Hello!

Another newbie thread, and a sequel to 'The Blackjack Edge' down there :D

Me and a couple of mates are planning to throw a couple of thousand at a roulette 'experiment', on the off chance it might make us some money! We appreciate entirely that it is down to luck, but want to make completely sure that that we're getting as fair a crack as possible.

Ok - The idea is this!

We throw in a couple of thousand dollars/credits between us, and bet twenty dollars on four different numbers every spin. The idea being, everytime we get about a 1 in 9 chance of hitting 720 dollars/credits. Play until we either a) Lose it all b) Double our money. If we get a few good hits, we play until we get nine straight spins without a win, then cash out and split the profit - whilst re-investing the original stake. We could potentially lose it all, but then again we could do really well (that's gambling I suppose!)

Anyhow, I suppose the question is which Casino to use! I'm familiar with both Microgaming and Cryptologic, but entirely unsure of which of the two is 'fairer' so to speak! Is there anything I should know about in terms of how the two different platforms operate, or are they both truly, genuinely random, and I've got as good a chance at either???

It'll be single zero (European) roulette to keep the odds as much in our favour as possible - and it'll be interesting to see how we get on!

All input/advice very much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

There shouldn't be any difference in "fairness" at either a Microgaming or a Playtech casino from a software perspective.

I'd recommend making sure that the casino has a good reputation for paying out winners. (Do a search on the board here.) And be sure to read the terms and conditions of the bonuses.

And yes, it's all about luck. Roulette is still a negative expectation game.

Ah, thanks! This is what I hoped. It's just with people talking about 'streaky' blackjack and such-like, I thought some casino's roulette might operate in a similar fashion.. ("He's won a bit, we'll let him lose for a while now etc etc).

The odds are so dreadful in roulette, you wouldn't think any casino would be daft enough to cheat, but I'm learning everyday!

Thanks again!

P.S - I like the bit about making sure the casino is good at paying out winners... Love your confidence!! :D

I can think of better things to do with a few thousand bucks!

I've played quite a bit of Roulette at Crypto's and think it is probably a fair game. The graphics are also 100x better than MG (as if you care!). About a year ago, I used my own pattern of covering sets of 18 numbers, and 12 numbers, (with different chip values) alternating between the two different sets depending on which ones had not hit in the longest time (eg 3-4 spins).
I had an amazing run of winning nearly every day for a week, and turned about $300 into $2000 (only small bets). Then, just as I was thinking what I would do when I was a millionaire, my luck changed and all I did was lose, lose, lose. Fortunately I was sensible enough to 'bail out' when I got back to $1000 - and I've hardly played since.
But Roulette is like that - you can be flying high, and then it will bite you in the ass!
My advice would be - don't do it! (I'm a chicken!)
But if you must - I wish you all the luck in the world!

Please let us know how you get on!

Heh heh! :D

Thanks for that!

I realise it's a high risk strategy, but it's something daft to do over a few beers on a Friday night. Wanted something with potential high return, high excitement - but with little need for rational thought and strategy! :D

We reckon we're going to do it once a month on different games, with different spreads and ideas! It was originally going to be Blackjack this time round, but after playing 'for fun' today, decided Roulette was the highest potential return Vs Effort Vs Stake, and best potential for a great story down the pub afterwards (win OR lose!)

Will definitely post up some results from the game log things after the first round and, if we stay afloat, on an ongoing basis! Someone has to beat the casino sometime I reckon Hee hee ;)

I like Crypto roulette also, I prefer the Omni because I have had good experiences with them.

You already know to use the European single zero, si I have no further comment.

Europeans are a lot more into roulette than Americans. I had a roulette table when I was a kid and used to bet candy on it with the other neighborhood kids....

I know you don't specifically mention bonuses in your original post, but Randy makes mention of them in his reply ...

Please understand that most (if not all) casinos state that a player cannot play Roulette if he/she takes a bonus. I'd hate for you to invest any money in pursuit of this strategy only to find out you can't do it because you accepted a bonus.

Just my .02 cents before you invest your $1,000s ...

sloters, i would use micro over any casino right now, i had a good run there.
And give it a try long as it not your bill money.
People that dont take chances never make money

hood logic 101

Good luck slotster and your mates too, I hope you clean out the casino and come back to tell us all how much you made

Why you don't try your luck at a landbased casino mate? :eek2:

We thought about the land based casino thing, but you don't really get the right atmosphere/action over here to make it worthwhile. Plus, we're hoping it might take some time!...Hee hee.

More to the point though, the takeaway, the booze and the strategy are all in place.. The casino has been selected and the money deposited. Roll on the weekend.

Watch this space :D

If it's a Crypto one you've chosen - please can you tell us which one, and when you are playing?
Then, please use a multi-player table so we can all log in and watch!!! :D

Good luck mate!

Thank-you! :D

It's Microgaming unfortunately, we're intending to have a practice run tonight on 1 credit bets with a 150 credit limit... I'll be sure to report back either way (win or lose)

Round one!

Players - 1
Casino - 0
Hangovers - 3

:D

It went on FOREVER!!!!!!! Got really lucky on the first few spins though, so rarely dipped below our initial deposit. Ended the evening 750 up each, and a tiny bit up on our stake

We're not breaking the casino anytime soon, but a thoroughly enjoyable evening - and a nice night's work. ROLL ON NEXT WEEK!!!!

Round two!

Players - 1
Casino - 1
Hangovers - 3

:D

It didn't go so well this time... Still just even overall, but lost all the 'up' money from round one. The problem was a DREADFUL start! Hit nothing for a really long streak, so we were never really in profit and took forever to get back up. Sticking with the system though, and may even up the stakes this weekend!

Looking at maybe switching casino's too, you never know! Maybe another within the Belle Rock group, or might even give it a try at old favourite 32RED... More news next week!

Good suggestion, gfkostas. That would be even better considering their goals, because they'll get free drinks while they play!

Plus they would of got a 100% fair game beyond any doubt, comp points, chicks etc :D :D

Round three!

Players - 2
Casino - 1
Hangovers - 3 (Really bad this time)

Great result over this session. Early wins again setting the precedent, and we all left 875 to the good.

It's taking toooooo long though. We were looking for something a bit daft and quick, but it's not happening like that. It's a bit up, then a bit down, then up, then up, then down etc. We even tried to do a crazy 500 red or black thing for a bit, but it only lets you go up to 80.

Ah well, see what happens next week.

Free drinks is one thing....If you willing to make bets like 500 on red like the dude said then i can assure you that you can find many casinos in the UK to be more than willing to accomodate you for a night. It's too late now for suggestions as they have already started but in their position i would have gone for example to Knightsbridge at Park Tower casino which gives you the ability to have a private table, drinks, waitress available to assist you ;) and all the sort of things you would require :p.I would of gone there with my mates and one dozen of beers .Now that's what i would call exciting :D

Ah...we're by no means high rollers! We just decided to chuck a few grand between us in, and got lucky a few times... It's when the beers start flowing that the silly bets kick in :D

Besides - when I say a 'few' 500 bets up there, I mean one - unless we win :p

Not sure the bankroll would last us long on a private table should the wheel go against us early doors!

this looks like a good table to use
