And lets talk about a policy that Trump is trying to implement that is quite positive and will be effective. Raising the legal age to buy a gun from 18 to 21 which would deter disgruntled students from being able to purchase a gun at all.. I read an article today where he feels the NRA wouldnt fight them on it which would be a huge bonus in passing it.

Also, Trump spoke to numerous senators who were against implementing stronger backround checks a couple years ago..they are now in support of it.

But I guess we cant discuss anything positive, I forgot.

I think even if Trump somehow got guns banned, people would be furious with him because he didnt get sticks and stones banned too.

I just read that there was actually an on duty police officer at that school during the shooting but he wouldnt go inside and stood outside for 4 minutes during the 6 minute shooting. That officer resigned today.

I’m done responding to this question of guns. It is too personal an issue for me. I was shot at as a teenager and held at gunpoint. I never want to live through that again. And I live it every time something like this happens. So I’m gonna bow out of the gun debate.

And NO I don’t want you to get rid of all guns...this is what the nra want you to believe that anyone who makes the smallest demand of having some regulation wants. I was taught how to use a rifle growing up...to go hunting. I grew up in the USA. My family has hunting rifles.

As for how hard and how costly it would be to get rid of all guns lockinlove....as hard as getting rid of illegal immigrants and anyone else the USA has banned.

Trump inherited this problem but he is going to make it worse.

They put metal detectors in the schools in the hood. Let’s start with those.

From the comments here, it seems as though not many people know the political system in the USA. All of you guys saying just bans guns, do you realize how long that would take to try and get passed and the court cases and uproar etc? There would be 500 more school shootings before it even happened and a different president or maybe 2 more presidents after all is said and done.

Also, there seems to be this notion that teachers are weak little cowards who dont know how to use a gun or want to know how. Some teachers have come forward volunteering to do it.

Putting a few guns in a school in a safe or having a police office or undercover in the school would be a lot better than absolutely nothing. And believe it or not if these shooters knew there were armed people in the school it would probably deter them more so than not.

Im all for it if its a quick fix for now until they figure out their broken system.

And if Canada can have small police offices in their schools, I am sure USA can make this a nationwide policy.

If you want that to be taken as proof for anything, then you need to explain what it is about - where did it come from, who wrote it...
We need information, not just random pictures that anyone could have knocked together. I could put together a leaflet like that and say it was proof of anything... there are so many spelling and grammar mistakes in it...

The date on the copy of the "document" you posted is 16th April 2015 - six months before the phone was even released by LG.

Also, why are there at-least 7 levels of confidential? Why letters after the level? "Level 7 AB-G", "Level 6 HR-J" indicates an extreme level of granularity, more than the US government uses.

The language used sounds very odd - which certainly makes me suspicious, but even so - that in itself is not proof it's fake.

However, what also points to it being fake is just from what it is and how it's presented.

• Page is lightly crumpled and warped to try to look used
• Font size is HUGE
• An extremely inflammatory "confidential" document is given to some guy with names and signatures on every page?
• Conspiracy is clearly spelled out on every page - Zero steps have been taken to be discreet. Example: "Point of contact: D.A. Donnelly - DO NOT name this individual in any comms or in-person". If this were real, this would be far more discreet, and very unlikely printed off as a booklet.
• Every page has threats and warnings about confidentiality - something which would likely never happen in a document like this IF it existed

If there is anyone that people should not be complaining about , its Ivanka. I agree with slotplayer she is easily the most level headed person in that white house. When asked what she thinks about arming teachers, she said it should be discussed. When a reporter asked whether she, a mother of three children, would consider providing teachers with firearms, she said: "To be honest, I don't know. Obviously, there would have to be an incredibly high standard for who would be able to bear arms in our school."

That is pretty honest right there. 99% of daughters would agree with their father no matter what was suggested. She doesnt do that, she speaks on what she believes only.

At the olympics when NK and SK were announced Pence et al didnt stand or applaud. When it came to Ivanka, she did.

As for NRA supporting Trumps suggestions, its already being reported they wont support a ban that makes it illegal for 18 year olds to buy guns and they wont support banning bump stocks. And some republicans already not supporting a bill making backround checks tougher.

If you read the comments and opinions of americans, there is an overwhelming amount that do not want gun law changes or any bans either.

So instead of trying to blame Trump because people are simply uniformed... Unless the NRA agrees, which looks like they wont, it would take years upon years to fight the NRA and other companies and people who will oppose it. Which would be tens of millions. This is why I believe Trump is suggesting arming volunteer and trained teachers because he knows anything else is near impossible so hes trying to find some sort of solution that will work now.

If there is anyone that people should not be complaining about , its Ivanka. I agree with slotplayer she is easily the most level headed person in that white house. When asked what she thinks about arming teachers, she said it should be discussed. When a reporter asked whether she, a mother of three children, would consider providing teachers with firearms, she said: "To be honest, I don't know. Obviously, there would have to be an incredibly high standard for who would be able to bear arms in our school."

That is pretty honest right there. 99% of daughters would agree with their father no matter what was suggested. She doesnt do that, she speaks on what she believes only.

At the olympics when NK and SK were announced Pence et al didnt stand or applaud. When it came to Ivanka, she did.

As for NRA supporting Trumps suggestions, its already being reported they wont support a ban that makes it illegal for 18 year olds to buy guns and they wont support banning bump stocks. And some republicans already not supporting a bill making backround checks tougher.

If you read the comments and opinions of americans, there is an overwhelming amount that do not want gun law changes or any bans either.

So instead of trying blame Trump because people are simply uniformed... Unless the NRA agrees, which looks like they wont, it would take years upon years to fight the NRA and other companies and people who will oppose it. Which would be tens of millions. This is why I believe Trump is suggesting arming volunteer and trained teachers because he knows anything else is near impossible so hes trying find some sort of solution that will work now.

I think the young generation - those directly affected by the shootings will change America as they grow up... it might be a generation before it changes, but with companies leaving the NRA in droves, and the youth fighting the NRA, it might mean that something good comes of this. Let's see... But arming teachers is most certainly not the answer - all teacher unions oppose it... There was an armed security guard at the school - look how much good he did!

I would not want teachers walking around with guns. To me, that goes against 'freedom'. I would be ok with a high trained teacher having access to a gun in safe if there is no other option. But I think there is. If you go to the schools in the bad parts of cities, they have armed guards and metal detectors at the doors. Its not very inviting but it does the job.

As for the reference to the armed guard. He was a police officer who stood outside during the shooting instead of doing his job and he resigned. That whole shooting situation is probably the most outrageous string of events I have ever seen. The kid was reported to police over 30 times and approx 20 visits from officers. The FBI and sheriffs departments had numerous complaints, dozens about threats of a school shooting. There were all these red flags and not a single person did anything about it.

The problem about fighting the NRA, is the constitution. Can you change the constitution? Sure. But its not that easy, you need 2/3rds majority in both the house and senate. There is no where near that kind of support and even if it was passed then it needs to be passed for each state. And Its not just republicans that are against it either, there are alot of democrats against it also.

2nd amendment: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The sooner people realize this is not just a case of Trump saying ok ban guns, next issue. Then people can get to the real issues and start suggesting ways to deter it from happening. The laws will not get changed for a very very long time if ever.
