*Proof* Two RTG casinos with different RTP

First, I must say that I "stole" these from the "winner screenshots" thread. Thanks to CM member kauphy for posting them.

What's interesting is that, unlike slots, Keno works like all card based games with mandatory fixed odds. You cannot legally and ethically change the odds. So they changed the payouts instead. This is a much easier and better proof to see which RTP your RTG casino is running than the "double pears" trick in the Fruit Frenzy game.

so can we figure out the diferent spread between the two from that screen shot i think the low is 95% hi is 98% and i might be off on those numbers

I think it has already been verified that RTG casino's have the option on setting their RTP's between 92 and 97 %, having 3 choices in between those percentages, I believe Dogboy verified this quite some time ago (I could be wrong though).

I think it was 92, 95 and 98. The base RTP was 95 and they had to ask if they wanted one of the other.

i defenetly would want to know but does any rtg casino's tell us ?? land casino's always claim to have loosest slots but cn we find out exactly the %% pays while we visit them in a given day [i dont know] good find though

Thats the "rub", I highly doubt many if any will divulge their settings.

From the screen shots provided, it appears to play at sites where the words Game Over light up vs. the one that doesn't. Meaningless I'm sure but it caught my eye.

Maybe the first site displayed just needs to change the bulbs in their software.

I know I will stick to iNet until we have heard more about this. I think it was at Sloto the two pears at Fruit Frenzy was found a while back.

The 4/6 pays 20% more and the 5/6 and 6/6 are paying 11% more. This seems quite big.

What we still don't know is if the lower paying casino is running the lowest RTP or the normal RTP and if the higher paying casino is running the normal RTP or the highest one.

Since there are 3 RTP options with RTG, it would be nice to find another different one, so we'd know for sure which RTP each casino is running.

I agree with that and never thought that the double pears thing was reliable. This Keno payout table, on the other hand, leaves no doubt.

Did you notice any difference in the video poker payouts? Because there SHOULD be a difference there too. Thats another game where they can only adjust the RTP with the payout and cannot touch the odds.

The problem is that they can change the settings for individual games, so they could have the low setting for Keno, yet use the highest for slots. The two pears observation only shows that the casino has asked for a setting other than the default supplied by RTG, which gives 95% for slots. It later emerged that the two pear setting was the lowest "land kiosk" setting that we were initially told would not be seen online, but later dismissed as a "business decision" that any RTG casino could freely make without any objections being raised by RTG. As players, we were never supposed to know which setting was in use, and it was a human error that lead to such an obvious display anomaly in that one slot that made it easy to spot that the settings had been changed.

Yes, you are a bit wrong.
When the reels are spinning - THAT is just eye candy.
But the reel lay-outs themselves are fixed for each RTP%.
So we know the reel layout where the 2 adjacent pairs appears is for a different RTP version of the game than the ones where they don't appear.

I have to say I'm a bit surprised that after all these years, someone who really cares about these RTPs hasn't sat down & plotted out the reel lay-outs.
It is quite time-consuming - but it definitely can be done.

I think the issue is the fact that the player has no way of knowing which RTP model they're actually playing.

Personally speaking I avoid this problem by refusing to play any software where the RTPs are not listed on a game-by-game basis.

Probably because it has no effect on the RNG, and therefore no effect on the RTP. and thinking that the game designers are putting the exact symbols representing the RTP in the reel animations, when it's virtually useless to do so and the RTP can be changed at any time, is, well, far fetched to say the least.

That's a lot of extra work for absolutely nothing since the results are decided before the virtual reels get stopped. (It's easy to prove, spin your favorite slot, wait until your computer sends the signal to the server and then quickly close the game before the reels get stopped. When you log back, you'll see the result of your "spin" even though it never actually took place).

Once I was playing MG and the game crashed when I clicked the spin button. The reels didn't even start spinning. I restarted the software and when I went back to the same game, I had the free spins feature waiting for me. lol It was on the old Lord of the Rings slot.

Myself and many others believe that the reel strips directly determine the RTP of the slots on most softwares.
(The exception being those with any sort of random bonus award, such as a "picking feature")

I can't remember - but it definitely wasn't an RTG or MG slot.
With their slots I am 99% sure the spinning animations ARE a correct representation of the reel-strips.

I have no idea who made that video or what make the machine is - but it probably is true (not that I watched it all).

However, in this thread I am talking generally about online Bonus Video Slots, and specifically those on MG and RTG (though I believe most (not ALL) other softwares work the same way.

KK I'm fairly new here but I've read a lot of the forum archives. I know that you've been believing that for years and you even have a chart with odds based on various reels on your website (which I think is cool). I'm not even going to try to convince you.

I have to say that KK is right on this.

The video is correct in the fact that the RNG decides which symbols come in but only on the 1 line. for example if all the reels have thirty symbols then the RNG will give something like 15,12,30,02,09 the symbols relating to those number will appear on the centre line, or whichever line is chosen as the display line, the symbols immediately before and after that will appear above and below and all payouts are made.

The very easy way to check this is to spin the reels and map out just one reel and you will always see the symbols in the same order. to change the RTP you just add or remove one of these symbols say an extra cherry on reel one which will give more cherry wins thus increasing the RTP. The RTP and the RNG are not connected, the RNG is random (we hope) and the RTP is a mathematically deduced number. Wizard of Odds has a page showing how to work out the RTP if you know all the symbols on all reels.

The only slots where each symbol is individual is on games like Jack Hammer where each symbol will have its own number, yet again completely random and the RTP would be changed by just changing one of the individual reels

For the slot designer to do it any other way is giving themselves far too much work.
