I can't pm anyone until I figure out how to delete messages. It's kinda complicated, more so than I thought.

Just wanted to post this as I did not want to offend anyone by not being able to pm back.

Getting older by the second...and I'm the 'plain dumb' one.

Its actually simple once you see what you have to do. Go select the messages u want to delete by checking the box on the right hand side. then go to the bottom of the page and look right above the page #'s that show how many pages there are there is a box. You click on the box and then there is about 7 options on what you can do with the selected items, delete is one of those options.

Also check your 'sent messages' directory - any messages stored in there count toward your quota too.

If you don't want to lose anything, if you scroll right down to the bottom there's an option to "Download all private messages" and that will grab everything that's in your inbox, you can save it as text or whatever format will work for you.

Imagine if this pm function didn't exist

That would be horrible. I've probably sent between 10-15 000 pm's.
I just wish it would be possible to save more than 750 as I can now, but on the other hand, why live in the past?

Given the potential abuse that could be caused by a member to another member through the private messaging system I would suspect that a logging system would be in place in case of any recourse?

As a rule it would all be private of course unless there were complaints I guess?

It happens that some pm's are not so nice. I have been called a lot of not so nice things, and we have the spammers.
You have the possibility to forward the message to a moderator, and that's the only time they can read your pm.

Thank you for that information, having been involved in real time chats on sites that had PM's enabled I have experienced some alarming comments but my skin grew thicker as I knew they were keyboard warriors.

It is reassuring to know that there is a system in place here to report and resolve possible issues from people that are either brain dead or automated bots.

Just remember that even though they are private, the people you are talking to is normal people.
Most can probably be trusted. Still I have heard and experienced myself things that have been revieled to others that shouldn't have been.

To be careful is always the best, just like in normal life. I do have friends here I trust totally. Don't know what I would do without them to be honest

I think I have put various peeps into files...yay, files? never knew!
