so casinos back that have pulled out of the UK market, yes I would.Would you rather have a bunch of cowboy outfits all over the place?
