Hiya :)

Sorry for making a thread about this im sure most of you could care less but its a way for me to close a chapter and start fresh

I just want to say thanks for all the friendly people I have met in my time here. Even to the ones I butted heads with.

I dont want to go into a huge spiel or throw mud.

The reason for me quitting is what I allowed happen. I played a slot that I think everyone should stay away from. And last night something happened with it that just took all the air out of me.

I feel like the last 4 weeks of my gaming with all the new slots was a huge mistake. I spoke about them on the forum as jackpot slots and how they have changed. It turned into a test to just see if they were really that bad. Into a chase that I couldnt believe I had 475 out of 500 bonuses pay under 20x or something along those lines.

And finally, I feel casino's are taking us for granted. Long gone are they days where loyalty matters.

Im a firm believer, if you are going cry about things and dont like them, you should do something about it. For me, I have closed every single gaming account aside from 2. 2 of them I have left open but am on a TAB in case i change my mind later on down the road.

I feel like my posts have become way too negative and poisonous and its not good for the forum or people reading it.

I have contacted my work and have increased my hours back to full time as it will help me transition away from slots that I have been so used to playing.

So with that being said, I wont be here on the forum any longer either. Maybe it will be for good or maybe it will be a break when I relax for a month or two and get away from it all and relax..

Maybe see you guys around sometime again

Take care :)

:( Sorry to see you go, you've been such a good and valued part of the CM community BUT I totally understand and respect your reasons and applaud the changes you've decided to make.

Good luck and happy trails to you!

PS. I'll update your status to Quit Gambling. If you ever want to change that just drop us a line.

I think it's a good idea to have a break but it is sad that you will not be here any more. I enjoyed reading your post.

Good luck, and because you don't have a gambling problem I hope it is ok to say I will see you some time here again.

I am so sorry to see you go from here but I can totally understand. I found it slightly difficult to read about your slot adventures recently only because I thought that your losses where unsustainable long term. Saying anything would just come across as presumptuous and not really any of my business.

I hope that your experience has not impacted on your life long term and I wish you all the luck in the world in future

I for one will miss your posts and I will be sorry to see you go. I totally understand your reasons for doing so and I wish you the best of luck in life and any new adventures you undertake, take care and hard as it is put it behind you, don't dwell on the losses as it will only bring you down - a new chapter starts right here and now. Be happy :)

I for one will miss you :(

No more rigged 'banter', no actually make that no more rigged factual speeches!

I hope to see you back in the future, maybe gambling on a smaller scale/budget and without any exploding rocks to be seen.

Not encouraging you to return (to slotting(), would be good to see you back even as a total "none gambler", there are a few around who still enjoy some laughs and banter with us who never do a single spin

Take Care!

Crap eh :(:(:(. I hope these show up in your e-mail. I'm going to miss you! You know, you're off the wall smart and have the ability to go far in life! I don't know what your life is outside of here, but have you ever thought of going back to school and designing games? I think you would be good at it. What ever you chose, you will do good, that I have no doubt. No ones going to be able to match your dry sense of humor. lol. I wish you the best and hope you pop in sometime to let us know how you are doing! <3

I hate that that game did you in. I'm sorry. I think you tried to beat it. And honestly I hate that fkn game now more than ever cuz it made you go away.
I will be sad but understand.
Thank you for your posts. Your advice. And most of all the way you confronted and responded to the realities of gambling and the posters on here.

I will miss your posts.

Stevie

I posted already a few points in the Bonanza thread.

Every gamblers runs the risk to be taken in by a game so much, that he/she forgoes reason and limits. Happened to me the last time in December during the VS marathon on Astro Cats from Lightning Box. Wanted to see the full bonus feature once and sacrificed nearly $2K to get a measly 15x bet win. :o

I can see that's exactly what happened to you with Bonanza. First you did pretty well and than you wanted that MONSTER WIN so bad, that you forgot everything around you. I am pretty sure it can happen to me again as well, luckily I am not prone to go into tilt mode too often. :D

Taking a break always help, that goes for all matters in life. Enjoy your time off the reels, it will be fun! :D

To be honest (lockinlove, please, no offense) I think the game is genius, a goldmine for BTG. I play it in every session and get no better or worse runs than any other HV slot. How many bad bonus rounds do we endure on DoA, BoD or similar? It comes with the volatility.

I wagered yesterday nearly $2K on Bonanza with a $150 deposit and was still up by $50. Played it later again for nearly $1.5K and was up by $180 at the end. And my bets were either $1 or $2 all the time. Went in the VS race from "not-ranked" to place 221.

But it can go veeery long with no Free Spins and quite often when it finally hits them you end up with a measly result.

As with any other slot, staying too long will always be a killer.

That's good lockinlove that you have come to your senses hopefully it is before it was too late. I myself has cut down somewhat since the lost of netent and with how bad it is lately I am thinking it is time to go do something else or play live more.

Now as Jono's post stated trying to do a smaller scale/budget and with how things are I am willing to do 20 or 50 bucks split with any of the senior members here like jono, or we will let mcgameboy play immortal romance since he seems to do well haha.;)

Not wanting to derail this topic into a Bonanza topic (not sure if the OP is too happy to be reminded of this piece of filth) but at least with other high variance games the bonuses do drop in more frequently.

I am not sure if others play like me, but I usually play until I hit a bonus round till I move slot. And that can be a killer on Bonanza. Very cleverly designed but not ethical in my opinion.

I was just thinking about the ethics part as I was doing my laundry, and actually came back to post about it. At what point does a casino say " you know what, this might not be a good game for our players"?

