If there is anyone that people should not be complaining about , its Ivanka. I agree with slotplayer she is easily the most level headed person in that white house. When asked what she thinks about arming teachers, she said it should be discussed. When a reporter asked whether she, a mother of three children, would consider providing teachers with firearms, she said: "To be honest, I don't know. Obviously, there would have to be an incredibly high standard for who would be able to bear arms in our school."

That is pretty honest right there. 99% of daughters would agree with their father no matter what was suggested. She doesnt do that, she speaks on what she believes only.

At the olympics when NK and SK were announced Pence et al didnt stand or applaud. When it came to Ivanka, she did.

As for NRA supporting Trumps suggestions, its already being reported they wont support a ban that makes it illegal for 18 year olds to buy guns and they wont support banning bump stocks. And some republicans already not supporting a bill making backround checks tougher.

If you read the comments and opinions of americans, there is an overwhelming amount that do not want gun law changes or any bans either.

So instead of trying to blame Trump because people are simply uniformed... Unless the NRA agrees, which looks like they wont, it would take years upon years to fight the NRA and other companies and people who will oppose it. Which would be tens of millions. This is why I believe Trump is suggesting arming volunteer and trained teachers because he knows anything else is near impossible so hes trying to find some sort of solution that will work now.

She's the one who fought to get the child tax credit upped from $1,000 per child to $2,000 per child in the tax bill.
That is going to help lower income single mothers and we know how few there are of those.

Ivanka is the most levelheaded person in the White House.

Wow.

This line alone is quite telling. And from two trump supporters no less.

And sorry. I have no complaints about Ivanka.

I asked has there been anyone without security clearance handling sensitive materials and dossiers like Ivanka and Jared are?

And does anyone know why they’re not cleared?

There was no implication that she shouldn’t be there Cuz that’s an entirely other argument and discussion.

security clearance.

WASHINGTON
When President Donald Trump came into office last year he began granting White House security clearances to top aides using more lenient criteria than those of his predecessors.

He can thank — or blame — Barack Obama for that.

The Trump White House has been accused of being too generous in doling out access to the nation’s secrets. But it was Obama officials who altered the guidelines weeks before they left office in early 2017 to provide additional mitigating factors for employees seeking clearances.

The guidelines now allow staffers with dual passports, tax problems and suspicious lie detector test results to receive clearances.

Chief of Staff John Kelly announced last week that the White House will no longer allow some staffers with interim clearances — including Kushner — to have access to the most sensitive information as of Friday if their FBI background check has been pending since at least June.

I would not want teachers walking around with guns. To me, that goes against 'freedom'. I would be ok with a high trained teacher having access to a gun in safe if there is no other option. But I think there is. If you go to the schools in the bad parts of cities, they have armed guards and metal detectors at the doors. Its not very inviting but it does the job.

As for the reference to the armed guard. He was a police officer who stood outside during the shooting instead of doing his job and he resigned. That whole shooting situation is probably the most outrageous string of events I have ever seen. The kid was reported to police over 30 times and approx 20 visits from officers. The FBI and sheriffs departments had numerous complaints, dozens about threats of a school shooting. There were all these red flags and not a single person did anything about it.

The problem about fighting the NRA, is the constitution. Can you change the constitution? Sure. But its not that easy, you need 2/3rds majority in both the house and senate. There is no where near that kind of support and even if it was passed then it needs to be passed for each state. And Its not just republicans that are against it either, there are alot of democrats against it also.

2nd amendment: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The sooner people realize this is not just a case of Trump saying ok ban guns, next issue. Then people can get to the real issues and start suggesting ways to deter it from happening. The laws will not get changed for a very very long time if ever.

The want Sheriff Isreal to resign but he won't. My guess is he won't get re-elected.

There’s no secret code...you chose a video with a woman in it....that’s all.
She is the go to punching bag and scapegoat....which is getting tiresome...

