I think there is two sides to this coin and its not just VS it is applicable to any casino.

A) Player deposits at a casino once here and there (blue moon scenario) or maybe never since their initial deposit = 10p spins, races, battles etc are more than fair,its something for nothing.

B) Player has a healthy deposit history and is loyal to the casino as best their gaming kitty allows = 10p spins bit of a piss take.

But it isn't free. You have to complete wagering to enter the battles, and its videoslots loyalty/retention program.
I play at G'Day sometimes, they usually send out 2 deposit matches a week. If I deposit ÂŁ50 there, and get a ÂŁ50 match bonus, thats 500 x 10p spins. Thats much more than I have ever had in a week from VS. Yes theres wagering, but the wagering starts the minute you start playing, but if you win before you touch the bonus you can withdraw.
Different bonus structures, but still a loyalty tool, neither are free.

In one way yes. But Free Spins are still allowed if they are truly FREE (its only if its welcome offer or promotion where deposit is required that you are not allowed to use Free Spins)

they manually added it.

Ive wager over 1000 pound(400 needed to wager) and still showing as bonus. worse part is im sitting at 600 balance from 5 golden chips and only 20 can be converted :mad::mad::mad::eek::eek::eek:

Anything you win from the free spins can only be wagered through with cash.

You could try to increase your winnings, before depositing cash to complete wagering on the amount, initially won.
BUT you can only use the slots in the 'bonus slots' section and then only the slots from the same games provider as the free spins were

If by some miracle you managed to get a decent balance, worth depositing cash to wager for. There's then no wager tracking.
So you'd just have to keep depositing and playing, (without knowing how much you'd wagered or needed to wager) until the bonus amount finally showed up in your cash balance
