"That one."

Newsflash: The main purpose of foreign aid is not help foreigners but to subsidize domestic industries.
News Flash - US Foreign Aid's main purpose in the last thirty-five years has been to support US political allies. (you know Dictators like, Mubarak, Noriega, Batista, Cerezo, Fahd bin'Abdul-'Aziz, Pinochet and lets not forget Saddam Husine... just to name a few.)

The US Weapons Manufacturers do not need any subsidizing from our federal government...

He he. I'm sending in my Federal Write-in Ballot today.

Hmm, which will it be? This one....or that one? :D

How about "None of the above?" Remember 'Brewster's Millions' with Richard Pryor, back in 1985?

Brewster's Millions (1985 film) In the film Brewster (played by Richard Pryor) joins the race for Mayor of New York City and throws most of his money at a protest campaign urging a vote for "None of the Above." The two major candidates sue Brewster for his confrontational rhetoric, leading to a massive settlement which of course furthers their competitor's true goal. Unfortunately, Brewster is forced to end the protest campaign when he learns that he is leading in the polls as a write-in candidate and has to publicly announce that he cannot accept the mayoralty if he won it.

Worth noting:

# David Gatchell of Tennessee ran for governor in 2002 and for Senate in 2006 as a protest, officially changing his middle name from "Leroy" to "None of the Above." [3] In 2006, he got 3,738 votes (0.2 percent).
# Geoff Richardson changed his full name to "Of The Above None" and stood as an independent for the seat of Gilmore at the 2007 Australian federal election. His name appeared as "NONE, Of the Above" on the ballot.[citation needed]
# A Prince George businessman ran in the June 2, 1997 Canadian election in the district of Prince George-Bulkley Valley [4] under the name of "Zznoneoff, Thea Bove" (Thea Bove Zznoneoff); ballots listing candidates alphabetically by surname, he appeared at the bottom. He came sixth of seven candidates with 0.977 percent of votes cast.

LMAO! Well, it's a better choice than PINK! :D hehe

pink2-710880.jpg

Did anyone see the White house in pink this week in honor of Breast Cancer? It was kind of cool looking.

Brian, you are forgiven :D

Some of you have forgotten that 40+ years ago in the USA, Black people did not have the same rights as White people.

John McCain was an adult at that time, he knows well that the use of the term "That one" to refer to a black man is raciest and takes us back to the days before Civil Rights came to America.

Forgive me if I missed it, but I don't think anyone even mentioned the race card.

Even if Obama was white, it would still be disrespectful.

Would you want *anyone* calling you "that one?"

Maybe you should open up your closed mind, and quit thinking everything that people are saying against McCain is just "something to bitch about."

No disrespect, but do you actually READ into what's being brought up, or just take everything at face value?

The problem is that it's not "Presidential". The same with not giving the hand shake at the end. One could tell that Obama was reaching toward McCain, but McCain directed Obama towards Mrs. McCain. WTF?

We need someone who acts like the President of the United States, not someone who wears his annoyance on his sleeve.

That depends which President you mean ,surely?

I will give my two pennies worth from our Little Island.

If a candidate over here repeatedly addressed strangers as "My friends" they would last about Five minutes before having something thrown at them.

McCain comes across as very stiff both physically and politically, I doubt you would get a full term out of him if you vote him in.

Anyway I could never vote for someone who looks like they may have just breached their incontinence pants.

I have seen 18 wheelers with smaller turning circles.

All that does not mean that I agree with Osama, erm I mean Obama, but anyone who Fox News attacks would automatically get my vote.

hey i like fox news:D better than the others, could this be why im such a right winger? rob, i dont know if you can get the talk radio station or pick it up, its 97.5 f.m talk radio in nashville ,tn, a guy named phil vallentine is worth listening to, if your able to pick it up, very cool man imo..............i listen to him all the time and some of the others on there...................laurie

Well Lauriejim I hope you were a Right winger before fox news because the thought that Fox News could actually influence peoples opinions is a little worrying.
We tune in when we need a good laugh over here.
I say that because of the ludicrous bias in all their reporting.

Haha RobWin "Faux"

Rusty, you mean Faux News don't you...:D

Or we could watch unbiased networks like, say.....MSNBC, oops Keith Olbermann got demoted for being too liberal (and for mainstream media that is saying a lot :p), or NBC.....hold on, Chris Matthews says he gets a tingle up his leg when Obama speaks (I get so Ombarassed when that happens :o) or maybe the Clinton News Network where dead fish Wolfe and Jack McCafferty regularly slam the republican party or maybe we could just listen to AirAmerica.....oops - bankrupt (with the enormous talent of Al Franken?) or.....

