I just received this email from Wagershare: I wonder if the casinos are actually closing down or just moving to another Affiliate program

Important Affiliate Announcement:

The Removal of Piggs Casino & Jackpots in a Flash from WagerShare

Dear Affiliates,

On the 30th of July, we will be removing Piggs Casino and Jackpots in a Flash from the WagerShare affiliate programme.

As a result, we ask you to please make sure that you replace any links and creative that you have for these two brands with marketing material for any of the other WagerShare partner brands. You will find a wide selection of banners, text links and other marketing creative in the WagerShare Media Library.

Please also be aware, that any traffic sent to Piggs Casino or Jackpots in a Flash after this date will not be tracked, although affiliates will still earn commission on players delivered prior to July 30th.

If you would like any more information about these changes please contact your affiliate manager or our support team.

Kind Regards,

The WagerShare Team

I wonder whether this is related to the operator, Casino Enterprises in Swaziland, losing the North Gauteng High Court case last year, preventing it from offering its services to South African players based on the "point of consumption" ruling from the court?

As far as I am aware Piggs Peak Casino in Swaziland ( Casino Enterprises ) sold Piggs Casino, Mummys Gold and Jackpots in a Flash about a year before their court case.
They have actually recently started offering other currencies on Piggs Peak Casino now.

Perhaps they are buying the brands back......

News to me...I guess it made sense for Casino Enterprises to shed these brands seeing as their main market was closed to them.

Do you know who bought them? Licensing? Software?

All I know is that they actually sold them when they were going strong on the Rand side ( before the whole court case etc ) as they felt that they wanted to concentrate on the Rand side of their business which was obviously the money spinner at the time.
I recall management mentioning that they didn't make much on the other currencies and it was expensive regarding royalties etc. I somehow think they might be regretting their decision now though.
I have no clue who bought them, but I have sent an email to Wager Share asking if the casinos are closing down or just moving to another Affiliate Program. I will post more info here if they respond to my email.

I am still no closer to finding out whether they are actually closing their doors or just moving affiliate programs.

I got a response from Wager Share but they did not answer my question - they simply said again that we must remove all links.

I then went onto live chat at Piggs Casino and got the following response:

Our support team will be with you shortly. You are currently number 1 in the queue. We estimate that you will be answered within 8 seconds.

You are now chatting with 'Benji'

Benji: Hello.

Benji: How may I assist you?

Heather: Hi, I am an affiliate of yours and got an email from Wahgershare yesterday

Heather: oops wagershare

Heather: Am I correct in saying that your casino is closing on the 1 July 2012

Heather: Need to know if you are just moving awy from Wager Share or actually closing down?

Benji: Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We definitely are not closing.

Benji: We do not communicate with wagershare directly on a support level.

Benji: It would be advisable for you to contact Wagershare directly for any further queries relating to the email you have received Heather.

Heather: ok, Thanks Benji

Benji: You are most welcome Heather

Of course this does not necessarily mean anything because the support staff are often the last to know what is going on.
I have emailed Wager Share again to ask them to answer my question properly - they have read my email but not responded.

2 minutes after making the post above I received the following email from Wagershare:

From: Wagershare Support [mailto:support@wagershare.com]
Sent: 02 July 2012 18:01
To: Topboss
Subject: RE: Piggs Casino and Jackpots in a Flash

Hi Heather,

The casinos are no longer part of our casino programme. They are not closing down but are not being managed by any other affiliate programme.

Many thanks,

WagerShare
