Problems with QT again

I'm getting so fed up with this, that I'm just considering quitting gambling altogether.
I made 5 deposits to QT using my debit card last week, everything is hunky dory, my balance in my bank account matches with the QT deductions. Go forward 5 days.....now I have 3 of them that have been deducted, then over in my pending file in my bank account I have 3 duplicates of the same, oh and that isn't all  I also have 5 more charges in my pending that are from QT, that may or not be dups because the $ figures don't match exactly, they are a $1.00 and some odd cents off and not less than, but more than the original deposits. Which has never happened before.

To top it off......I made 2 small deposits @Grand Prive and they have done the same thing.....2 duplicates and one I don't know what the hell it is but it's defiantly from GP. Just like QT they are odd amounts.....more than, not less than.

Qt does this at least once a month, I email them and they say don't be concerned they will drop off, it's just a hold. Well....hold or not, they are tying up my funds for 5 to 7 days. It's a friggin nightmare to try to keep straight as to what is legit and what isn't and then wait for them to drop off, meanwhile holding my money hostage.
I get pissed off and don't use them for a couple of weeks, then I try it again and everything is as it should be...then the next time, they do it to me again.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I haven't made a debit purchase at Quicktender... actually, ever.

But, are they charging bank accounts in odd amounts to make the transactions look like generic purchases? If so, that's probably the problem.

You purchase $100. Quicktender authorizes a transaction for $100. That creates the hold. Then QT sends the transaction for 99.99.

The bank's software doesn't recognize these two transactions at the same thing, so it clears the transaction, but the hold stays in place for a few days.

There would be two technical ways to address the issue:

a) QT could authorize for the exact amount they're going to bill
b) The bank could allow a little bit of "variance" when releasing these holds.

Good luck with either.

I knew about the odd amounts and they have screwed me with the holds before but I find it odd that instead of the usual (example 99.98 on a 100.00 deposit, the amount is 100.46. Wonder what is up with that? Do they think the banks in the US are on to them so they made this change to deflect attention? Also......I can't help but think that something strange is going on with all the withdrawal issues with the Rivals, so I wonder .:eek:

I know......the answer is not to use them  and I think I've had enough of their damn holds and trying to keep my account straight as to what is legit and what is not and waiting 5-7 days for them to release the holds.
I'm going to try Netspend and then if that doesn't work out.....I'm done. :D

BB28, I use Netspend and have never had a bit of trouble with it. However, you can't have your money sent from QT to Netspend because Netspend doesn't take wires. Get a Wired Plastic card. It costs a little more to use but they take wires and you can set it up as a funding entity for QT as well as to receive wires. The website is www.wiredplastic.com. Works great for me and can be filled at most places that fill Netspend.

annie....

I'm confused on why you would do this......

You're paying QT to withdrawal money to your Wired card, and then paying Wired to get your money from them?

Because winbig, that is the only way I can get my money from QT. It is the same as going from QT to a bank account. I don't fund QT, I use my Netspend card to deposit when I play. I just use QT for all withdrawals. With the problems with banks accepting international wires, this is the best way to go for me. The fees are basically the same and I don't have to worry about a nosy bank in my business.

Way before all this mess with ACH taking forever, I tried it once. After about two weeks of waiting I had it reversed and sent QT/Wired Plastic. Took about a week to get it, so it works for me.

Update

Well all the legit charges have cleared my bank account but it shouldn't come as a surprise to find that they still have 2 pending charges which are duplicates so of course I don't have access to those funds.

Oh and just to top it off.....for the first time ever they have overcharged me to the tune of $2.94. Yes I know it's not a huge amount, but it pisses me off. Their fee's are 5%, then add on the odd cents overcharges, they are making quite a nice little profit I would guess. More than likely I'm only one of many who got over charged a few dollars. Let's say they did this to 1000 of their customers @$3.00 a pop. $3000.00 extra profit.:eek: I prefer to get kissed before I get screwed.
Netspend here I come........ I hear you calling my name. If you turn out to have nasty little surprises it's time to just hang it up, altogether.

What a crock of sh*t. Don't they realize not only are they overcharging customers, but they're also LOSING CUSTOMERS from the people that can't deposit with their $100 gift cards? So then the person trying to deposit with that gift card figures that it doesn't work with QT and goes elsewhere...

Another Update on my QT

This is the response I received from QT about the overcharges. Funny to me that I've never been charged fees by anyone other than the 5% QT charges. Can anyone else shed any light on this? Has this happened to anyone else? Can the processor themselves hit you with charges? Also finally the pending (hold) charges have been removed from my bank account, that is the only thing good about all this.

Another update....I'm been looking at the extra charges a little more closely, all the overcharges come out to exactly .080% of each total transaction.

Reply from QT: Thank you for the provided information.

Please be informed that QuickTender charges only %5 fee for the credit card deposits. The additional charges in question are most probably the transaction fees charged by your card issuer. Our fee is subject to any fees and charges as imposed by any third-party being an intermediary between QuickTender Account Holder and QuickTender Payment System. You may find this information on the Help Section as well.

Please be advised that the pending charges in question will not be settled and disappear from your bank account according to the terms and regulations of your issuer / bank. Unfortunately, due to our legal and regulatory obligations, we are unable to contact a third party regarding your account activity.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation.