LOL Exactly! I watch CNN & MSNBC, but only turn to FOX when I want to see what kind of bias koolaid they will be serving that day. hehe

It's always good to see what they are upto when I have time to waste.

Bryan, you know me better than that man...I've always said that ALL of the mass media networks are biased and are totally controlled by the mega corporations that own them...the powers behind the scenes...we only hear and see what they want us to hear and see, all the more reason to seek out and find your own alternative news...;)

So if Obama is in office I guess you can expect about 100 million Al Franken/Jessie Jackson type folks running around ruining your day huh? :D

LOL....I actually like Jesse - especially his newfound humility after it was revealed that he was doing one of his office staff at the same he was counseling Bill Clinton after his scandal.

I see a trend here.....Jesse Jackson, Bill Clinton, John Edwards.....oh never mind - I guess it beats giving hand signals in the airport bathroom or hitting on same-sex congressional pages

While Al and Jessie are cool, I must admit that I do not agree with alot of what they say, (as they are kind of radical) but someone has to do their job and I'm happy to see him do it.

It kind of bugs me when I see guys dis Bill Clinton for what he did when a lot of you males would do the same thing almost daily in his position. :D

I agree, but the part that really bugs me is that Conservatives will trash Bill Clinton for just acting like a lot of men would, but won't criticize G.W. Bush for for the all the terrible things he and his cronies have done...

You know what????
I can't wait for Obama to 'stuff' the Justice Department and the Courts with radical left wing liberal democrats (you know Obama would just be following the precedent set by Bush and Cheney)... I can hear you Republicans crying about it already... ;)

I hope that we can get rid of those names like right wing, wing nut, wing bat, conservative, republican, democrat and are allowed to just be ourselves. Not one of us agree with our "party" 100% and IMO it's kind of silly to sterotype people as a whole.

After seeing the stock market lose almost another trillion dollars today we all need to figure out how to get our stuff together so that we can survive together.

well I just got done with most of my hunting for the year... The larder is almost full... and I just stocked up on ammo... I'm ready for whatever.

I'm sorry to be a little 'blond' on ya, but can you please elaborate on what you mean by that statement. Are harem's in demand these days?
Hmmm my question is when weren't Harems in demand?:D

I end up with a fair and balanced report because I go to FOX for the right winged view, and then I go to CNN for the Lefties... and if I'm really in a leftist viewpoint mood, I visit the Huffington Post.

Hillary Clinton speaks at Obama rally in Scranton, PA

I just love Hillary! She has some really good 'jabs' for the GOP. LMAO

I was upset that Obama did not pick her, but I love Joe Biden just as much!

Check out how she pointed out that after eight years of Bush we had to add a digit to the National Debt Clock! hehehe

Dont really matter if you vote McCain or Obama.

They have both supported overspending and the wars and will just continue to create more mess.

Why not try Barr or Baldwin and get some real changes?
LMAO  Now THAT is funny.

Welcome to the forum Promotion. Here's some breaking news for ya. :D

--------------------------------------
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has endorsed Barack Obama for President of the United States.

The move is a huge boost for Democrat Mr Obama as Mr Powell served under current President George Bush during his first term.

He had also been talked about as a possible running mate for Mr Obama's Republican rival John McCain, a man with whom he had worked for many years.

The fact that a well respected republican has endorsed Barack Obama!

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell
has endorsed Barack Obama for President of the United States.

-------------------------------------
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell announced Sunday that he will be voting for Sen. Barack Obama, citing the Democrat's "ability to inspire" and the "inclusive nature of his campaign."

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell says he is voting for Barack Obama.

"He has both style and substance. I think he is a transformational figure," Powell said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

"Obama displayed a steadiness. Showed intellectual vigor. He has a definitive way of doing business that will do us well," Powell said.

ok, so that is what you call a breaking news. That was just what i told in my first post. There are really no difference between Obama and McCain and therefore it is really no big suprise that Colin Powell say that he will vote Obama.

Well if we dont have to be worried about the value of the $ what is the problem them. We can then just keep printing us out of all debts and never have to work again. A new Zimbabwe.

You have to understand that the problems is caused by money printing out of thind air and very low interest rates also created by the fed and the government.

I think the value of the Dollar is the last thing we should be worried about right now.

Well if we dont have to be worried about the value of the $ what is the problem them.

If you have to ask that, stay out of politics. And I never said that we shouldn't have to be worried about it [at all.] I said that the value of the dollar is the last thing we should be worried about.

Plain and simple: There's plenty of other more important issues that need to be dealt with.

Besides, you're not even American.....so why say "us" and "we?"

We can then just keep printing us out of all debts and never have to work again.

I have most of my family in the US and my company also deals in $. So basicly I am not an American. But US still has a big influence on my life. That is also why I have an opinion about it.

