The walking dead

I loved it -- in spite of a long-held "no zombies" resolution -- but decided to bail out at the end of Season 3. Seemed to me that by the end of S3 the original story had run it's course. Also, they were changing senior production staff which is often a sign that one story line is ending and another is about to begin.

I find that many good or exceptional series have a natural 3-season arc: if you stick around after that you're signing on for something else which may not be how you want to remember the show. We were happy with what we'd seen and it seemed that a number of things had come to their natural end so ... later alligator for us.

G'day Peeps,

Soooo, who has been watching and keeping up to date on "the walking dead" - I LOVE this show. Just watched the recent episode, looks like the governor might have turned over a new leaf, or has he!! lol

I never miss it but this season has been a total snooze compared to the twists in last season.
The saddest thing that tore me apart (I hate getting emotionally involved) was last season when they were searching for the little girl the whole season only to find that she was in the barn and had been turned into a walker and they had to shoot her in the head.
I hope the Govenor will be good for a couple of episodes and then out of nowhere go back to his evil ways and start shooting everyone lol
Forgive me, I like a good twist ok, ok and a good shoot out :D

I don't like spoilers but what I can say is series 4 is currently being broadcast and they have commissioned series 5, the ratings have increased over time steadily so they must be doing something right.

I was tempted to read this thread but I don't want to run into any spoilers. That series is on my wife's and I to-watch list. We are so behind on many shows it's probably going to take a while to get to it. :( Everyone says how great it is.

It has it's highs and lows as do all series, but IMO worth a watch in any spare time that allows. It's escapism and that's all we need at times.

Ive seen all the episodes so far. Its an ok serie, but has become a bit boring sadly... :(
The first 1-2 seasons was better, but now its just the same old all over...

Without spoiling and doing detail it has it's highs and lows, but the storyline is solid. Live, Cable and DVR figures along with Neilson (admittedly a broken model) show this.

I am not a biter :lolsign:

All I can say after last night is "NOOOOOOOOoooooooo!!!!!!!!!" :(

The Governor is such a bastard - may he rot in hell!

Does anyone watch "The Talking Dead" after the show? They usually have some of the actors as guests - I didn't realize that Rick, the Gov and Maggie are all British actors. They have the Georgia twang thing down pretty well.

Can't wait till February 9th when the rest of the season kicks off.

I'm not sure how this season can be more boring than season 2; and I really enjoyed season 2 but it played out more like a Chekhov play with '1' mandatory zombie kill per episode. If anything, to me, this is a rare show that's actually found ways to creatively get better (and not get too caught up its own hype).

I like Lauren Cohan (Maggie) enough, but I'm not sure where she was going with all of her chatter last night (Talking Dead). If it's Scott Wilson's (Hershel) last time to talk - and it seemed like he had something important to say - let the man speak! He is/was probably my favorite character on the show.

That surprised me too - I normally don't watch Talking Dead, I only tuned in to see the sneak peak of the next season - lol which was kind of a waste of time. But to hear them speak in their natural voices was trippy - almost like they were putting on the British accent for the interview. And Maggie...to be honest I thought she seemed nervous because she talked too much - but what I couldn't get over is how strange she looked with makeup on!

last year my daughter who is 12 told me about this show so I said ok lets pull it up and start from beginning. 3 days we did not leave the living room. We were addicted. This mid-season finally was a OMG NOOOOO moment. Dam that governor.

Now I love the talking dead show after with Chris Hartwig. he is like a kid in a candy store with that show. Yes I was totally amazed that they were not southern actors as well.

Looking forward to February now.

Love the empty car seat ending...........

I thought this season was more about the personalities, survival and life after the apocalyptic event and not so much the zombies, the walkers were just that "always there" nuisance but the real threats were the daily events and other uninfected humans.

At risk of putting foot in mouth I am sure as hell glad she put that bullet in the head of the governor, he is such a bastard that the stab to the heart probably wouldn't have been enough.

Wow theres a "Talking Dead" we don't get that here, bummer!
The Governor is one helluva deranged wack job.
I liked the way the mid season finale ended, looks like its gonna be more exciting next season.

LOL yes I'm sure Maggie will show up armed to the teeth and will become the New Governor!

I think you mean Carol :)

Yeah, I read the comics, so glad they change things in the show. Still I would love to see Judith in february alive and well :thumbsup:ell

And for those who do not know, this is no spoiler, but there will be someone a lot worse than Governor, so looking forward to that.
Hopefully he will show up this season.

Agreed! They seemed really nervous that episode. First time i watched talking dead and it all looked pretty clumsy
Regarding the show, i love it! I have to admit somewhere in the 2nd season I was ready to give up and go find something else to watch. When they got to hershell's farm it all started to kind of drag along. But the show has made a fantastic comeback and after this midseason finale im 100% sold! cant wait to see what's in store.

One thing that i really mis in the story though, is how they hardly tell anything about the virus and whats happening to the rest of the world. Quite some time has passed since the outbreak and you'd think after a while some form of government would be set up to deal with the zombie problem.

PS. I havent read the comics so if you know where this is going, dont spoil it !!

LOL thanks Miiisooo , yes meant Carol.
Maggies Hershels daughter lol, totally confused myself.

Had no idea it was based on a comic book.
I'm going to need to search for the comics on Amazon.
