Comments Welcome Now we know why Norwegians do well on DoA.....

Old / Expired Link

Interesting article from the International Labour Organization:

This is a massive survey on the real wealth (of those working) in the leading nations compared to the world average. It includes actual spending power which relates directly to standard of living. It appears much of Norway's wealth is spent on DoA though...:D

Once upon a time they were our poor neighbours.
Then they found some oil :eek2:

Beautiful country and nice DoA-playing people:thumbsup:

Well, it came a surprise that in the UK the worker has a higher purchasing capacity than Germany or Sweden. In fact, as Norway (sensibly) is not in the stupid EU, aside from the minnow principality of Luxembourg it makes the UK highest of the bigger European Union nations. Belgium next! What's the world coming to....?

Thanks - I too found this interesting.

I'm not surprised to see Norway so high on the list, although Germany's positioning was lower than I expected, as was Australia's.

From various economics articles I've read I gather that Norway is (as Tirilej points out) fortunate in its oil resources, but it appears that this wealth has been very efficiently managed and invested by the country's leadership in order to sustain its impact well into the future.
