Hello,

I'm a recovering gambling addict.

And i have numerous accounts at online casinos, all self excluded now due to gambling problem now (lets say... every available MGA license). I used a antidepressant (for 4 years) that made me impulsive (i see now...), i did stop for a while with that medicines because of the side effects and the gambling addiction also suddenly did go after a while... the urge did go away. On advice of the doctor i started again with the medication (because we did not linked the medicines with gambling and very impulsive behavior) same group of medication but another active ingredient and suddenly after a few days the impulsive behavior did came back and also the urge to gamble... with as result that i did lost in a couple of days € 3,600 in total, while for MONTHS this behavior was gone. I had sometimes a little fall back while there was a trigger, but then i lost €100 and felt bad, closed my account and i did go on with life and saw that as something that could happen, but i thought then about strategy's to avoid this in the future. The doctor advised me to directly stop taking those pills, i did stop directly... but now i see all damage i made after a few days. And also literally the horror where i was in for months after placing one bet.

Unfortunately, i will not be able to recover a big part of my lost money because there is literally no ground for that (or can there be any?). But there are some casinos that get my attention, and from some online casinos is did got a refund (after asking and a lot of effort) because i did let them know about my gambling addiction, or did give them big signs of gambling addiction (live chat) and they did not do anything. I got some refunds from those online casinos.

Also did i asked one online casino to be self excluded forever, but because i did not mentioned about my gambling problem they did only self excluded me at that particular brand and they did not self excluded me across the license.

Another online casino did i ask to be self excluded due to gambling problem and they did that they even called the police on me because they did think i was suicidal, months later they accepted me at their sister casino without any problem... they even gave me a VIP bonus and they decline to refund me now. It is the same company, same owners... (they also decline to be from the same owner, but i saw on ICIJ Offshore Leaks that they are) but only a different license did i found out. After my complaint about it and screenshots that they are linked to each other (while they said they aren't) all their employees did suddenly removed the evidence from LinkedIn and they did suggested me to not to complain about it on affiliate forums after i did? Also the same company is showing on both job application forms, they also have the same job offers. Very suspicious and we are here talking about MGA and UKGC licensed online casinos, the above did happen to me in the past also... but then in a better way; same company, different license and they did block my registration because i was self excluded due to gambling problem.

And then we have the Curacao licensed online casinos, most of them did not offer me bank transfers and card payments what was very weird in my opinion, later i found out that that was probably because they are offering me services while their license is EXPLICITLY mentioning that offering services to me (Netherlands) is not allowed by their licensee. I complained about it but they decline to refund me, i contacted now curacao e gaming... i will see what they are gonna say.

What do you think? Do i need to put much more effort to get my losses back, or is this just useless energy.

I think you have a valid case to fight to get your money back but I don’t know how it would work.

I wish you the best of luck and keep fighting the good fight. You have this!

Guess best what you can do for yourself is totally forget gambling and look forward. You have played your money, it don't help your problem with gambling if you would get some of it back and based on your story, no regulations been clearly violated.

Take your losses and cut all chances to gamble anymore.

Not really got much hope. The curacaos won't really do much either as you went against terms and conditions which you agreed on sign up. Cut your losses and walk away and move on - Make sure you learn from this mistake.

Good to see other members on the site mocking problem gamblers - Its not exactly helpful.
