 Hi everyone..
something strange happened to me tonight and I was wondering if anyone knows the deal on this issue..
I won 2500 at nostalgia. I won this funding my casino account with a prepaid visa card. Now..went I asked for a withdrawl via check by courier I was told that my request would be forwarded to management but there should be no problem since I am a valued "platinum" player. Tonight I go into live chat because i wanted to be sure there were no problems and I hadn't received any correspondence from the casino and I was told that my payout was sent to Firepay and Neteller. That I was not able to get a check via courier. I argued the point and i was told thats how i am going to get paid because in the past i had used both neteller and firepay.!! Now i havent used either one of these companies for a while. At least a month or two. I have been funding all of my gaming with prepaid visa cards. when I sent an email i received this response from Kim:

As per the casino policy we are returning the funds to your FirePay and Neteller accounts. $750 is being returned to your FirePay while $1850 is being sent to your Neteller and should be available in a few hours (FirePay withdrawals may take up to forty-eight hours to arrive). I believe we discussed this matter in chat earlier where it was explained that we were unable to send a check due to the policies and agreements. I apologize for the confusion.

my question is what policies and agreements???? I really feel like this is wrong. Why can't a check be sent to me and why must it go to firepay and neteller?? Has anyone experienced anything like this? in chat i was told it has nothing to do with how i funded the play that i won on. It goes back to how I funded my play in the past.
any insite on this would be appreciated. In the long run this is going to work out ok but I still feel that my request for a check should have been honored.
thanks in advance,
Kellye:what:
ps i did send a pm to the person shown under casino operators..just wanted to mention that.

Thanks! :D

Sounds strange, but I'm sure there is a good reason for this. Looking forward to hearing why.

this is another email i just received...
still makes no sense..

Dear Kellye,

Thank you for contacting Nostalgia Casino.

The funds sent to your NETeller account should now be available. As per our previous chat the system does not track which deposits are connected to cashins, it tracks deposits made by the player and is part of our agreement with these companies and part of our withdrawal policy you agreed to when you registered an account with us. I apologize for the confusion.

i havent checked to see if they are at neteller...
I just think this seems shady..
anyways i will keep you posted..

Hi Kellye,

It's true that a lot of casinos have this policy in their T&C's. They will first pay back the original deposit amount to whatever accounts you've deposited from in the past, and the surplus amount they will pay however you choose. I think it may have to do with security and maybe some deals they made with the e-cash vendor, e.g. Neteller. I'm not sure. But as long as it's in the original T&C's the casino have a right to do this.

I've circumflexed this problem by having a little e-mail chat with a casino BEFORE I deposit, e.g. I ask them whether I can receive all my future winnings by Neteller although I've deposited with a credit card in the past. If they don't agree to do this, I can choose to deposit at some other casino. If they do agree, I've got it in writing.

Of course, I mainly play at 32Red, so right from the start I could freely choose whichever way I wanted my winnings and there has never been any problem, but I also play at some other casinos, and at least 888.com and Geisha Lounge have both said no problem, they'll pay via Neteller.

Main thing is you'll get your money Kellye:thumbsup: Congrats on the win

Cheers,
SM

My bet is it has to do with money laundering, especially if you are US based where the laws on this are particurly tight. There is, i believe, similar rules in place with Ecash at Crypto's where your withdrawals are limited by your deposit methods.

Casinos are an easy target for ML gangs if you think about it...deposit from one source, get paid back to another source, all offshore regulated and therefore no paper trail for the IRS. Most casinos have stringent policies in place for this so i am lead to believe.

Simmo!

what bs!!!

I make my casino deposits with prepaid mastercards as well, its a great way to manage what you spend online a month. And i have no problem waiting for a check to arive via fedex...lol I can see larger ammounts only being done by say ach or bank wire as that was the case when i cashed in 12k at vegas7 in 2004.

Back in Sept i won 6k at a casino rewards casino and at the time they still accepted prepaidatm for deposits but not cashins, they sent me a check without any issues and did not even charge me a fee :) Getting a check really is the best way, you have cash in hand and that cash in hand really makes you wanna go to the mall...lol or pay off those bills you have been wanting to pay off lol

I may be wrong but IMO they want your $$$ to go back to firepay or neteller cuase its just so much more easy to re-deposit. Thats why i dont use firepay, neteller, or click2pay!

Prepaid mastercards work just fine (netspend) or even those one time use gift mastercards at your grocery store work just fine, as those can be registerd in your name before you use them :)

Casinos have no problem taking your deposit in many many ways they can come up with, so it should be your choice to take your winnings any way you choose!!!!