I understand that other problems is more important in the daily life. But you have to understand that you cant solve many of the other big problems without solving the problem with the $ and the very big debts that US now have.

Fair enough. :)

Even if the dollar increased in value, I doubt that it'll increase enough to put a noticeable dent in our debts. Maybe over a period of 10 years it will, but it's not going to jump that much anytime soon.

Personally, I like Ralph Nader.
He would close the borders, shut down this free trade crap and get rid of the favoritism toward cooperations over people. Just what we need IMO.

But the powers that be, want everyone to only have the choice between two and not three... Both the "parties' learned from Ross Perot... They will never willing allow a third party candidate for president to be in the "main stream" again.

Too damn bad the only time these two corrupt political parties can work together is shut out a third party from trying for the Presidency...

That is so true, and sad at the same time.

I don't think we'll see an independent, or any other third party candidate elected as President; at least in our lifetime.

Like the $700 billion bailout that Bush/Paulson gave to the banks? Where do you think that money is going to come from?

Republicans talk about how Obama is about "Socialism" and spreading the wealth, but IGNORE that our current government is doing just that. Only they are once again spreading it to the wealthy.

You have a point, but we the people are to blame for that. Now that more people are becoming more educated in political and financial matters hopefully things will change.

We ALL need to get involved in order for there to be REAL change.

I just wonder why nobody has brought up AIG's parties that were paid for by AMERICAN TAXPAYERS.

Here's a list of the charges:

So let me get this straight. They have to get a "loan" from the government, but yet they can spend over $400K on this crap?

AIG subsidiary parties in style in OC, two weeks after bailout

Financial crisis? What financial crisis?

Less than two weeks after Uncle Sam gave American International Group (AIG) an $85 billion loan - staving off financial collapse - execs from one of its insurance subsidiaries, AIG American General, gathered for a conference at the uber-swank St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, billed as “California’s only Mobil Travel Guide Five-Star Resort,” where ocean-view rooms start at $565 a night and “world class luxury” is the rule.

On Friday, before the presidential debate got under way, caterers for the St. Regis were setting up dozens of tables on the grounds of Mission San Juan Capistrano for AIG American General’s sumptuous off-site dinner. Tables were draped with soft Tuscan-gold tablecloths that cascaded to the grass; elegant fresh flower centerpiece graced each table; and what appeared to be fine crystal stemware, at least from a distance, glistened in the fading light.

Workers set up a lengthy bar stocked with bottles of liquor. A half-dozen tall space heaters stood sentinel in case the evening turned cool. There was a large center stage with lighting and a sound system, and once the sun went down, the whole scene took on a magical patina as tiny white lights twinkled in the trees.

Probably not. But if you dont do anything about it then it will just get even worse. My point is that you cant continue using money that you dont have in the long run. And money that you just print without any value behind will devaluate the $ in time. Just look and the value of the $ now compared with the value 4-5 years ago. This will hit hard on the average americans savings, and that is not fair.

Why not give the market a chance? Now you have regulated the market into one bouble after another. Why not stop printing money, let all money be backed up by gold instead of air. Then let the market set the interest rate instead of a few shady persons in the federal reserve. Stop using money on wars that has nothing to do with your national security, nothing to do with terrorist and nothing to do with 9/11. Solve all the problems in the US instead and give the american people and all the people that in depending on your politics their freedom back.

Fair enough. :)

Like I pointed out in another thread.

This Congress has the lowest approval rating in the history of our Country and is now making some of the biggest changes ever in our Banking and Financial systems...

I don't know if anyone else sees a problem with this, but I sure do.

These morons with a 7% approval are going in and changing things like they have a mandate...

Lets hope that when/if we ever get any good people in Congress they will be able to fix all the mistakes the current corrupt moron congress people have caused.

This money was printed out of thind air and is basicly being paid by inflation.

The more money you print the lower the value of the $. So basicly this bailout will be paid by everyone having hard eaned savings in US $ and not by the people creating the mess (Government and Federal Reserve)

Like the $700 billion bailout that Bush/Paulson gave to the banks? Where do you think that money is going to come from?

Why not give the market a chance?
Hmmm... well that has been the policy under Nixon, Regan, Bush & Bush and it has not worked for the average working people in all those years.

Time for some radical change in this Country... Time to control the markets and banks with a iron fist, start putting limits and tariffs on imports, tax the f@*# out of Cooperations that send jobs out of this Country and stop rewarding these prostitute companies for helping to destroy our economy and our way of life... just my opinion.

When you control the interest rate and the money printer you control the market. And theese tools have neven been controlled by the market but by the Federal Reserve and the Government.

So what you say is simply not correct
