I will stop answering to your posts as it is useless and a waste of my precious time.

The US is the only country where one gets pinned to the floor, handcuffed and having all cavities searched and interrogated for 1 hour because one dared to tell the border officer that the EMPTY ZIPPO lighter he was carrying was important to him, because it was a present from his late father! That's how far the paranoia in your country has progressed!

How about you call all Americans, including the military personnel, back to the country, lock the doors and then throw the keys into the ocean! And before you do it, deport all "illegals" as then you won't have anyone packing your bags at Walmart, cleaning your streets, emptying your trash bins, serving you at McDonalds, cleaning your houses and all other jobs you don't like to do yourself. That way you have to get up yourself and get active, will surely lead to a healthier life.

Once you've done all that, you can happily shoot each other with those guns you treasure so much and nobody from the outside will be there that you can blame!

You don't welcome anyone to your country, so you are not welcome anywhere else either...stay at home and the world will be a much better and more peaceful planet!

EDIT: to add to your president's words: "buy American, hire American .... stay in America."

Sayonara!

You have developed a twisted view of America.

Wow! That's some rant!

I have to say, though, that on several visits to various parts of the USA I have encountered nothing but courtesy and friendly curiosity....with the exception of a couple of rude New Yorkers and a frustrating experience with airport security in Rapid City of all places!

You have developed a twisted view of America.

I don't think so!

Take today's news: The fantastic US of A delivered tanks to pro-west rebel forces in Syria which will result in more chaos, more suffering and more refugees! But the USA at the same time bans indefinitely Syrian refugees from entering the USA.

So, tell me, who is the twisted one???

Emotions should never mask facts and basic logic. We are all in this together!

1. Google: Becoming a Mexican National--

If I am remembering correctly, there are at least three different standards/catagories with regard to the requirements one must meet to become a Mexican National. It takes anywhere from three to five years and individuals are assigned a standard based on birth origin. That is right. I said birth origin. Guess where Americans get catagorized? lol

2. Google: President Obama's Executive Orders on Immigration

You will gain some insight as to why it is so easy for illegals to make their way smoothly into a voting booth. (*SSN - Drivers Liscense - Taxation)
While on the topic of immigration, I suggest adding President Regan & President G. (papa) Bush to your search.

3. Funding to non profit organizations is not nor has it ever been a Constitutional Right. Planned Parenthood lost it's federal funding. Women have not lost the right to make a choice for or against abortion. Men have not gained the right to make a choice for or against abortion.

Cool! Now republicans want mentally ill people to have guns too! And Trump administration is blaming Obama for that military raid in Yemen. Wonder how long Obama will be blamed about everything before Trump takes the responsibility for americans that got killed under his presidency.

Trump is never responsible for anything unless it makes him look good...classic.

Somehow he will take credit for tom Brady's win this weekend.

Trump is innocent until proven guilty. If that happens then the judge is biased (probably watched too much liberal media) and must be replaced.

Good luck with your president who shows no respect whatsoever and behaves like a little baby, throwing the toys out of the pram the soon things don't go his way.

He can't handle opposition. Or criticism. whether in the form of comedy, journalism or in the ruling of the country.

But you can imagine that a guy like him who is so thin skinned is not gonna put up with dissent or criticism.

This tweet is one of the lesser, tamer ones.
He is so thin skinned that he will crack. He is on the world stage. There will be ridicule, opposition and criticism on a bigger scale. Let's hope he doesn't cause too much damage when he does crack.

As an aside....He has a big ego so you can imagine what it's like for him to go into a presidency with the lowest approval rating, losing the popular vote by 3 million, not having the crowd sizes he dreamt of, mass protests the next day of your inauguration where you can hear the protesters from the White House, more demonstrations throughout his second week.

Half the country has outright rejected his presidency. In a normal election, By this time the electors have accepted that their candidate didn't win. Not the case.

the coronation didn't go as well as he had planned in his head.

Did he tweet about the white supremacist that attacked the mosque in Canada last week? Or the children US troops killed in Yemen a few days ago?

