Really really sad

Something really terrible happened here yesterday to a family which I know really well, we live in a tight knit community where every person knows each other, the boyfriend of a 21 year old woman shot dead her sister and left the 21 year old, with 2 very young children, critically ill in hospital ( he shot her aswell). The sister he shot dead turned 18 last week, everyone here is in total shock as this is a very quiet village, prayers for the 21 year old to make a recovery, she has a baby and a toddler My thoughts go out to their mother and father and immediate family.

oh no, that's terrible! You know, you see stuff like this on the news but it's more distant if it's in a place you haven't been and people you've never met. It's important to remember that even if you don't know them, it's still tragic. These are real people with friends and family, and it must be devastating for everyone who knew them.

That is very true Chay, everyone here says that it's something you wouldn't expect to happen so close to home, I know the girls mother really really well, I can't even imagine what she must be going through, I have shed a tear for her because it's the family who are also victims, I have two girls and knowing what has happened makes me fearful of when they grow up, what type of fellas that they'll choose to be with, it makes me sick to the stomach what that brute has done to them girls and their family

Cast your mind back several years and the incident that procured the UK gun ban on any firearm that could hold more than two cartridges/shells (double barrelled shotguns), Michael Ryan and Hungerford here we had a man that was a member of a local gun club and had the relative firearm licences, and no-one deemed it necessary to question him when he started stacking up on ammo for his AK-47`s etc, 7.62mm rounds that are expensive and hardly the ammo that your average target shooter would use, even more bizarre was the use of assault rifles for target shooting also.

The warning signs are there, and when a community gets even closer it increases the chances many-fold of rooting out possible candidates for any future incidents.

My thoughts are with the family of yet another reflection of the fucked up world we live in.

/sigh, once again a licence to kill has been issued by those who couldn`t be arsed to do a psychological profile on someone, that they just deemed of sound enough mind to own a shotgun .

It seems that incidents like this are becoming more frequent, that is awful, my thoughts go out to the family and friends.

Head shot killed the little girl.

As a father I don't know how you get over something as terrible as that.

The girl with the kids was holding one of her children when he shot her, she raised her arm to protect the child, and he shot her in the arm, I have found out that she is doing well and will survive, thank God.

My uncle drove a lorry (he passed away recently from cancer) his little girl (5 year old) ran outside but was un noticed going outside, she was in behind the wheels of the lorry at the back, my uncle reversed the lorry killing his daughter, it really is awful when accidents like this happen aswell

What gets me is, the media thinks it's THEIR right to bother the survivors' family and the survivor. Last weekend we had a an incident where a mother was forced (the father had tied the mother up and placed her in their car) to watch as the father shot their 3 year old daughter and himself then burned the the daughter and himself to death in their home. Now the media is bothering the woman's family at work and the woman herself. For Christsake, this woman just endured one of life's most agonizing crises... leave her the f*ck alone! You do NOT have the right to hound her OR her family.

Sometimes the media is sooooo wrong!

The sister is doing well, she went through a major operation the same day, I haven't seen her mother as of yet and I don't know if her daughter is out of hospital yet..
