Twitch to ban streaming links and affiliate codes

Alright, guess ill have to move my 9p Doa stream somewhere else.

Hopefully i can get pornhub or some other reputable streaming site to host my streams.
Everyone subscribed will get information about the move in the coming days.

I have no doubts that together we will get through this and come out even stronger on the other side!

I hope the highlight type vids that dunover and the bandit make will still be available - if this comes to youtube - as they still have a home player session feel to them for me. [I know bandit plays high stakes a lot these days, but no reload bonuses are involved, and it's about 1 vid a week ] they're realistic in their commentary about the games. Ditto Chopley but he doesn't affliate his vids.

I don't know how many new customers sign up to a casino through these streams on twitch, but maybe casinos might have to focus a bit more on existing customers if the new signups drop? [I know quite a big hope that!]

All twitch has done is emulate YT by banning direct marketing links, not gambling per se and still they don't have the age-gate facility for promotional videos anyway which is why the UKGC won't allow gambling promotion by UK casinos on Twitch at all. Remember, we are talking marketing of casinos here, as opposed to gambling or gambling streamers. All they will do is say "To get this offer, go to the review page for this casino on my website" (like YT streamers do or type beneath their videos) which isn't a direct marketing link as that is contained on the creator's website.

Should be ok as long you don't have any affiliate or other links to casinos websites (as @dunover just replied above).

Of course it makes little difference when they now have to their watchers first to go their site and find these great offers from there but maybe few percent of people find it too much work to take that extra step.... If Twitch really wanted to make some effort, they could have banned all gambling related content (or if that's too much financial hit, just build age gating like many others do, shouldn't be too tough task).

Yes your right. But it will hit the casinos revenues without being able to directly target plays both of age and underage as happens on Twitch without aff links or promotional banners. And with Twitch being so involved with gaming (none gambling) its only a matter of time before the hammer will fall and ban outright streams promoting gambling. I doubt Youtube would ban gambling videos outright as they seem to be taking a different route and approach.

But Twitch is a whole different beast when compared to YT. And they do not want the negative press now coming out about underage gambling and promotion of gambling in such a way - example $500 spins 10k bonus buys ... 3 million slot wins. I think some of the bigger gambling streamers will be pissing in there pants at the moment - as I think the end is in sight where Twitch is concerned as I dont think Twitch will stop with the restrictions soon to come into place.

I for one dont watch any of these fake steamers - neither the shockingly bad and sad chipwhatevs.

For me its Dunover and his hatred of bonanza ;-) and a few others who play real money real stakes and show it how it is for 99% of online gamblers.

I also think this means that they can't use their chat bots to promote their links either. This WILL have a deep cut in their revenue, and it's about time.
I dont think it will make that much of a difference unfortunatley mate.

All they will do is change the night bot to something like "want to see my reviews of casinos i play at and offers you can get, go to (insert streamers own site)

It's a good thing what they are doing but I don't think it is near enough

How safe are their affiliate casino links on twitch/youtube streams:

This is the zenith of horror for that individual, and if he still doesn't understand how horrible it is...

But again, how can someone believe that stream nonsense...

Ive seen quite some users making such claims, usually those things can be taken with a grain of salt.

Even if you would obtain my CC number plus 3 digit code; it's still protected with "3D Auth" which means my phone is being pushed a notification that only i can unlock and approve. You'd have to be an extreme clever hacker to even obtain access to my device, remotely.

Anyway; the deal with YT and Tw is simple. Ad revenue - I bet that a significant amount of revenue is made out of promotion of gambling, in advertising and such. And because of that its still up and running. There's also quite some public interest, as long as people search and watch the obvious, it wont be dissapearing either. The decision to remove casino links, was'nt because of bad promotion of sites, but to proberly protect the interest of the advertisers on twitch.

However the good news is, even the top tier streamers are slowly coming out and complaining about the stress, depression and such the long hours of gambling is doing. I mean i already knew the obvious to this, but it's a start, that the industry is slowly falling apart with their fake and affiliated streamers.

I read an article on bigwinboard and apparently these guys are being paid up to 4 million a month from the casino to play. So, I guess it's not "fake money" - it's still shady as f*&k

It's not so simple. Their deposits or play are funded by that 4 million salary. So someone like trainwrecks can finance his idiotic gambling habbits. There's also a disclosure that if they win a percentage of that they can keep. And another deal is usually the affiliate income. The only thing real is their deposits, coming from an account thats prefunded pretty much. You got liars all over the place claiming its raw cash.

Left or right such streamers simply have no financial loss. So how does the casino fund this? Well it's simple. By affiliates. You see these streamers pulling the "Free give away" bullshit ... The casino proberly figured out that out of 10 registrations perhaps 2 to 3 are getting hooked. They are the ones paying for that basicly.

By the time these affiliates figure out their RTP or action is quite lower then their streamer, they already lost 30k perhaps at the proces or even more, and for the casino it's a win situation. They 4 million investment is made 10 times back on monthly basis. Thats why they are paid so generous.

Honest pay for an honest day's work :p

Of course casinos are going to be paying through the nose to get people to shill their wares, and so they become highly sought-after PR monkeys, that can be rewarded financially too for their misdeeds! Because ultimately it's just about getting unsuspecting newbies addicted to gambling, a noble endeavour if ever I saw one

With some luck the whole infrastructure will crash and burn, and stealing a living will be off the menu. Perhaps they'll become other types of Influencers, like makeup gurus or 'Social Commentators'

I had affiliate websites and blogs, minor traffic sites, from 2007 to 2010. On 24hpoker.com, I managed to gain over 200 people through my affiliate links with tactics: "advertising freeroll poker tournaments = Free give away" (website do not exists anymore). I get only one "insane" gambler from Brazil, out of those 200+ people. He was putting separate deposits of 1000-2000 EUR a few times a week for around 2-3 months, then he stopped.

Streamers are a different story; 100% of them do not use their own money (monopoly money, fake money etc). Twitch and YouTube are primarily for young people, and they appeal to them.

Yes i know about the affiliation business as well. It's very remarkable. One user can deposit thousands in barely days, then completely quits. Its most likely he won somewhere else and is trying his luck with the account he obtained by using my links. You got the monthly returning visitors who just got their salary and is attempting a few shots. Sometimes you do have people who repeatedly depositted and withdrawl suddenly large, putting your affiliate account to a minimum lol.

I mean there are "real" players who actually won and withdrawl, but the majority all i see is deposits. barely any withdrawl. It's kind of sad. Streamers indeed are paid actors. The netflix or television on entertainment on such sites. People just dont understand its fake. None of their own money is involved.

Few famous streamers even reveal how much money they were given for a two-hour stream, which is absurd amount of money. Streamers with 10,000 or more viewers might earn millions per month, pure real money on their bank accounts.

Yes, but the casino's paying that obviously make that amount 30 to 50 times back considering the signups, avg time of play, avg deposits and even chances of actually winning "big" enough. Its all math really.