Why would anybody even care what he tweets? The administation can't even get facts straight when they are prepared to say something (Bowling Green).

To be honest, as an American i would feel totally embarrassed to have him as president. The head of state repeatedly lying openly, spreading "fake news", inciting people, trying to discredit judges and much more....absolutely shameful and a disgrace for the country.

And the worst part, it is all part of his plan. Create chaos, misunderstandings, get people agitated, shut down critics etc to make it easier to pass his own agenda in the coming months and years.

BTW, I see the numerous Trump supporters have gone quiet.

I was not a Trump supporter but I will stand for my country. This thread seems

to be a "bashing Trump" thread but to me, an American, it feels like a bashing

the USA thread. I don't care to read more hatred towards our country.

Exactly the way I feel. I don't bash other countries because I don't have a horse in the race. We as Americans are just hoping for success for our country!!!

US has too much influence in the rest of the world. And when you elect these insane people to lead your country, it has really bad consequences elsewhere too. So your elections really matter for the world. I had absolutely nothing against US when Obama was leading it. I could trust US to not make stupid decisions based on what your leader's ego can handle. And I'm encouraged when seeing those massive protests against Trump. Your country has millions of great people who really care about things and not just their wallets. But at the same time I'm worried about what Trump will do since he's a stupid guy. At least he's not evil and smart like Putin is so maybe that limits the damage but we'll see.

Everyone thinks their truth is absolute, and can't see the truth in what the other is saying...

You are speaking about Donald Trump? The PRESIDENT of the United States? He's a stupid guy?

It is a mistake to make generalized or unsubstianted statements on the measure of an individual's character or aptitude
because it immediately shines a light onto the qualifications of the individual making them.

US has too much influence in the rest of the world.

NO KIDDING? I TOTALLY AGREE! I can tic off a hundred examples of how America's involvement in a foreign nation has had a negative impact. WE KNOW. WE WERE THERE. It gets old hearing ONLY negative remarks about America. America protects the world. AMERICANS are the world's peacekeepers. Do you ever consider how the world would be without American influence? Do you not understand that this is a burden that is felt by every American citizen? It is a burden that is paid for with American tax dollars and American lives.

Your perceptions of our president and our country are distorted and your words give off a third world kind of vibe. Sigh.... This is the 47th time Americans have selected the leader of the worlds most powerful nation. Give Americans the credit that is their due. We got this....

Well. Trump didn't pay tax at all for last ten years or so...
Maybe that's why he couldn't understand what he should do because he never felt any burden since he never paid tax.

By the way talking about calling him stupid, do you know The White house pronounced name of Australian PM wrong many times? Even the white house called him a president of Australia. Seriously? He is PM, not a president. Well. Trump himself doesn't have any respect what so ever to the leader of other countries, you can't expect people from other countries respect him.

EVERYONE in America pays taxes. Personal property. Sales. Income. The list is quite long.

Do you have a link to this incident in which the White House addressed the PM of Australia incorrectly? How does this apply to President Trumps intelligence?

Sorry but the title doesn't give any more intellect than he had before becoming the president.

Going after Obama's birth certificate for many years, claiming that climate change is a hoax made by China, he knows more about ISIS than the generals do, women should be punished for having an abortion, nukes to everyone, constant claims about voter fraud (he seems to have suddenly stopped pursuing that...wonder why), "'I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier'". Did you even watch the debates that Trump participated in? Or can you tell me why you think that Trump is smart? Again I have nothing against americans in general since there are millions of good people there, but your current leader is an idiot.

Trump didn't pay tax, that's well known fact, he called himself smart when Hillary pointed out he didn't pay tax.

You can find the link easily by just googling the white house & Aus PM.

Even when people talk with neighbours it is rude if you pronounce their name wrong, we are here talking about the white house official statement regarding to the head of foreign country. Don't you think they should check what his name is and what he is called and if is a king or a PM or a president?

Only if trump spend more time to do something useful instead of writing Tweet to insult a federal judge.

