I'm sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place. Please move it if so.

I have a question that I know you guys have the answer to.

What exactly is a shill?

And is it against Casinomeisters rules to be registered and post as if you're a regular player when you actually work for a casino/or gaming site that you're really trying to promote?

Thanks for any feedback.

from the thefreedictionary.com:
One who poses as a satisfied customer or an enthusiastic gambler to dupe bystanders into participating in a swindle

From dictionary.com
a person who poses as a customer in order to decoy others into participating, as at a gambling house, auction, confidence game, etc.

That's pretty much it. A shill-like post would be "hey, i just came across this casino, it has a great bonus - what do you think?" And the URL goes straight to some funkified portal or white label casino, and the poster is the webmaster of either one. This happens quite often. Or when two or more posters feign a conversation on how great a casino is, and it's the same person having a conversation with himself (or with an employee of the casino).

It's really quite funny when these people get busted out. :D

Yes. If you are pretending you are merely a player, and you are saying how great xyz casino is, and you are an employee of xyz casino, that's deceptive and being deceptive is not a good thing.

But there are employees, who are players, and they post as such. I don't have a problem with that at all.

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for the quick reply. :)

So, would that be something like this rummyroyal(.com)?

No - the OP is only asking a legit question. If he were an employee of RR, then that would be a little odd. The only person who has mentioned RR is Simmo!, and he's a moderator - not a shill ;)

Daera, do you have reason to believe that JimRummy is associated with that (or another) particular gaming site?

Did he post at your board, too?

So ban me :p

Actually good timing. Someone called me a "paid shill" for Casinomeister on another board today too so it must be true! Where's me money then dude? ;)

I wasn't referring at all to Simmo.

But after a quick search on google and finding the exact same thing being posted all over the net... and in one case answered much like Simmo did but by the person that first posted. I came to think the original poster was a shill.

My mistake I guess.

I guessed where you were coming from. In actual fact, I thought exactly the same thing, but decided "benefit of the doubt" was in order. Normally you can expect a follow-up that gives the game away, though not yet in this case. Maybe I just got unlucky and did the job for the OP :) Interestingly, I've seen a very similar post on other forums, so you could well be right, but if so, credit to the OP in knowing how to spam well :D

Not to worry Simmo. Bryan had those nice VP hits, so our paycheques for this week are looked after.

At least he was original, lol. :)
