the best browser to date

Techie I am not - unplug the tv, dvd, wii, xbox, modem and everything that runs wirelessly, and I'm screwed putting it back together.

Anyway, Chrome was my preferred browser and all it does now is cause headaches -so switched to Opera, and all is golden.
I know some prefer Safari, but which is the best going these days, espec if like me, you have 10+ tabs running at once all performing different functions
Cheers

I do a lot of testing with web browsers and there are literally hundreds, thanks for reminding me I should clean some of them up.

Some are tweaked better then others to perform certain tasks etc.

Some of my favourites that I currently still have installed are:

Maxthon Cloud (love its built in turbo function, seems to run faster than the others)

Firefox (mostly just use this for seo plugins)

Avan browser

SRWare Iron (A Chrome copy)

Comodo IceDragon

Torch Browser

And Opera which you are already using.

Oh I could go on but hopefully you find something you like in that list, if not I can list a few more fav's.

There are no perfect browsers, and with each update something gets broken for a little time but is then subsequently fixed. Memory leakage from opened tabs affects all browsers in my experience.

Chrome tends to be the safest browser in tests but with it's own flash plugin version can hang on some pages, Opera is very light on resources if you have a slow internet connection as it can use compression by way of making pictures etc. smaller in size on web pages to speed up the loading time, it does this server side by redirecting web requests through a server based in Amsterdam (last time I checked).

I use Firefox at the moment and this is because I use plugins that suit my needs and do not have the tracking potential of some on the Chrome browser, Safari is I think not available for me as I run a windows based machine.

I have thought about buying a MAC but settled on a raincoat instead lol

A 'flasher's MAC' ? Yes, I've heard of those. Apparently they come with two trouser legs which you sellotape around your thighs to appear normal before you commit the deed....;)