You sure seem to believe in "American exceptionalism". Sorry to say the vast majority of the world do not always share that view. Actually that is the mindset why a lot of people dislike some americans.

One nation under god, right?

How 'bout them Patriots eh, I leave the game with them trailing 28-3 in the third because it was getting painful (Patriots fan), come back about an hour later and they've only forced OT!! :what:

Got to see their winning TD as well, so basically the greatest sporting comeback probably ever :notworthy

Brady for president?......

It gets old hearing ONLY negative remarks about America. 1. America protects the world. AMERICANS are the world's peacekeepers. Do you ever consider how the world would be without American influence? Do you not understand that this is a burden that is felt by every American citizen? It is a burden that is paid for with American tax dollars and American lives.

1. Are you for real? Peacekeepers surely not, War makers YES

In the lat 50 years America decided to march into several countries without being attacked by them. They just declared war for no real reason.

Without America there wouldn't be a North Korea, no Khmer Rouge and millions of tortured and dead Cambodians, no millions of dead Vietnamese, no Bin Laden, no Taliban, no ISIS, no 10's of millions of displaced people and refugees..... shall i list more? Wherever you decided to march in, you left with the country/region in chaos and secondly never winning any of those wars.

If it were for America there would have been a huge army marching into the Ukraine ending probably in WWIII but the Europeans declined your offer because we like to have peace and solve problems without brute force. Yes, the conflict is still there but contained to a small part and a lot less people are dying because it did not end in a fully fledged war as America wanted it.

What are a few thousand American lives, although each single loss of life is deplorable, compared to the millions who died in those countries because of you deciding to go to war there?

Paid by American tax dollars - surely a part, however, the majority of the overall cost of your campaigns is carried by others.

Without America there wouldn't have been 10's of trillions $ wiped off in people savings in the last 10 years alone.

2. You are maybe on the surface but you are clearly not. E.g. 12% or appr. $ 2Trillion of your countries debt is held by the Chinese, if they decide to cash in all treasury bonds early America would be bankrupt overnight. But they leave you in that position or thinking that you are the most powerful because they are smart and know that they are making even more money with you as it is.

Please enlighten me for what good shall i give credit to the USA?

What is so difficult to the act of fact finding?

1. President Trump DID involve himself in the Birther Movement. His participation is what finally moved President Obama to transparency.
2. The infamous climate tweet referenced his assertion that China's efforts to mitigate climate change were actually intended to cripple the US economy.
President Trump knows China.( Believe me. lol )
3. ISIS-- This is obviously an exaggerated statement on his part. Logic should tell you that this means he has made it his business to inquire. With whom?
There is simply no way to know for sure. Still, it is just an expressive statement. Nothing more.
4. President Trump said " ... women who seek abortions should be subject to some form of punishment if the procedure is banned in the United States." This is conjecture. Period. Abortion is not against the law in the United States. President Trump is not actively seeking to punish women that choose abortion. He did, however, cut federal funding to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is a private non profit organization. Federal funding is not a constituional right. Funding abortions is not where many taxpayers would have their tax dollars allocated.

Should i go on?

"Did I even watch the presidential......blah blah blah."

Are you serious?

THE ENTIRE WORLD WAS WATCHING! PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP COULD LAY DOWN AND DIE TONIGHT & HIS PRESIDENCY WOULD STILL BE A SUCCESS. THERE IS NO WAY TO DENY THAT HE WILL FOREVER BE KNOWN IN HISTORY AS THE MAN THAT SINGLE HANDEDLY JOLTED AN ENTIRE WORLD AWAKE & THAT IS NOT THE WORKINGS OF AN IDIOT.

South Korea would be part of North Korea instead of the industrial, productive country it has become.

Maybe so, but I would bet those countries had asked the USA for help.

We hear that a lot. USA help us! We need........

And the USA always steps in to help. Even to the tune of spending too much money on other countries and not enough on our own.

Projected 2017 foreign assistance is $34 billion....... not chump change.

South-Korea never asked for help, it was Truman's decision to step in to avoid having a communist neighbor on the mainland next to Japan because the Soviets had just successfully tested their first nuclear bomb.