Best regards,

Jim

I've been doing some research on CC processing fees and it certainly looks like that is where the odd amounts added on are coming from. .080%.

I'd just like to know who collected this fee, was it my banks processor or was it QT's processor and why now, when I've never had that happen before? Of course QT covers their as* in their terms and conditions. Quote from their email to me. "Our fee is subject to any fees and charges as imposed by any third-party being an intermediary between QuickTender Account Holder and QuickTender Payment System". There are making it very clear that a 3rd party can charge you whatever they want.
As with the other few options that are available to us in the US......we are taking a huge chance on getting screwed. Probably some of you think I'm making a big deal out of nothing, after all it was only around $3 bucks total......but who knows what it will be next week or next month.

It's hard to believe that these extra fees haven't happened to someone else this week and they haven't followed up with a post. I'm amazed.

At one point QT was issuing a separate window after a deposit with wording such as "Your credit card will only be charged...." and it was always an amount a tiny bit less than what I had deposited. It's not enough of a difference for it to be being charged in Euros (which is what SOME of the MG casinos do...talk about a nightmare in your bank statement trying to reconcile THOSE transactions!) so I think you may have hit the nail on the head with regard to it being QT trying to confuse the banks. And by the way, Netspend works like a charm every time. I don't think you can use it for withdrawals, however?

You can WD from a casino via ACH to Netspend without any fees from NS

It's not only QT that this happens on as I have been noticing these extra amounts for about the past year now...when I use my MC Bank Debit Card at 3Dice or ClubWorld and say I make a $20.00 deposit on their site with it and then I immediately go to my Banks web page so I know the correct amount to write down in my checking account and there it will say $20.16 or if I do one for $50.00 it will go thru on my bank account as $50.40, so it is either a Debit Card thing or a processor thing...

I think it's a processor thing. Everytime I deposit at Club World with my Netspend when they tell me it went through, they say it will be charged different than what I deposited. Say if I deposit $50 they will charge my card $49.94. Never more, always a lesser amount. I think I read somewhere that it was so that the charges would go through without the banks catching on.

If ACH didn't take so long, that would be the way to go. Netspend takes ACH deposit but not wires.

I guess I have been very lucky. I have had nothing strange happen with my cards.

Hey Anniemac.......well until this past round with QT I was getting charged a few cents less than the actual amount, but this past round was different. I was charged more. It rounds out to about .080% of each transaction.
I'd like to know who it is doing the charging, but unless someone who is in the know posts that answer we probably won't ever know.
Just another way for someone to screw us.....

Winbig, I meant from the casinos by way of ACH withdrawals taking so long or at least from Rivals casinos. I have a weekly amount sent to my Netspend card and it is deposited within 24 hours of when it was sent. It is the casino "processors" that hold things up or so we are told. :what:

That old song and dance is definitely getting old isn't it...it's absolutely amazing how other processors can make these transactions happen so fast but when it comes to a casino processor it just drags on and on...umm huh...

Answer about the extra charges

Well I finally found out where the extra charges are coming from. My bank is passing the fee on down to me. Also as I read it, the bank is supposed to notify me of the extra charges but of course they haven't.

This short summary explains it.
Effective April 2008, the conditions under which Visa USA (Visa) charges financial institutions its International Service Assessment (ISA) are changing. Previously, Visa only charged the ISA on international transactions that involved currency conversion. So, for example, if a cardholder used a Visa-branded debit card in Mexico and the transaction was converted from pesos to U.S. dollars, Visa would charge the card-issuing financial institution an ISA of 1%. On the other hand, if the merchant settled in U.S. dollars, the card-issuing financial institution would not be charged an ISA. With this change, however, Visa will now charge financial institutions an ISA on all international transactions regardless of whether there is a currency conversion. This is similar to the change MasterCard made a few years ago. However, instead of using two separate fees, Visa is charging financial institutions a different amount depending on whether the international transaction involves a currency conversion. If there is no currency conversion (what Visa labels a single-currency transaction) the ISA is 0.8% of the transaction; if there is a currency conversion (a multi-currency transaction) the ISA will continue to be 1% of the transaction. Visa defines an international transaction as a transaction where the issuers country (i.e., the card-issuing financial institutions country) is different than the merchants country. Thus, a transaction over the Internet could qualify as an international transaction.

Visa is not supposed to be charging ANY extra fees of any kind for overseas transactions....I just got an invite to a class action suit stemming from Visa charging fees for overseas purchases/transactions from 2003 through 2006. They estimate the suit to be in the multi millions. If anyone is interested, I can send the link for the class action suit website, just pm me.

Isn't that the one where you had to actually be overseas and used your Visa card?

Not according to the paperwork I got...it simply says "overseas transactions"...it doesn't specify that you had to be overseas when the transaction was made.

I just asked Villento and this is the response I got......

Unfrortunately, this only allowed if the amount is over $2999, then you will be able to do a wire transfer from this option but since the amount is $500 you will receive a regular mail check.
Leonie: Sorry, you will get it via UseMyWallet.

I wonder Winbig if this is only for certain casinos?
