QT & bank statements - Not Cool.

Ok, what's up with QT and their ID that shows up on your bank statement? This is totally uncool. If you hadn't noticed, it shows up as:

Memo: web-support24.com/<insert FULL debit card number here>

WTF?

I'm enrolled in my bank's "paperless" program, so I don't get a paper statement. But for those that do, you really need to watch and either shred or burn your statements in the event that you don't keep them on file for future reference. Sure, it doesn't have any other info attached to it such as a CVV# and so forth, but I'm sure there's other ways around that, too.

I remember years ago merchants would include your full CC/debit card number on receipts, but they soon switched over to just printing out the last 4 numbers of the card you used.

Why? It's all about security......it's the 21st century, QT. Wake up and smell the coffee!

I just checked my bank statement ( I went paperless when I opened my new account with this bank).
Here's what shows up on my statement (no credit/debit card number):

xxxxxxxxxx QT UMW COLLECTS
xxxxxxxxxx 06/28/10
TRACE #-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I received a notice from my bank a few weeks ago stating after July 7th they were going to block any and all overseas transactions which could be categorized as gambling/gaming transactions. I'm not sure if this will affect my deposits to QT and my limited number of transactions to Intertops (which I did okay with the bank when I first opened my account).

re:memo...Mine has always come through as QT UMW collects (even through my old bank, just checked that one too).
add on: also checked, my wire transfer from QT came through as wire transfer from Chargestream LTD.

Winbig I think personally it is up to your bank what they put on their statements. On my last incoming wire, my bank put six lines of crap on my statement listing countries, numbers and whatever, stood out like a sore thumb. and all previous wires said 'internatl wire transfer' and that was it. It's like a big flag alert for future follow-up I bet. I've already had my bank ask about out of country debits and boy it fries my ass. they didn't even have the nu-nus to say why. I can't wait till next time.
