Play OJO odd restrictions

I’m wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar

Now I work nights so when I do have days off my body clock is very much on the same schedule. I was playing around 1am Thursday evening when their responsible gambling team made me contact them. They were asking loads of questions which I get they have to keep doing now in the UK and I explained why I was playing later (early morning)

The chat ended with them saying they were putting a 24 cool off on my account. No problem I thought. The one thing that happened was that my free spins in my rewards expired in this time.

I contacted chat which is a nightmare (I think most people can agree). I asked if I could have my free spins credited back as it wasn’t my fault they restricted my account which made them expire. They told me that I had a promotional restriction on my account.

I wasn’t told about this and have no idea why I can deposit yet I have a promotional restriction on my account which I didn’t even know about. So so odd. I asked when this restriction would end as it’s not like I’m trying to deposit more money (even though I could if I wanted!) I just wanted the free spins I had earned.

They told me to ‘come back at a later date to ask for them’ chat didn’t give me any timeframe, they were not transparent it was all very flakey and didn’t make any sense.

I find I get nowhere with their chat. Once you navigate your way past the bot and actually speak to a human it takes hours for a reply, and they close each chat off so you can’t respond. You have to go through the whole ordeal again. Losing a bit of faith with this site

@EGO are you able to help please?

@AllBritish will let you play any time, if playojo don't let you play 1am they should close the casino at 1am open at 6am, casinos thinks everything is close after midnight even in London, they don't think London is open 24/7
you can order takeout at 3am in London

One of the metrics used to identify at-risk players is when you play (particularly overnight). They consider a number of factors before working out which level to rate you at - if you go in one of the highest levels then you get promotional banned for "responsible gambling" reasons (as per the UKGC).

I don't believe they're allowed to tell you - it'll get reviewed periodically.

Given a removal of promotions is essentially an RTP nerf, as with any other RTP nerf it's best to vote with your wallet and play elsewhere. Just be aware this isn't specific to one operator, all UKGC-licensed operators have to do the same and it's possible you'll trigger similar flags at other sites.

I agree. I live in London and I’m shocked that my account got restricted. I only play a couple of times a month with my pocket money I don’t understand it

I play similar patterns at 3 casinos and I’ve never been restricted elsewhere. I don’t believe my behaviour is that of someone with a problem as I don’t have a problem with my gambling. I know the UKGC are strict with casinos these days and they measure play, but I’ve never had a restriction like this before elsewhere

thats why playing UKGC casinos is not fun anymore, they have taken it all away,is it any wonder people play offshore
Yep! I would much rather play offshore somewhere reputable than UK now after this. I know there is always some risk but one offshore I’ve played at previously was good in terms of withdrawal and customer service

A lot of it comes down to their overall assessments, the

, where around 8% of gamblers are considered at risk (I expect that number has gone up since) - so if you exhibit those signs (large deposits, playing at night, extended sessions etc) then you are more likely to be categorised in that bracket and the restrictions will apply.

Additionally, I believe operators are required to conform to such curves - even if their customer base doesn't align with it (which means higher-risk customers may be missed, or lower-risk customers may be targeted).

They tried to get ahead of this with the (rejected) Single Customer View - so people who were doing the same thing but split across multiple sites would also get flagged up... but that's a privacy nightmare of epic proportions.

Which means there's little reason to play at a single site anymore - playing at multiple sites means you get multiple sets of promotions and rewards (what little is left, anyway) and lower volumes means less likely to be in that key 8% demographic. It's dumb, but the UKGC right now seems to be play stupid games, win stupid prizes....

they are lot of Casinos they don't care what time you play as longest you don't go mad making £1000`s of deposits, AllBritish Pokerstars VideoSlots SkyVegas etc they don't care if you play 2am or 2pm
