Guys,

I sent a message to CM, hopefully he'll see if it he isn't flooded with PMs where we get a new forum section that discusses only CM V2 Bugs / Suggestions where each person that has a bug opens a new forum post with all the details, and anyone that has the same issue adds to it.
So for example, black bar issue occurs - Victim opens post related to only that, other victims post to that. Victims of Log In bug open another post and handle only that problem. So on and so forth.

Might make things easier for their tech team to work

It doesn't move properly and prevents you from clicking a thread, have to piss about moving the mouse all over to get into something that should take a second.

Agree with having a forum with dedicated threads for each bug/problem/suggestion too, would make it much easier for you to keep track, maybe have a icon for solved/fixed each time something is done too.

Not a lover of the changes but at my age, we rarely like change ....Wish I could remember how to change the set up (as it's defaulted back to what it was 10 years ago) so I can see more posts per page rather than the 10 I'm seeing at the moment....ideas?

I always had the old forum on 30 - can't stand only 10 at a time!

I'm pretty sure it was set at 20 (which I have changed it to now), you may have had it set to 30 via your personal profile settings - which this forum does not have. Can you comprimise with 20?

There seemed to be a lot more private information on view than I would ever dream of disclosing to other peoples eyes such as account details. But why listen to me?

And is it a forum members fault if they have not read once never mind "time and time again" that there where questions asked about profile/private messages?
I have never read such information on any reps profile page.

I will look into this some more. I don't want to read that stuff either.

After careful consideration I will say that the site is a lot better than the old one. Everything feels intuitive and where it should be..... and barring a few technical teething hiccups it's a far more streamlined forum.

One great improvement for me is how it (generally) takes you to the most recent posts, unlike before. Over the years we'd always have to click on 'last' page when loading up a topic. I must have wasted minutes doing that.

I did fear change at first, now I think it to have been much-needed and a masterstroke. Thanks to Bryan & co for all the hard graft put in to make it happen

By the way, there's still some smileys missing.

That is a good idea. I'd like to see it that way on all posts so I don't have to hunt for the time stamp and then squint to see it.

Bryan, I was trying to post some screenies just now. I just did the exact same thing as I did yesterday, but they wouldn't upload.
Checked the filename, the size etc etc and I don't see anything amiss. And I was only putting 2 screenies in the post, so it's nothing to do with exceeding the limit of 5 per post.

The only potential issues I can see are...

1. when I select the file to upload it says "custom files" as the file type instead of jpeg. The thing is, I saved the files as JPEGs, so I don't understand why it is attempting to upload it as a "Custom File". Also, the drop down menu on the file type field gives me the choice of "Custom File" or "All Files". Regardless of which one I choose, the upload remains unsuccessful.

2. The size of the files (even after re-sizing to within the 800 x 560 range) are over 100 KB (126KB and 128KB). The screenies I successfully posted yesterday were between 78 and 90 KB. Is there a 100KB limit on the file size?

One other thing I would like to ask... Are there any kind of permissions/limits currently imposed on the total number of many screenies a user can post? It just seemed a bit odd that it worked perfectly yesterday and it's not working today.

Not sure you thought it through when displaying the profile pic of each thread starter, when clicking new posts. Due to the activity in the FS thread this will mean having to wake up to colins face everyday for the rest of your life.

This issue went away once I deleted the old bookmark and replaced it with a new one. Just as Bryan had suggested.

It was a little clickable piece of text where you now see 'Post Reply, Upload a File, Upload via URL, Your Attachments, More options' and all it did was put you back at the top of the thread page

its been said why this not that drastic but arguably worse than the previous design occurred? i stopped vising lcb the day they changed to that impractical and lagging design, took me a while to swallow the new youtube like the previous versions(remember how swiftly the 2007 version was before being bought by google? really all-in-one with awesome customizable profiles, now i press on tabs and scroll a lot for no reason), the downfall of myspace was not only the switch to wanna-be social network and deletion of blogs but the design and functionality after the great ~2007 v2 version. here on CM i really cant see any major improvement, more functionality yes but with the cost of cutting the design making it sterile, look how empty the pages look and profiles on the left... so maybe i missed, reading the couple of pages here, so why this design occured? security related? i use this forum almost every day nwnprod.com/forum for my biggest hobby that is music, vbulettin 2005 and is all is needed for years, all the functionality is there, why all design upgrades tend to turn to minimalist looking empty by hiding what can be hidden?

Bryan said at the time that the main reason was was because vBulettin wasn't good enough for mobile users.

I agree with you - the old forum was MUCH better visually and had much more useful info on view.
But that's probably cos I'm "old" and still ONLY do everything online on my laptop, and never on my smart-phone.

Security is one aspect of change I would imagine. Mobile use another.
Also, the forum you mention isn't running vbulletin

I gotta say, and I never thought I would, but the new forum is much better overall I feel, and much more intuitive. It all looks neater/ better too I think, and uploading and the like is much more fluid.

Though for months now since the change, i drive myself insane when browsing with my tablet. Everytime loading a thread - after 2 seconds the page adds a little "follow casinomeister at twitter fb youtube etc" message.

Subconsciously i know its gonna happen, yet i still often attempt to click on something like 'go to first unread post' but then the page makes room for the message and moves everything down a bit in order to fit the extra information just as i do so.
Still to this day, everyday, i end up at some point clicking something entirely different to what my finger was hovering over..and then i go somewhere else entirely and sometimes follow that with clicking something else again that i dont want to click lol. Often its the thread starters name i accidently click, which probably would make me look like some sort of stalker if people kept an eye on my activity page

Stalkers are the worst. I mean who cares that you were logged in for 26 minutes 47 seconds on CM today Adam, or that you wear blue Snoopy boxers?

I will try to revisit this thread next week. Yeah - it's always tough to change. But you have to roll with the punches. Our traffic is now more mobile than not, and this new software is amazing in its mobile version. Whereas vB is not - which is a bummer for the oldtimers.

You may have also noticed a decrease in spam this past week.

I agree - you can do other things simultaneously on a decent laptop, nice big screen instead of piss-piddling about with tiny fussy interfaces where you need fingers the size of friggin' needles to avoid making a mistake plus the unreliable 4G connectivity and stupid watered-down html5 graphics to boot. I have NEVER played slots on a sodding phone and never will. That's why I have a touch screen SSD-powered laptop.

Shame! I am missing reporting spammers and ridiculing their BS posts when I quote them and redirecting them to shitholecasinos.com !

I have to say though, that now this new format is up and running I find it far better than before, functional than before and smoother. I was a bit nervy originally but now love it...

Actually, I normally let the casino spammers get through so they can have a dose of an an angry mob. I guess the word got out lol.

The spam I'm talking about is the cell phone, Chinese, selling passports spam. You won't see much of that anymore.
