ISLE OF MAN – Microgaming announces another epic win on its progressive jackpot network, which is the largest in the industry having paid out over €574 million to date.

On Friday 8th April 2016, a Spin Palace player hit the Mega Moolah jackpot, taking home an astonishing €6,905,670.81. As with all Microgaming's progressive wins, the windfall will be paid out to the player in a lump sum.

From my own perspective (other than beginners luck with two quick £100 jackpot wins), I find it very difficult to trigger the bonus wheel with £0.50 spins

I play these MGS JP slots from time to time but not loads as a big chunck of the RTP goes to the JP funds.
Mostly 0.75 cent bets and I only triggered that wheel once and it gave me the lowest JP value,something like 11.00.

The best party to ensure that the jackpot is paid out in full and at once is surely the software provider running the progressive system at the casino where the player hit the jackpot...unfortunately that does not appear to be an imperative with Playtech and others that allow this disgraceful player-unfriendly practice to carry on.

Once it is there, then it's the casino's responsibility to pay the player how they see fit - the old mantra "we're just the software provider" is in effect here.

Microgaming's sense of responsibility is a bit higher than that - they will ensure that the full amount is promptly paid to the player. No bullshit there.

That sort of response from Playtech is in my view irresponsible...especially since they have been informed that some of their operators are player-abusing their progressive system by only paying jackpots in small increments or - in at least one well publicised case - slow-paying a player into negotiating away half the winnings..

It's a cop-out on Playtech's part imo, and it harms their reputation.

Perhaps the regulators in the more responsible jurisdictions where Playtech operators are active should be looking at this progressive winnings payment issue in order to introduce basic rules that better protect the player.