You have an issue with me posting a video of Clinton to back up what I was posting?
Considering that Hillary was the only option to Trump in the last election and the relevance of her reaction to the brutal murder of another Countries leader while she was so deeply involved in it her gender comes way down the list of my considerations.
Why did you highlight the fact she is a woman as if it was relevant?

Try looking at it another way, the way it was intended. It is a huge compliment to her and not an insult to others.

And you may not have complaints and just asked but my response was to the person you quoted when they called her unqualified.

Sorry but I have to ask you again: Are you that naive or are you deliberately closing ears and eyes?

Can you please show me anything of substance she has ever said in a interview or done since moving into the WH?

- Maybe we can find that in her book where she tried to advise Amercian women how to live their lives but struggled to sell any copies of it.
- Or maybe the mighty Child Tax Credit, that slotplayer mentioned, which was raised to $2000 per family, which does not help children directly, especially low to middle class families where the increase will mean a few extra $ / YEAR if any. Has she done something that would make a real difference like paid maternity leave, direct child support (e.g. Germany is paying all parents EUR250/child in non-taxable cash every month until they finished their education), lowering educations costs or anything similar? BTW, the plan was to raise it to $1600, and she together with Rubio got it up to $2,000. That converts to maybe $1 more / month for every family with kids.
- Or the We-Fi she officially championed so greatly with the World Bank. Have you seen 1$ benefiting a female entrepreneur from an own idea / proposal that Ivanka brought forward? This from a very republican news paper: "The fund has served as an opportunity for the World Bank to build a bridge with an administration that has sometimes expressed skepticism of the bank." The US pledged $50 Million to the fund but at the same time is planning to cut 15% from the overall funding they provide to the World Bank.

I agree though that she is a great speaker, her words always come out rather slow to make them sound like there are well measured and thought, indicating that she knows what she is talking about but are mostly shallow or even empty phrases.

In the same interview she indirectly called all the female accusers of her father liars, stating that as a daughter she "has the right to believe her father." He denied it apparently. That from a man who cheated on all his wives, is married a third time and is known in his circles for his extensive philandering, has his personal lawyer paying $130K (from the lawyer's own money, would you believe it) to shut down one of the women he allegedly had an affair with, etc.

Amazing how many people in the Trumpworld are liars, low-level volunteers, coffee boys, out of their mind but the Trumps are always the best and the greatest.

But yeah, carry on cheerleading! :D

Gotta love Mr. T's quote from the governors meeting in regards to the Parkland, FL shooting:

"I really believe, you don’t know until you’re tested, but I think I’d, I really believe I’d run in even if I didn’t have a weapon.”

So the repeated draft dodger, who had personal bodyguards virtually all his life, suddenly thinks he can become a hero!

Taking a swipe at her about the sales of her books? A daughter sticking up for her father? These are the arguments you are resorting to now? I feel like I just read a hateful liberal twitter rant ;p

Its not amazing how many people are liars or bias. Its actually quite normal to see when it comes to politics so I am not really sure why you acting like this is something new. Especially given the bitterness of the left ever since they lost. The media were crying their eyes out and Hillary supporters losing their minds. Lawyers offering females half a million dollars to publicly say Trump sexually harassed them.

As for what has Ivanka done in the white house, how would I know all she does, I dont work there. But some things that she has brought together is the council for the advancement of female entrepreneurs between Canada and the USA, she attended the w20 summit, family leave proposal, she took part in the whitehouse workforce development, she was responsible for the apprenticeship and job programming programs her father introduced, she was behind having tech leaders give 300 million in funding for the education program to advance computer science, double the child tax credit. And yes your claims about this is completely false and made up.

And by the way, being informed doesnt make me a cheerleader. It makes me responsible. Try it sometime.

Oh and by the way the swipe you made about her book, did you know she donated the proceeds to fund woman initiatives and development in science and technology, math and engineering for girls? No you didnt because if you did you wouldnt have made that comment.

