The Start Button for Free Spins.

This may be be a rather stupid question but I thought I would ask anyway....

Why at Microgaming in particular do some slots have a start button for free spins and others start automatically?

Across all MGS slots there seems to be a split, old or new slots, there is a start button at some and not others.

Do slots with the start button return to the RNG for the outcome of the spins?
The slots that start free spins automatically has the outcome of the bonus been predetermined when the spin button was initially pressed?

Personally I like to be in control of starting my free spins especially when I have it on 'Auto' as I don't want to miss a bonus round.

Most annoying is free spins at Net-ent slots why they have a start button is a mystery, as they all start automatically after 5 seconds anyway. Its pointless being there!

I thought the start free spins button was there so I could make sure I had a beer and a cigarette and could sit back and enjoy the show.

Even if the call to the RNG is dependant on me pushing spin, it's not like I can time it or alter it, so it doesn't make any difference in real life.

I like to have to start the spins. Sometimes I'm doing more than one thing, and I hate missing seeing them. I mean, the bonus rounds are what we play for.

Not much point. You wouldn't have time to finish either before it was all over and "Congratulations, you have won 0 coins" pops up:p

Ah, yes, freespins.
On MG like TSII and BDBA, you can leave them indefinitely. So, as I don't smoke in the house the laptop is unplugged, carried into the dining room and sat on the table. Kettle goes on, coffee made and roll-up manufactured. Sip of coffee, light said roll-up stand outside on patio and watch the joy of another sub-10x stake MG bonus round. If taking 5x spins on TSII I barely get time for 2 puffs and it's over. BDBA often drones on, pointless spin after spin, the joy of yet another 3 tens or jacks for 1.11x stake punctuated by the 'crash' of the safe landing for another superfluous spin which extends the torpor by another 5 seconds. If I want to finish the said coffee on TSII I take the 20 Raven spins, or if I fancy cutting the lawn while I'm at it, the 25x Thor rolling reels.
Now on Hitman there is autostart so I press the x to close game, and get ready with drink/smoke and then 'back to Hitman' button to start them. Cleopatra: well, she's a real b!tch - as soon as the 3 Sphinx dung-dung-dung in, you have to be fast. No drink, but unplug fast and rush to dining room and then get rolling machine (my hands are too big to hand roll lol...) and get cigarette going. I can usually get it done and have a puff by the 11th. of 15 spins. My record is after 8/15. Now sometimes she is benevolent and grants me an extra 15 spin retrigger, and then I can actually smoke half of it before chucking it in the wall ashtray outside...

Now Netent if on autoplay is too darn fast. Fortunately I use the spacebar usually and have quickspin, so like MG I can start them when I'm ready. DoA is quick but Wild Rockets takes longer if you are lucky enough to hit a 'big win' and let it go through its graphics.

On some occasions rather than rush back in after yet another mediocre bonus round, I take the laptop outside while I finish the cigarette at my leisure, and on several occasions during those times I have hit another bonus round, so I'm already 'prepared'....:D

OH, and as VWM says, 'congratu-bastard-lations you won bugger-all'

Too funny.

Reminds me of when I labored for my brother laying slate floor tiles (absolute bastard job but very well paid), and he would always measure the trip home in beer bottles (375ml stubbies) rather than minutes.

We would go to the nearest drive thru bottle shop and he would work out how many beers we needed to get home I.e. "G'day mate its a 5 beer trip home so givvus a dozen of ya coldest" (6 each allowing for traffic). If it was under 15 mins from home we had to stop at the pub for some "overtime" ( or so my sister in law was told).

When I look back, at the time I thought it was so freaking cool (me being 17 and all) but now i realise how irresponsible it was for my brother to drink 6 stubbies of beer (5% alc by vol) whilst driving a truck and trailer loaded to the gills (the truck I mean). Amazing how different things look after time passes.

I won't tell you what happened when the freeway was in logjam and my brother badly needed a leak. The only clue I'll give you is "Oy! Pass me that empty stubbie" followed by "Hold this and pass me another". :barf:

I hate bonus rounds that start and finish all by themselves.

As a low-rolling grinder sort of player, autoplay is my friend, the more configurable the better.

A lot of MG slots trigger a free spins round, start it off and finish it all without any player intervention, which limits my ability to play them on autoplay.

3Dice is very configurable, although for some reason there is no option to stop Super Suits when it hits a free spins round, which is annoying.

In an ideal world I want to be able to configure two main stop triggers (1) Upon hitting a win of a certain size or more (20x is what I usually go for) and (2) Stopping on a bonus round. (Plus of course, after a certain number of spins.)

LMAO....Yes, I had a similar one on the way back, as a lad of 17, from Castle Donington once in the 1980's. Van Halen finished at 9pm. Half hour wait, and the good old Aussie rockers AC/DC headlining came on and played until 11.15. 3 of us in a mini, but fortunately with a better receptacle, viz-a-viz a 2 litre plastic cider bottle but luckily we were under cover of darkness in the queue to get away. I was biggest so I had 'first use' of said bottle...:D:D