The simplest explanation for this is that they can claim back fees that they incur for making or accepting payments through Neteller or Firepay by simply reversing a number of transactions, at least within a certain time period.

Thus, at most casinos, whenever you play, the casino will always refund back to whatever payment methods you have used in the recent past before it will actually use other methods such as wire transfer or check.

Now - you shouldn't really worry about getting paid back to Neteller, as you could then (in theory) transfer it back to your linked bank account without any charges. Not only does this mean you can withdraw money faster, it also saves them (and you) a lot of fees.

Thanks everyone for your input on this.
I think it bites the BIG ONE but I guess it is all legal.
I think it is truly BS that because in the past I used these services and now I must get paid back through them. What if I had a dispute or something?
I really really don't get the reason why, for some reason it is going over my head LOL..
I guess I just need to be prepared for anything when it comes to dealing with these casinos. what sounds like alotta BS can end up being part of their T&Cs. I tried to find this in their T&Cs by the way. I found something close but not truly dealing with this. It makes it sound like if you deposit thru these companies and win...with those funds, that the money first goes back through them. It doesnt spell out the fact if later down the road you deposit cash that they still get it too...

thanks again all
good stuff coming out of this forum

Simmo!

isnt that exactly what they are doing ? i.e. paying back to a different source.

if its to do with money laundering imo, this system makes it easier.

i.e. i have $10,000 from last weeks crack cocaine sales, i stick $1,000 in neteller, put the other on a prepaid card, then deposit both into casino, then withdraw back to neteller, i then claim my $1,000 deposit from neteller won me $10,000, hey presto my money is cleaned, hence the term laundering.

as to avoiding IRS, the whole point of ML is to pay tax on the money, because once this done the money is then legit.

Agreement

Coincidence?
Instant Neteller payments have been extended to all Casino Action Casinos with no charge to the player, and now they insist on refunding all past deposits from Neteller back there. This is exactly how I have found instant payments to be working at Phoenician. When I withdraw, I don't get a single payment to Neteller as I used to with a flushed withdrawal (I'm Platinum); I get odd amounts that must reflect distant previous deposits.
Depositing by other means (including Click2Pay), does not stop me getting the whole lot back to Neteller on request, although the instant payment separates these out, and states they will be returned to the original method, and then puts it all in Neteller anyway!!
It is wrong to state that there is no fee to transfer from Neteller to the linked account. For me the fee is 1, as opposed to 2 for a check from Neteller. Bear in mind that Casino Action will charge around $8 for a cheque, possibly more for a courier one, although Platinum players are supposed to not be charged (although all these listed benefits are outdated, where is the "priority phone" they have up as a VIP benefit?).
I expect that returning long past deposits to Neteller, instant or not, does not result in fees for the casino, and as most players will expect to have a negative lifetime outcome at a casino in the long term must result in considerable savings over sending all payments to the players method of choice. I expect money laundering issues come lower down in priority in making this rule.

a lot of these MG's run their operations from london and when they do this are in breach of UK law, for example when betting with a UK bookmaker online if you lose bank card and hence your bank card changes number even that is constitued as going to a DIFFERENT source and you are payed by cheque.

hopefully if people are willing to contribute, if we can compile a list of companies which run ANY part of their operation in the UK we can start sorting out some of this crap what is happening.

Really ...what is the point? ..why are they doing this??? who benefits??
I noticed they did not give me any options on the amounts that were over the allocated amts to the third parties paysources either. In other words..they just decided to pay it all to neteller..I shouldv'e at least been given an option on the remaining dollars but NONE was given. What really pissed me off is I had asked for that courier check three times..I kept going back to make sure no problems had arrose...Can you believe that even up to tonight I have received not one email from Nostalgia telling me that the check was never sent and they paid me thru Firepay and Neteller...So if i hadnt been going into live support and asking, i would be sitting here waiting on that check.. I have received some official notification from their finance dept...but i didn't ..sorry for rambling but sometimes it's hard to get to the point when you are typing and you r Pissed off...

thanks for getting this far...

kelly if there is one thing whats pisses me off more than a slow payer, its those who pay to a different source.

the simple fact of the situation is no matter what country these companies operate from, is that goverments around the world frown on this behaviour, i.e. as it aids money laundering in the example i gave earlier in the thread and more importantly in this day and age gives terrorists a less traceable and charge free method of transferring funds around the world.

as i said above if we can compile a list of these companies operating in the UK we should be able to get them to change their methods or they will risk being closed down.