And you call me naive and blind.

- A daughter sticking up for a father - for Roy Moore and other people, who face similar accusations, she has a "special place in hell", yet her Daddy just has to say "I didn't do it" and then all is good.
- donating her book proceeds - no other choice because the government ethics rules dictate that. And you think she does it out of kindness, showing that your are indeed naive.
- family leave proposal - that's what it is, a proposal, nothing more and won't even be put on the list to be debated.
- she attended the W10 summit - show face, that's it. Did you hear anything since that she's done something specific by her own initiative? I give you the answer - no.
- daddy introduced "apprenticeship and job programming programs" - typical pet projects that rich fathers start for their kids to give them something to "shine". Anything happened since? Any real initiatives that she proposed and introduced?
- etc etc.

And yes, I did know that she donated her book proceeds, but contrary to you I knew as well the reason why she did it! However, I am happy for the charities who get some of the money.

I can't care less what he drinks or watches but in that passage he was criticizing the deputy who did not go inside when the shooting happened. He, of course, the grand-stander he is, stated that he would go in unarmed.... NOT.

Who knows what happened to the deputy? He froze maybe on the shooting noise or purely just got scared. Have you ever heard a "machine gun-style" noise close by? I can tell you from my own experience, it is pretty terrifying.

According to what I read it converts to $75 more per year for a single mother on minimum wage. That barely pays some stationery for the school year. But at the end of the day, any $ is a $.

And you surely know, that the increased tax credit passed only because they also increased the max. amount a family can earn, to be still benefiting from it, from $75K/$100K (can remember which one it was) to $500K. Meaning the well earning parents will be able to claim the full credit of $4,000 / year yet the single mother has to make do with $75.

Great achievement for Ivanka.

Jesus...
( I accidently posted the Quote and I'm on my way out the door to get smokes from the Reservation for my mom and Dad, but I will address this when I get back.)

You didn't reply... gutted :(

So whats your problem, she didnt call out her father on accusations that some feminist lawyer offered hundreds of thousands of dollars to try and speak out. One outright refusing and the lawyer kept offering more money. Yeah ok.

Wait a second, so which is it here about the book. She knew before hand that proceeds would go to charities or she wouldnt have known? Bingo!! Shows to me you have a hard time looking at things properly because your glasses are covered in incredible hate.

Who cares what he suggested. its pathetic to pick at little things like this. Wahhhh Trump said something I dont like I must run all over and post my hatred!!!

And anyone who doesnt criticize the police officer for standing around while dozens of innocent children are being shot, may want to check themselves.

Where are you getting your information from? Try doing your research from a less bias news source jesus. Find one thats neutral atleast cause this post is completely wrong.

If you want to argue about this stuff at least know the system.

I will even provide you with a site that is mostly anti trump just so im doing the opposite of cherry picking.

Read this as its fairly accurate. Its quite complex instead of your oh poor single mom will only get $75 comments.

Been doing my own taxes almost every year since I started working.

$11 an hour is the minimum wage in my state which is higher than federal rate of $7.25. That would be $22,800 year @ a 40 hr. work week.

2017 taxes, let's see it. You can see the details on the right. This person will get a check in the mail from uncle sam for $3145.00

You should go to the site and click on the scenarios.

So you can see that when they say someone making $11 an hour does not pay any federal income tax, its true, they get all federal tax taken out of their paychecks back and plus the refundable credits and then will get another $895 on top it when they file 2018 taxes.

I left it out on purpose as I don't think a repeated draft dodger can put himself in position to shine as a potential hero in such a situation. He has (just as me) no clue how he would react when bullets are flying around.

$895 / 12 = appr. $75.

Have to apologize, but in all the published pieces they would write the full year income and then $75, hence I assumed it was per year. My bad, sorry.

$75 for a small income family makes indeed a difference but I suppose not all of it can be attributed to the increased CTC but is the overall result including all new regulations under the TCJA.