One casino rep here said that they will not be hosting the game after he played it in free mode and was wondering if the bonus round even exists!

That casino should be made casino of the year!

I log on to hear this??

Although pleased that Lockinlove has made this decision which has been plaguing her for months -and in no small part fuelled by chasing a monster hit on that game- I for one am very sad to see her leave this community of course.

I will miss her biting wit and straight-talking posts for sure. I hope to see her return in a couple of years or something to tell us she's beaten her demons and tell us about her personal journey. And if not, thanks for the laughs Lockinlove

I am sorry to see you go, but i totally understand and get why you have chosen this.

I too have had many periods over the years where i wanted to quit and stop but i just couldn't cos i enjoy the slots too much even when it gets really bad.

I am proud for you that you are making this big step and i wish you all the best and I hope your not a stranger on the forum I will miss you and your posts.

Take care :)

Yes, I will miss your observations and input too. If you aren't enjoying it, you are doing the right thing. It does seem to be getting harder out there and the feelings of frustration and disappointment are sometimes too hard to take. Even if you're winning it can take too much time from you.

Good luck and see you maybe when you update us in the future!

I was going to post in the morning, but god knows why I was half expecting you to come back. Now it seem you really quit, at least for now, please know you will be missed around here. And if you ever decide to come back, most of us will be here waiting for you ;)

Best of luck Jenny, and please pop in once in a while to let us know how the non-gambling life is treating you

Good to see you make a firm decision lockinlove..
And I fully feel where you are coming from..
After my mini break I had a surprisingly good week at some casino's but after that it all turned bad again..

Online slotting is defo not as good as it was at some stage..
They seem more volatile than ever and 500-1000 spin intervals between bonusses is the norm, to get then a "whopping" 10x stake return..

I hope you find something else to keep you occupied..

Dunno how the landbased casino's are in your area, maybe play there and bring 100 dollars or something and when busted just go home..
So you can still play a bit every month without being murdered by monstrous slots like Bonanza and Vikings go Beserk..

Will be missing your posts tho..

Wish you all the best!!!!!

Mark.

Gutted - she was a interesting poster and shared the good and the bad with her wins, fair play to her.

The main thing that I will take from her recent posts though is how absolutely god awful the new range of slots are. People will argue the contrary but I truly truly believe that the latest output from Netent and MG as well as the others are purposely tailored towards low/mid variance output

This means that the days of being a few K day and then hitting that big win to get up straight again are over, or they arn't, but they are much, much less common. And I believe that this is a purposeful move from the online casino industry to lower cashouts generally across the board for the Casinos which equates to a better bottom line for them.

This slot comes close to"illegal" territory if you ask me.
It is designed to make people tilt it seems.
A very very very dangerous slot, and whoever programmed this should be proud (not).

I played it only a few times, Thank God.
Got bored quickly because of the insanely annoying cowboyish dreadful music and the sheer impossible task to trigger a bonus.
GOL GOL GOL all the time, yeah right.

Yep, sorry to see you go, Lockinlove. But kudos to you for knowing when to give it a break. There are many who lack this ability. Good luck and best wishes, happy trails, and you are welcome to come back when things are going better for you.

It's hard to give up any addiction or intense interest , cold turkey. I tried.. but I am happy with my compromise. Big cutback in spend and multiple days off. I have cemented that deal in my head. Maybe if you come back , really commit to something like that I think.

Hi it was (is) a brave and right choice in my opinion. I noticed your last posts were angry and frustrated (not having a go at you at all ) but when the fun stops ... its time to stop so they say.

And knowing when enough is enough is really important so I totally respect your choice! I took a long break from gambling (around 2 years ) I did come back but with extreme measures in place to curtail my habit and this has worked for me. Who knows if it would or should work for you in the future but right now I suppose its about getting the head clear and mind straight. Never always agreed with all your posts, but respected them and you are certainly respected by probably everyone here. Wish you the best for the future as I know many others will!

Its a great feeling being bet free when it gets too much :D:thumbsup:

It's always a sad day when a great contributor to this even greater forum decides to call it quits. :(

It's a great shame that you have reached this point LIL. Because it wasn't all that long ago that you started a thread where you stated that you were genuinely thinking about calling it a day, despite being a consistent winner on the slots and being on a winning streak at the time. And this was at a time long before Bonanza became the nemesis that finally broke your gambling spirit. If only you had trusted your normally excellent instincts, maybe you'd have taken the short break back then under a white cloud instead of leaving abruptly (and possibly for good) under a dark cloud now.

If there is anything good to come out of this, it is that you have quickly realised that slots had stopped being fun and you didn't waste time taking decisive action. A case of better late than never. Someone less smart than you may have gotten too stubborn for their own good, continued to chase the dream (and the losses) and end up doing possibly irreparable damage. You also took ownership of the blame when you said you allowed it to happen, when it could have been so much easier to act the sore loser, screaming blue murder and "it's rigged I tell ya!" and basically passing the blame onto the casinos/BTG/whoever for the horrific run that brought you to this decision to quit. Your final post could have so easily been a parting shot and a rant, but it wasn't. It was objective, well thought out and you made some excellent points and observations. Fair play to you for that.

Part of me hopes that one day, you will return. But there's another part of me that hopes that you don't (and I mean that respectfully). Regardless of whatever happens in the future, you made a great contribution to this forum and there are plenty here who thank you greatly for it. You will be missed.

I wish you the best of luck, and most importantly, good health and happiness. Take care LIL. :):notworthy
