upon filling out a registration form after remitting all other personal info on this new bet on soft casino

there secrete question and answer was my mothers maiden name [not a choice of /from a drop down list of question's ]

in my experience that particular question along with the rest of your /mine identifier info completes the needed
info for identity theft [ not directly accusing, but in the wrong hands ??]

what's your take on this ty RC

It's not necessary to put a correct answer to such secret questions. Just make sure you either write it down or always use the same answer so you remember it.

So... Mother's Maiden Name: Batman.

Name of the street you grew up on: Batman

Childhood friend: Batman.

You get my drift.

:) I get your drift jas but in the back of my mind im thinking what if they want this proof for a big win [ could it get sticky on proving a maiden name ??] I mean all others allow you to select from a dropdown list of harmless questions

thanks for input RC

To be honest after someone has the other information it's fairly easy to obtain a person(s) mother's maiden name.

I never thought about the using a fake name thing though. For some odd reason I've always felt compelled to put correct answers as if someone was watching me and knew what the correct answers were. Don't think that part of the registration process would come up though if you hit a big win as I've always heard them focusing more on id documents and such, and if it did it would be an easy thing to explain. Although if playing at a dodgy casino, I can see them using it against you. Probably best to ask the casino at the beginning when signing up and keep a copy of convo in the ever growing "in case they try to screw me folder."

Secret questions are used for security if you forget your password or account info, not as verification. I've never heard of them being used for any other purposes.

I remember years ago choosing favourite TV show for banking... and at one point I had to redo things, no clue what the show was from several years earlier, lol.

I'm pretty sure the casino doesn't even know what you put in as your answer, it's stored in the software somewhere, like your ATM pin. If you forget it they can not recover it and it must be reset.

The casino CS does know the secret answers/security codes.
Im playing on 2 big casinos that have asked for it so far.
When ive given the wrong answer they became like :what: ... but i always managed to give the right1 in the end & then no problem.