- CEO's - I said that their statements are standard marketing 101 and one should read between the lines
- President of SK - I said he had no choice but to make the statement as it was

Quote:
"300 million dollars donated to the education program, Nope means nothing cause Harry says so!"
- $300 million certainly sounds a lot but vanes quickly when you counter that with the cuts to the education department. Did Ivanka try to convince her father to avoid cuts or at least reduce them? To me that reads like: she's got $300 Million for her pet project to "shine" but doesn't give a damn' about the billions that are cut from the education budget.

Quote:
"Contrary to me? What does that mean, you never mentioned it until i did and then when caught once again being clueless you now try to flip it."
- you never mentioned the reason why she is donating the proceeds, hence posting a misleading statement that puts Ivanka in a positive light where in fact she does it because of the ethics rules. She would not have donated a single penny without the rules. Reason - she pocketed the first part of her advance (which was before she officially entered the WH) without any plans to donate the following proceeds.

Ivanka is never going to get recognition for her own work- that comes with the territory I'm afraid. She may well do good deeds and carry herself well (I think she's done ok) but ultimately she's just doing what she does thanks to Papa. Whilst we're at it we should not forget the contributions of some other notable path beaters, like Mrs Bill Clinton or Mrs Barack Obama :D

Just because an accuser was offered money....doesn’t mean it’s not true. And half a million dollars? I don’t think so.
It’s not like Lisa bloom went out there and chose a woman and said hey I’ll give you money for you to accuse trump of trying to rape you. And yes it undercuts their story....but does it make it less real or true? The woman, yes only one woman not many woman as you say....never really got anything except she lost her job, her friends and basically was punished when the story broke. I think she got 2k from a go fund me campaign.

The story broke before any of this happened with Lisa bloom....and why shouldn’t she get paid to tell her story? trump’s lawyer paid stormy not to tell her story.
(And yes the mr trump’s lawyer tweets for him and pays his hush money from his pocket too. Like does anyone even believe this? )

As for Ivanka ....how is she qualified again? I’m asking a legitimate question. Let’s set aside the fact that this is the daughter of the president. And apparently all rules about this have been thrown out but lets set aside that issue.

But she nor her husband have security clearance. he’s negotiating Middle East peace treaties and she’s meeting South Korea to avoid a nuclear war with North Korea....

I can’t imagine in any other presidency that this would be acceptable or even legal.

And again I ask the question why don’t they have security clearance?
Slotplayer says it’s because obama made it easier cuz of lenient criteria ...and I’m thinking ok....even with more lenient criteria they don’t have clearance. Why?

Hardly the same ....two lawyers....one of them a senator /Secretary of State

All of the of the media has been criticizing him and the Sheriff.

The sheriff shouldn’t resign.......what was he supposed to do...go get the kid and bring him where exactly?and do what with him? Take him to the hospital, detain him on what grounds? There is no real game plan for this type of thing. Mental illness is not really a top priority.

Sheriff couldn’t take away his weapons, I don’t think, as it is illegal to do so. So no he shouldn’t resign and he shouldn’t be criticized.

I left it out on purpose as I don't think a repeated draft dodger can put himself in position to shine as a potential hero in such a situation. He has (just as me) no clue how he would react when bullets are flying around.

Hard to say either way. Why not quote it fully and accurately and let us make up our own minds?

There is something called the Baker act in Florida but I haven't looked in to it yet.

I did see the math coming out to about $75/month when I saw the $895 but was not sure if you meant a month or a year.

The people who will get hosed are the ones that deduct salt (state and local taxes). Corporate taxes was one thing but does not bother me as there is a potential upside, not eliminating the "carried interest", that was the gift.

And what states will suffer most with the new SALT limitations --> mostly blue states. That was a sting to their hearts and that on purpose. Politically, a great coup.

To eliminate the "carried interest" thing was one promise Mr. T made with big "broohaha" on his campaign. What surprise that it hasn't been eliminated. Just another one added to the long list of broken promises.

