The Euro Cup related deposit and none deposit deal thread and your Euro predictions

First tournament in a while where I really wasn't 'feeling it'. Obviously nice to see Wales & Iceland do well but for me the whole new format ruined the competition. All this '3rd' team bollocks meant that teams could blag their way into the knockouts with a 4/6 chance.

I felt the same. Woy never inspired me to have much faith in the squad. I would live Pardew as the next manager. But the axtra games created by the 3rd team situation allowed for extra days worth of promos from casino's

Portugal wouldn't have made it for starters, and the eventual permutations led to a lopsided draw with too many big teams meeting early on. Here's hoping the 'first two teams qualify' format makes a reappearance before the competition gets ruined altogether.

The extra games created too much money for them to shrink the tourney next time. I can see it expanding to so much that the Faro Isles will qualify and Australia and New Zealand will get a wild card entry

Otherwise why not start all teams in the knockout phases to begin with if they want to level the playing field?

I have it on good authority that Leicester City are going to be allowed to take part in 4 years time in order to add authenticity to the tourney.

Here's my future England tournament predictions for good measure:

2018- knocked out in second round by Iraq. Team freezes on pitch in more ways than one.

Rooney will still be there leading the line as mine sweeper.

2020- group stage

2022- quarter finals but knocked out by the powerhouse known as Chad. Brits rue that they never managed to conquer this nation in their history and it has now come back to haunt them. The team suffer from burnout in more ways than one.

2024- 2058 DNQ

But Rooney still insists he has something to offer the team, now aged 62

By this time the public will no longer take the piss out of him shagging grannies :eek2:

but now imagine there wasn't that fact of 6 teams getting to play-off matches from 3-rd places...
Actually Portugal the first winner team in EURO history who hadn't won any game at group stage!:D

Yep. And there is a precedent for that, just not in the Euros. Italy won in '82 after 3 draws in the group stage.

It's not been a classic Euros tourny. A case of too many teams spoiling the footballing broth. It was more a case of the fans winning the Euros, rather than the football.

the fact Ronaldo finally got the international title with Portugal is so huge. because of that we could speak more about Portuguese!
But the fact Wales getting to semi-final and Iceland had beaten England should be on top!

It was an uneventful tournament I feel. I'm struggling to remember any goals of note, apart from the final which I guess is because it's quite recent!

It was a tournament of 'the underdog' but we're all getting a bit fed up with that now....I'm convinced that most people love to see the powerhouse nations in a competition, not concessions made to aid weaker nations.

It was fun watching Wales and Iceland up to a point but I'd rather have had the two-team format, so that teams play naturally, not play defensively to pick up enough points to qualify in third! This way most of the bigger teams get through and the minnows fall by the wayside, thus not screwing up the knockouts.

If I wanted to watch any old collection of ragtag teams I'd watch the CONCACAF Cup, not the Euros. But then again, who doesn't want to watch Haiti play?

Marca... the worst team of Euro 2016
Hart
Juanfran Ramos Alaba
Muller Pogba Arda Turan Sterling
Ibrahimovic Lewandowski Kane

you know i can't disagree. almost all of us beleived in their good playing this tournament, but...

break news :D The news about Zlatan Ibrahimovic transfer has been liked by 500000 users in instagram and this is the second record in United by sweden player. And he even not played in official game.
