I play PG quite a lot at Inter, and have to agree it is a very 'streaky' game.
(Of course I only low-roll with $5 bets - so it doesn't hurt so much)
But I found the same thing on other platforms too.

That was a diabolical session you had there; I wonder if any stats guys can say what the chances of that type of run is..?

Since the chances for the player and the dealer are nearly 1:1 for winning, I would say the chances of 11 consecutive losses is something like 1:2048.
So it is nothing very unusual, IMO.

I once saw occurrence of an event 1:148 million on Chartwell software roulette and still I am not sure whether it is rigged or not.
I was covering numbers that were coming up (i.e. betting first on 13 numbers, then on 14 numbers, then 15 numbers, etc.) and none of the numbers repeated for approximately 20 numbers until there were just 3 numbers left without bets - and guess what number came up... One of the uncovered ones. It was really incredible. I lost my whole bankroll. But at other times, I won on Chartwell roulette so it might have been just a coincidence - it must have happened to someone somewhere...
So that Pai Gow Poker session does not surprise me at all.

I disagree here! The chances of the player winning (and I can't really be bothered to look it up and check exactly ) is about 29%, 30% losing and 41% tie. This is no way a 50-50 game! The chances of simply not winning 14 hands in a row is certainly not improbable, just very unlucky. The chances of simply losing every hand would be extremely unlikely, bordering on lottery winning occurences. The odds of losing 11 hands, winning none of 14 hands is considerable but would take a better mathematician to work out than me.


What makes this stand out to me is this is the only 14 hands I played - I didn't cherry pick here. Sure, if it was a streak in a 5000, 500, even 50 hand session it would be more acceptable from my fun/risk point of view. And yes, I know I upped my bets as I lost more and more hands but thats not the point here!


I like the platform of Intercasino, I am predominately a poker player and do very nicely from Interpoker - however, I decided to leave because for quite a few months now I've never had a good session in the casino (of course you havent you say: you lose a few hands then up your bets - sure, maybe i deserve it!). Financially it's no issue, it's the experience of which I do not like. However for some time now I've been addicted to games like Solitaire and Pai Gow and because of my bad luck I end up getting irritated that I spend all my hard earned poker cash!

I'm simply off to a crypto poker site which doesnt have such a tempting casino aligned with it (hello WPT and DTD!).

This basically comes down to :

I simply wish Interpoker would give you the chance to opt out of the casino to avoid my human weaknesses!!!

PS :

And actually 1 in 2048 is pretty unusual - as a poker player if I lost 14 coin flips in a row I would be close to insane! - for some reason these phenomenal odds are accepted in casinos by players more readily.

You are right that this is very unusual - one should experience that perhaps once in a lifetime at the most, I would guess.

2 observations:

1/ The joker appeared a total of 4 times within the session, thrice for the house and once for the player. The house had 2 flushes and a pair of aces with the joker involved whereas the joker only accounted as a single ace in the high hand for the player.

2/ Losing with lousy hands against only slightly better hands for most of the session with a couple of hands with no pairs for both parties. Hands #12 and #13 are reasonably good hands and it sucks when they lose especially with nine losing hands previously.

I agree with KasinoKing; you merged ties and losses into one category; you are probably right that the chances of a tie OR a loss occurring (i.e. the chances of no win) are 71% but having 11 losses in 14 hands is something quite different. I am no mathematician but common sense tells me that the chances of 11 losses occurring in a row, with no win in between, expressed as a percentage, must be something like 1/3 multiplied eleven times (multiplied by 100 to express it in %). And with the 3 ties in between, the chances of this particular sequence occurring are actually even somewhat lower, IMO.

Always tread with caution when you play intercasino(crypto) table/card games. The baccarat and BJ games are the most streaky. I once lost 10 games in a row playing baccarat and always placing the bet on the banker. Not being a sore loser but just to test the statistics, I logged off the table after each game and immediately re-entered the same table with less than 15 secs each time. I observed that the statistics (past results) were entirely different each time. Many Baccarat players use the stats as reference for placing bets so I asked support why this was so. They were unable to give any sort of valid answer which does show that either the software is still undeveloped or that the game is rig###.

We expect to tie in 41% of our hands, but had only 3 ties. The probability of only 3 ties out of 14 hands is 11%. It's correct that if we choose not to estimate the probability of lack of winning hands (as I did), but in stead choose to estimate the probability of loosing hands, we get a different and more unlikely result. We expekt to loose 30% of our hands. The probability of 11 losses or more out of 14 hands is 0,025%.

What happened here is that we have a result that may look unlikely, but statistically just is the combined effect of a session where we happened to have both few wins (in fact no wins) and few ties.

It's completely natural with such sessions. We meet them all the time. It's definitely frustrating when it happens.

The only solution is not to panic and avoid to try to win back what is lost by increasing the size of the bets. And secondly: remember only play with money you can afford to loose.

Hey, as the OP I openly admitted to increasing the size of the bets. I merely posted this because at the time I decided I didn't want to play at IC anymore and posting this was (in my own way) a way of defining it in my mind. I had a bad run. I played 14 hands and posted what happened.

I play poker. Poker is by definition a slow-burn game - you play well and can grind out a nice profit. I am a rational person BUT I get tempted to the casino because of the great bonus offers and it is easily accessible from the poker site (I asked IC to bar me from the casino but I could only opt-out of the whole package).

For months I have played the bonus at IC with Pai-Gow and Solitaire and have never had a winning session. I probably deserve it but this final casino session was the last straw. In my mind, I expected to lose and I did. I increased the bets because seeing as I was less than $50 into a $2.5K req I didnt want to spend hours grinding and slowly losing - if "they" wanted my money they might as well take it. I am therefore by default a bad bonus player (but, hey, at least I'm not an abuser).