Kellye?

Are your neteller and firepay accounts open? Isnt it FASTER if they pay you that way? Transferring back to your bank account or withdraweling with the neteller debit card is much faster, isnt it?????

Hi..Yes, they are open. A mailed check via courier is supposed to take 3 business days max..and if you deposit into neteller it is immediate but then you are looking at five business days i think it get the check. In any event, I discussed my options with the casino..and was told i had the option...only after a couple days did they come back and say they were going to credit my neteller and firepay accts. I dont have a debit card at neteller..maybe i should. I just never use them that often. I guess was got me was the fact that the money I won on was not money deposited via neteller. it felt strange when they said they were paying neteller and not sending me the check. I just think that if an option is made available, they should stick by the offer or at least notify us if there is some reason they cannot. I never received any notification regarding the payout..the only reason i knew was because i went and asked the casino. I shortly received emails explaining that i had received the credits at neteller and firepay. ..

i appreciate all the replys to my post everyone. It has been an eye opener to say the least..take care and good luck

If you have a neteller debit card you can deposit your winnings to it and have your money within 15 minutes to 1 hour. The only downside it they have a 1000.00 limit per day.

Neteller Card

Don't forget the fees though, they even charge just to check the balance!!! They charge you for NOT using the card too (if there is anything on it). I always transfer from Neteller to my Bank for a fixed fee of 1. Cheques are also free to deposit in my bank, and cash withdrawals from the cheque are free from the ATM run by the banks. (The UK does have ATM's that charge a fee too though).

In the end it should be your choice

IMO it should be the players choice how they want to get paid. I used prepaidatm untill they were removed as a deposit and cashin option from most all casinos. I never had any issues with prepaid (hell in August prepaidatm was giving away $1000 a day that month, and i won!!) and you could withdrawl $2000 a day with there ATM card.

Since prepaidatm has been removed I chose to get paid by ACH , bank wire, or a check. I have no problem waiting for a bank wire to hit my bank account and no problem paying the fedex fee for a check. And some casinos dont charge a fee for a check, and the usual fee for a ACH is $10 and a bank wire around $30

Has anyone ever added up the fees to deposit into your neteller account?? sure getting a cashin sent to your neteller account may be free but what about the fees to add funds to it? back in the prepaidatm days if you did a moneygram to add funds the cost would be $11.95 no matter what amount you were putting into your account, yes high if you were just putting in say $50 but if I was funding $500 into my prepaidatm account the fee was still less than neteller.

Even now its less money(for me anyway) to use a prepaid mastercard or visa to make deposits into a casino, not to mention the prepaid mastercard/visa is not just for gaming, i can use it for whatever i chose to.

I think casinos should just let us make the choice how we want to get paid. What about casinos that take e-check or bank wire from us?? will they say we cant have our cashin by check?? lol

Although this isn't exactly customer service par excellence (since she DID request the withdrawal via check), the casino's method seems easier, IMO.

Assuming that all funds are cleared in Neteller, then you can withdraw from Neteller via ACH - yes, free of charge - with the funds hitting your bank account within a day or two. So - assuming that the casino was correct in stating that it was instantly transferred to Neteller - she would have access to those funds within 48 hours of her chat with the casino. Isn't that preferable than waiting 3 days for a check?

As for Crypto's ecash (which runs Intercasino), I typically deposit via Neteller's Instacash and withdraw via Citadel. Funds are within my bank account within 2-3 business days.

This is interesting, and not something I've noticed, Vinyl - what sort of charges have you experienced in this line, please?

Neteller Fees

All these fees are in the small print:-

Withdraw by Cheque from cleared Neteller balance 2
Transfer from Neteller to connected bank account 1

I also looked at the card, but did not bother. There is a fee of around 1 to 2 Canadian Dollars per card related event, be that checking the balance or making a withdrawal. There is a fee to transfer funds onto the card from Neteller, and if the card is not used for 90 consecutive days there is a dormancy fee levied on any balance lingering on the card.
Transfers to my bank are a flat 1, whatever the amount, and withdrawals from my BANK via ATM are free from bank owned or linked ATM outlets. Those outlets that charge usually levy a fee of 1.50 to 2 (around $3), but at least allow the checking of the balance for free. With this, the Neteller ATM card is wasteful as I don't normally want the cash that quickly, but can wait a week for it in the bank.
The fees appear different from others points of view, but don't forget I live in "Rip Off Britain!".

Thanks - I was especially interested in the card and I had missed some of those charges. Much obliged!
