The 2016/2017 football season predictor thread

Last weeks went down the swanny and the toon where mugged by the ref last night

So with a profit for the season of £132.92 my weekly £5 accumulator pays £373.26 at Unibet

Palace, Leicester, Spurs, Blackburn, Brighton, Norwich.

TBH, I didnt even realise you was playing last night.
2 on the bounce now.
We must have worn you out at Elland Road lol

Me too. I had a little flutter on the gee gee's and they went flat too. The Championship is a bit of a basket case as far as predictions go :(

Not touched the horses since they almost put me in an early grave earlier this year :o :o

Had a lucky 15 (only 20p's) and on top a £5 e/w accy

Winner, Winner, Winner (now chest is pounding)

Made the mistake of watching the 4th race (missed all the others on purpose) horse was pretty much 2nd/3rd from start to almost finish and instead of making a 'push' in final few lengths, fucking thing gave up and finished pretty much last.

L15 paid £30 odd from 20p's but the £5 accy for 4 winners would have been huge! :(

My worst experience was years ago. I was wishing to stick a bet on at Glorious Goodwood summer meeting and it was my day off. 5 races on Ch4 on a week day. I had the day off but I had to attend a training course. I had my 5 horses marked out in me paper but I didn't have the time to stick the bet on (Always either a Canadian or a Yankee). That evening Ch4 showed highlights of the days meeting. All 5 won at odds ranging from 20-1 to something like 5-1.
I will never forget it :(

OUCH! - Neither would I, that would bloody haunt me until the day it was Game over lol.

Can tell a similar story, although not really gambling related but equally (ish) gutting.

At work one day, I had a £20 note, car was off road and needed change for bus.

Went to our reception where they paid out customer travel X's from and stored the petty cash and asked receptionist for some change...

"I've only got 0.20p's left Jon, all the notes and £1 coins have gone" she said.

"Not to worry I replied, they're only going in the bus anyway and for my lunch, I'll use em over the course of the week"

Returning to my desk, I opened one of the 2 x £10 bags I'd been given and as I separated £3 or £4 for lunch n bus fare, I noticed they'd got no date on them.

"Hey you lot" I said to my team "These new 20p's don't have a date", met with little reply, I put em in desk draw n some in pocket.

Proceeded to spend them all over the week, thought nothing of the missing date and didn't even keep one!

You can work out the rest lol - Over 5 years ago now that was and still bothers me to this day, more so when I see the coin related articles in papers pop up from time to time.

I was never any good at calculating Super Yankee/Canadian odds and it was pre internet days so google wasn't my friend.

Taking about coins. One of my neighbours just a few weeks ago told me how much he gets for some of the coins he and his mate get from using their metal detectors. He said they are going to sites which are out of bounds. Then last week I read an article about a few historic local sites being raided by metal detector enthusiasts illegally. These sites have a conservation order on them due to habitat and historical significance.

I may bribe the git for a cut if my luck don't improve

They dont even look embarassed....

^^lol^^ nice boys

I see you'll be safely into the 4th round JD, Us though, away to Stoke its all over before we make the short trip up the M6 :o

Cant take anything for granted in the FA cup Jon.

We was in league 1 and beat Man U at Old Trafford.

Non league Histon beat us a few years ago.

I did an FA cup acca a few years ago, would have won £1400 from a fiver bet.
The team who let me down was Rotherham, they drew with bloody Emley.

Of course Rotherham won the replay

I am super confident that this weeks accumulator is in the bag :) £127.92 up my £5 is on Arsenal,Bournemouth,Palace,Man City,Swansea and The Toon
paying £187.99 at Bet365

I think only Palace could let me down

Sounds good. Think You'll be Ok with Palace mate, only small doubts I'd have with that acca is Bournemouth away from home ain't the greatest.

Hope it rolls in for ya. CBA to go to bookies to put one on today, all man flued up lol :o

We have Brum today and the lads will be all fired up after Brighton took our top spot last night. What a liberty!

man up.webp

They should suspend betting on Chelsea winning the title, it's ridiculous. Who would have predicted this after the hammering they took at Arsenal earlier in the season!

What a shrewd signing Kante was for them as well, they haven't had a decent defensive midfielder since Makelele

Your right there. I feel sorry for Pardew because he's a decent manager. Maybe the winter will see a few changes in teams forms?

Wolves will go on a right run now and be in play off positions by mid Feb

I will also get another 4 reel wild desire and 5 lots of 5 scatters plus 4 wild lines

I hope they make it Jono. They are a sleeping giant of a club. I recall years ago Mollineux (SP) being the biggest ground in the Country besiides Wembley.

screwed my coupon up today. 7 teams but never realised when i put it on newcastle was a late kick of never take late games.

Now do i cash out or wait on Newcastle since first 6 won. Suppose ill at least get a free bet out of it.

Keep your nerve buddy. Remember all of those who cashed out in January on Leicester winning thee league?

I think that the play offs are wide open this year. I'm pretty happy that Brighton are up there because Ray Houghton is a decent manager who was unfairly sacked at Newcastle

When I said keep your nerve earlier I meant cash out early

Todays £5 accumulator is a long shot with Burnley,Liverpool,West Ham, Man U,Norwich and Preston. With a profit of £115.92 so far the return of the accumulator would be a massive £1404.14 at Bet365

The way they're going on about Giroud's goal you'd think it was the greatest goal ever scored.

Not denying it's a good finish but the cross was behind him and if anything it was just a great piece of improvisation, the kind that works once in a thousand attempts!

I was impressed at how fast the keeper reacted to it because a lot of keepers would not have been expecting a shot once he started falling forward

Nothing like my Sunday League goalkeeping exploits of old.

I'd still be diving as my team ran to the halfway line to kick off :o

About 75% possession and they looked totally in control. The trouble is that if you don't score then the opposition will always have hope

I have a sneaky suspicion that Leeds will become a thread for promotion too.

Would be nice, but still think You and Brighton will walk it.
Best we can hope for is play offs.

Its still awfully too close up there, a couple of losses and its all change

On another note lol

Rotherham,as much as that?

The winter months with injuries will probably help those like the Toon who have bigger squads and buying power this month. But there are not many teams on a good run at the moment.
