I love a bit of nostalgia. Such a shame many of these things have now become obsolete :(

I was telling my niece that when I was a child we were so excited to have our first TV remote....it only turned the tv on and off AND it had a cord on it! She was like "why even bother if you cant change the channels" I said "well back then there were only 3 channels" lol ...abc, nbc & cbs ....that remote was still amazing to us.

I remember my boss trying to explain his new "email address" to me in the early 90s and I was like "no one else has this email thing so who are you going to write to?" and thought to myself "this will never catch on" ....boy was I ever wrong !;)

nostalgia isn't what it used to be...

In a callcentre I was working at one of the girls was complaining about a problem with her headset. I joked that considering our out-dated equipment she should consider herself lucky it's not a rotary phone. .... *pause*... 'What's a rotary phone?' ... she'd never seen a phone without buttons on it. Made me feel ooold. :( I wonder what she would have said if I told her I used to have 'Rabbit ears' on my TV?

LMAO I still have a working 13" portable Zenith black and white tv I won in a raffle when I was 9.

Last year during the flood. my oldest grandsons' other grandma was listening to the news on a transistor radio. It was funny listening to my grandson trying to describe it. The only reason I guessed it was when he told me he didn't know any of the stations (guessing they were all AM stations LMAO) and she had this funny earphone thing.

I also still own one of those clunky black rotary phones (it's packed away in a box...nostalgia, boy are my kids going to hate me when I die and they have to clean out all my junk!!! LMAOOOOO).

And try to explain about watching tv in black and white with only 3 stations to choose from  Hurry home from school to watch the Mickey Mouse Club with Annette and Cubby LOL

AWWWWWWWWWW HA I so feel you...my husband is 7 years younger than me and when we bought our first house together (14 years ago) it still had the original SHAG carpet in it...I said "looks like we are gonna have to buy a rug rake" and he was like "WTH is a rug rake?"

I miss when video games only had one button and a joystick :o

You should take your stuff to one of those pawn or antique shows :) My mom just sold our old pinball machine for $50 last year....she then saw one just like it on one of those shows ...for over 5k ....I'm starting to wish I had saved more stuff. I just recently (in the last 10 years) started saving some of my higher end designer clothes for my niece b/c I know she would love them in another 10 years. She is actually wearing a pair of my guess jeans from high school...funny how it all comes back around.

That's so sweet! And what little girl didn't have a crush on Greg Brady? Although my first crush was Donny Osmond LOL.
I must be weird...although I did have a crush on Greg and Donny....also 2 of the Gibb brothers, BJ from BJ and the bear and many others
my heart belonged to a mysterious dark, rebellious, bad boy... Racer X...who turned out to be Speed Racers highly unappreciated, misunderstood, long lost brother.
My attraction to bad boys started very young.