Blue states like to tax. My blue state just started a 1099K @ $600 in 2017, just like the state lottery which starts taxing wins at $600. So if you sell something on eBay and make $600, you need to pay the state as PayPal and others like coinbase now send them a 1099K.

The baker act....72 hours is the max he could have been detained for....in an institution....then what....just like everyone says...he would have found a way....

“Foreign officials have discussed manipulating White House adviser Jared Kushner via his business arrangements, U.S. officials say”

And this might be the reason he doesn’t have high level clearance at all after today....

If this has any truth to it....he shouldn’t even be an advisor anymore....

Like I said, I haven't looked in to it but I would imagine they'd determine if he was a threat to himself or others and then in theory fail the background checks.

You could have answered my questions and shown me your proof of your assertions and that I am wrong in what I am saying, just like normal people do when they debate but instead you resorted again to personal attacks. SAD!

Quote:
"Wait a second, so which is it here about the book. She knew before hand that proceeds would go to charities or she wouldnt have known? Bingo!! Shows to me you have a hard time looking at things properly because your glasses are covered in incredible hate."
- You lost me there. What exactly are you asking or insinuating?
- My glasses are surely not filled with incredible hate, you don't know me

Quote:
"Oh the CEO's are liars they didnt really mean that!! The president of South Korea is a liar, he didnt mean what he says!!"
- please show me where I said they are liars. You can't because I never called them liars.

Really rich. Calls me naive, blind and a cheerleader and gets upset when I return the favor.

I could have answered your questions but I have a day job instead of correcting you all day long. And I didnt need to write a novel, the article would do a better job than I would.

If you are going to be so passionate and aggressive about a topic, at least know it. I think thats a fair request.

In the USA they can be charged with disturbing schools and the education program can take measure also. They can also be charged with terrorism and many students have been charged with this for uttering or posting the exact same thing this kid did. Whats most concerning is other kids who were arrested and charged were much less known and much less of a threat. He had over 30 police complaints and well over a dozen visits by police. Not only that but this was also brought to the FBI many times prior about him.

I think the sheriff and the deputy should both resign and the entire department thoroughly looked at for not doing their jobs and protecting the kids given the history of this maniac and all the threats beforehand. Especially since they had the legal right to take custody of him

The show is getting better and funnier by the day! :D

'Officials in the White House were concerned that Kushner was "naive and being tricked" in conversations with foreign officials, some of whom said they wanted to deal only with Kushner directly and not more experienced personnel, said one former White House official.'

I had the courtesy to ask you if you are naive or deliberately closing ears and eyes. You could have, as any other normal debate partner, answered in the negative to both and explained why you stand by your opinion. So no, i did not call you naive, nor blind. Maybe you do not understand my English writing.

I did though say that you seem to be the head cheerleader of the day care center since you are cheerleading for anything Mr. T does, meaning you only see positives from his policies. In the English language that is called: cheerleading :cheerleader:

But yes, avoid answering questions.

Oh ya ok lol. That was a serious question that you wanted a serious answer to? Hey, are you naive and blind? Its called patronizing, so stop jabbing and then playing innocent.

Yep, thats me avoiding answering questions because Ive had a habit of doing that through the entire thread...I think im beginning to realize its a lost cause since half the stuff you post is completely made up and inaccurate and when shown the proof, you move onto the next thing and start all over and its just a vicious circle. I mean, you had your mind made up about the tax thing and went on and on about it but in the end you had no idea of the system at all or the actual benefits. Why argue with someone like that? Its a waste of time. Especially now that every little thing you read you come in here and post it and laugh like its hilarious or something. So yeah I probably will avoid your comments in here from now on. You can carry on with your hate train and be content with that.

I didnt know it was my job to criticize him? I mostly respond to made up or false accusations or give a different viewpoint. So do I start calling you a hater since you never come in here and say anything positive about him? Works both ways then
