I was just wondering, can you gauge how well a slot might pay based on the free game (play for fun), for example, if I was getting a lot of bounes, would that mean that it a good time to play that game to real?

The simple answer is “No” the slots are random and will pay random but keeping to the pay-out rate they are set to.

You may find with a play through of a set of spins let’s say a thousand you win 1.5 times the money you put in but the next time you win 0.3 times the money you put in, it’s random and different slots do different maths models to achieve their pay-out rate.

They are fair but not when you hit them at the wrong time, more senior members may explain it better than me.

Probably the best advice members would give is to stick within a budget that you are happy with, see it as a game where if you win it's a bonus but if not it was just some fun that you can afford.

play for real when you feel yourself prepared for that.

don´t belive in the "slots are paying well so i will change to real money" because they can turn cold in just a few spins.
you can be with a payout ratio of 110% now and with 40% next few spins (in both fun and real modes)

The simple answer is no and why that is, is because most of the casino software providers host real and fun play mode on different servers.

Servers just deliver the same content but as said from different locations in some very rare cases. The content just differs slightly from software adjustments needed to communicate free play and real play. There would be an obvious bias to give servers on real play the most attention but these days with much more advanced load balancing and scaling the casino site would in most cases be happy to deal from a single set of central servers from the same place.

Larger sites may have redundancy built in to switch to other servers they don’t normally use but this would add cost.

Once a game is loaded the up / down data stream is tiny, very little bandwidth.

Perhaps a shorter answer is the software employed to run the games is the same on free play and real play and uses a random number generator that doesn’t know whether it’s on server A in the USA or server B in Australia or server C on my virtual private network. :lolsign:

In my paranoish opinion when it comes to Netent slots, some of them are much looser in fun mode than real. Easier to hit features, and you win more on them.. So i wouldn't deposit thinking i was gonna win for real just cause the fun mode pays out.

Theres a certain logic to all of the 'no' responses given so far, but in a way I can't help but feel the answer can also be 'yes' (in the glass half-full/half-empty sort of way...) because for sure, there is zero guarantee that if a game is paying out well in fun mode it will continue to pay out well if you switch to real mode BUT, it is also true to say that normally there should be zero difference between the results you see in fun mode vs the results you see in real mode, therefore, if you are playing a game in fun mode and it seems to be paying out well for you, that would be enough to encourage me to go and try it in real mode - because should that current trend continue, you will do well!

I know that everybody is super keen to stress that because the slots are random, the results of the past few spins can never influence the results of the next 10 spins, but it sounds to me like your question really is whether the results you see in fun mode can be fairly assumed to be an accurate representation of what you would see if you switch to real mode, and the answer to that question is YES they are - just remember, if it all goes downhill after you make the switch, it would have gone downhill just the same if you were still playing in fun mode too, even if it seems far too much of a co-incidence!

I believe that part of the requirements imposed on legal casinos seeking license in New Jersey is a stipulation that free play (such as that provided by almost every online casino) can NOT be more loose than real play. In other words, free play mode has to play the same or worse than real play.

Obviously, what casino is going to make free play worse than real play? So effectively, the regulations will make it so that the free play mode will give you a rough idea as to how it plays in real mode.

Probably a factor in free play mode is you lose track of what you could have virtually lost or won but in real play you are more aware of the credit balance.

There really is no need to weight the free play mode to win more than the real plays as in gambling the near wins or loose are just as important as the wins they add perceived excitement.

We have had a couple of cases where the play pay was proven by players to be different (and paying out more) than the real money version. This was admitted in both the Finsoft/Spielo GTECH G2 scandal on a hi lo game and Playtech with a more sophisticated slot.

Having said that it is pretty much impossible for an individual player to assess such a thing by their impression. You would need a big sample of both real and play money and to analyse it in depth. Player impressions often do not match what has really happened and impressions are always gained over quite short often seemingly unusual results (high win/high loss streaks).

Streaks are entirely normal, that is what random delivers and from the sound of it you like games with lots of features which tend to be higher variance so you will get what they are designed to deliver - winning and losing streaks.