Vietnam never asked for help as the South was a French colony when the initial Vietnam war broke out, the US decided to step in to avoid the country being taken over by the communist North. This was part of the US policy to stop the spread of communism.

Cambodia - never asked for help, yet the US started a huge B-52 blanket bombing over nearly half the country

Afghanistan - nobody asked the US troops to march in the first time they were there in the 80's to aid the Taliban in the fight against the Soviets, only to return in the 20th century to fight exactly those former allies.

All the above was initiated by the US out of fear that communism would spread throughout Asia and Middle East and at the same time to show strength in the cold war against Russia. Nothing else, nobody called for help, nor needed it...in contrary the presence of the US troops made the situation in those countries worse.

Iraq - well, no need to explain that. Marching in on the basis of a big lie that Saddam had arms of mass destruction.

....list not complete.

As for the US spending budget for foreign assistance, you are right: $34 billion or 0.2% of GNI

To put that in perspective of each country's GNI the highest spenders among the DAC countries, which the US is part of, are (2015): Sweden 1.1%, Luxembourg 1.1%, Norway 1%, Denmark 1%, UK 0.7%, Germany 0.45%

Hence, the US contributions are certainly not "chump change" but neither impressive.

Hmmmmm.....American Exceptionalism. Is it wrong that I really like the way that sounds? *grinning and grinning

Nothing wrong being proud of your country. To me, the definition of exceptionalism includes an element of superiority. And the representation of the idea in this way is mostly perceived negatively by the counterparty. At least when it's affixed to a too broad concept (like any given nation). It can be used as a positive definition too.

You say mindset. I said perception. You want to argue semantics? I covered this in the same post you quoted me from.

It's more than just semantics IMO. I say mindset, since the governmental actions and their consequences seem to follow somewhat set patterns of perception of the rest of the world. Perception is not understanding or based on knowledge. It's necessary in gaining knowledge or understanding. Perception is easily influenced by assumptions and may lead to misjudgement of facts. Mindset is something more permanent.

Perceive, understand, act.

Make sense?

I never said it is illegal. He used loophole in tax law not to pay tax.

It is smart, if we are talking about Trump as a businessman, that's not a problem.
But we are talking about Trump as a president here. A president who don't pay tax using loophole in the law, what kind of message it is sending do you think?

One of a job as a president is to encourage people to do their duty not avoiding it using the loophole, but he can't ask people to pay tax when he is the one who doesn't pay any.

What do you think will happen, if people don't pay tax? America first? Trump said? America first can happen when the government has money to do something, when government doesn't have any money how do you think they can do anything to make America first?

Another thing...a person who earn, let's say $50000 a year, who had a really hard life to make an end meet and pay $10000 as a tax so people in USA can have a road to drive around and a police to keep them safe, and Trump has a millions of dollars in his bank account and enjoy all the luxury and don't pay any tax, do you call it right? That's what you want people to have in USA?

Roll call!

I see the Americans in this thread.

I see a member that is most likely Australian.

What about everyone else?

Represent! Tell us where you're from!

Where do you live?

I have truthfully disclosed my location below my "Join date".

I'm with Sovietsky regarding the financial meltdown of 2008. Wall Street fucked the world up. And now Trump wants to roll back financial regulations which were enacted because of that crisis? Don't give bankers more freedom. Please. Pretty please? If anything ever needed regulation, it's the financial sector.

Yes, this is one of my biggest concerns - how could he, knowing very well that deregulation is a recipe for disaster. Of course, this would only play into the hands of the super-wealthy but is detrimental to the people (including the "forgotten" whose interests, as Trump vowed, he would protect)!

So you both think it is pretty cool and smart that the average American needs two jobs to get through the month yet still pays his taxes and a multi-billionaire does not pay a single cent in over a decade? Wow!

Trump said Hilary was a sell out to Wall Street. That she was owned by Wall Street. That she wa gonna bring the country financial disaster cuz Wall Street owns her.

And now trump is gonna get rid of the law that keeps Wall Street in check.

What am I missing?
