The "IGNORE" option ??

How do you know when someone's ignoring you? Does it show up in your profile somewhere? Or do you just not know unless they tell you? Or until everyone quits responding to your posts? (are you ignoring me now?)

This particular person added it to the bottom of their posts, but I don't know if that is the usual way. I chose to ignore also but didn't need a button to do it. ;)

"Ignoring felicie"

On another note, and as usual I can't find the posts for example, it seems to me we have a much bigger language barrier here than some of us realize which could certainly lead to more misunderstandings. Just a thought.

Casinomeister: To go further, some members choose not to participate anymore because they don't like what another member says. That's a cop out,
I take exception to this.

I have stopped posting and visiting as much as I used to (I used to visit many times a day because I truly felt this was a great place with many great people) due to the fact that when one does report another, and also sends an email to the mods etc etc as was requested to inform of anothers bad habits...and gets blown off by the one and only including their side kick..then..what is the point to even try?

I mean..Bryan, you and Maxd already have your minds made up that "Nifty" has been wronged by so many.

Well...one cannot fight something that I feel is percieved by those in charge in a light that is totally opposite of just what it is. I was told in a manner that I was wrong..period...well..I accepted the decision and CHOSE not to continue in the same vein in the forum since I was shown it is useless by the actions of those in charge..

This is my opinion and my take on the response I received when doing just what was asked..totally being blown off...so..I thought to myself, whatever..and It is NOT a "cop out" there was nothing to cop out of when one has done what one was asked and was totally ignored..it is called "a choice" not to interact as much due to the blindness in my opinion of some in the upper management and a "choice" not to be verbally abused by inuendo by this same person..which I was told is acceptable because they did not write about "the person" but in "general" when responding to the post. I found this interesting...and unacceptable...

Just my thoughts on the subject of seeing the trees for the forest ....or the forest for the trees...

No offense is meant to anyone...just a statement of my opinion as to what I perceived as being put on the "ignore" button list by management.

You say that you have been "blown off" or ignored?

I've just checked the "report a post" files which date back to 2007 (close to 5000 of them), and there are none from you. You have never used this function that we have repeatedly told members to use. I have a couple of PMs where you state your displeasure on some of the forum activity, and you were planning to leave, but actually that's it.

To choose not to participate is a cop out. Anyone in this forum has the power to turn things around in their favor. You can stand up and debate anything to your heart's content. You can refer like-minded people as yourself to join the forum and become an active member. You can start you own social group where you are able to invite whomever you please. You can start a blog. There are a hell of a lot of things that empower you to take this forum by the horns. To be a long time active member and sulk away because a few people are raining on your sunny day doesn't make sense. It's like you are looking for an excuse to leave, and I don't buy that.

Major misconception: many members believe that Max, Webzcas, Simmo and I are monitoring each thread and watching who is bothering whom. We don't, we can't, and we don't want to. I can understand this misconception, so I'm not throwing blame out here in any way - I can also understand the frustration that a member may feel when they think the moderators and I condone and support everything and anything that is said here. This is why we have been preaching to use the "report a post" function.

Whatever is reported is brought to all of our attention. Sure, you can PM me as well, but when you PM me - only I see this. If I'm out of town, I'm not going to be getting to it right away. And this goes for the moderators too; if you PM them, I won't know about it unless they tell me.

This is our policy on how to deal with quarrels in the forum:

It can't get much better than that. And if you have any suggestions you'd like to add, please let us know - we are and always have been a community which implements what members want.

Yes I have..I even hit it on accident on one of VMW's post not paying attention to what I was doing and I DID click on his "report" button. I see even that mistake did not take. Thank goodness for that. (Sorry VMW,it was by accident!) Maybe I did it wrong, but I know I clicked on it for the ones I wanted reported.

As to sulking away?? Um...I did not do that..I just continued to use the other areas of this site more and avoided the discussions and as you state, there is a lot more to your place than just the forum. But, in all essence, the forum IS the HEART of this place...that is where many of the "people" are and where one WANTS to be.. ..As to where my report this person button went...I have no idea, but I did use it....
