I fell for this and opened an account at Fortune Room (Fortune Affiliates).

The email clearly said if you use the link in the email and download/open a new account, you would deposit $20 and receive $50 to your Neteller account with no wagering required. Nope! I opened a new account (did not have one and verified with support there was no existing account). Deposited $20 by Neteller. A couple days later, the $50 was put in my casino account, NOT NETELLER. The casino also deposited $10 into my casino account as a "first deposit bonus." I did not request this. They say I did but I didn't. I just wanted the "free lunch" $50 for $20.

Of course when I tried to withdraw the money to my Neteller (where it was supposed to have gone in the first place) it was declined. Now the casino wants wagering requirements to withdraw the "free $50."

OK, I got it. I'm stupid and the trick is on me!:(

NOT THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

This email came after I claimed the $50 for $20"

Thank you for participating in BB's "$50 FREE CASH" promotion.
Your account details have been received.
Upon verification of your new account and deposit, BB's will deposit $50

You are free to request this bonus at any time, since the $50 from BB's is
in addition to the standard new player's bonus!

The point being that you made a sweeping statement that "there are always WR attached." It appears you needed some proof that my original statements were true.

BB $50.00 TO NETELLER

I got the e-mail from BB and followed the directions exactly, i received both
the casinos 100% signup AND the $50.00 to my neteller account. I downloaded 2 casinos from the e-mail as instructed and got the $50.00 2 times , and both times the $50.00 went to my neteller account as promised.
I think this was a great offer from BB and I had no trouble at all.

Paps and Lane, you guys seem really lucky! Will you touch my hand?:)

1) Affy sets up CPA (cost per acquisition) deal with casino.

2) Affy gets deposits through affy link with a $50 cash incentive to players.

3) Affy pockets $150 / $200 / $250 CPA payment, rebates players $50, ends up with $100 / $150 / $200 profit per player.

Incentive to player: bucketloads of easy cash.

Incentive to affy: bucketloads of bucketloads of easy cash.

Incentive to casino: amongst the bucketloads of freebie hunters the acquisition of whom is costing them bucketloads of CPA payments, there may be swimming a big, fat, juicy whale who will end up losing...bucketloads.

This is not something I'd have anything to do with, my personal opinion being that it's an affiliate ripoff trick. Of course, if the casino snags its whale then everyone's happy - but it's not rocket science to see how at best open to abuse, and at worst purely abusive, this technique is: the affiliate is manipulating the CPA deal by drawing in an obviously inflated number players that are there only for the $50 freebie, as opposed to a normally balanced number of freebie hunters mixed in with the "ordinary" players.

The danger for the players is that the unwitting ones, those downloading in the normal course of events with no particular eye on $50 free cash, could find themselves at the mercy of an account carrying a barred affiliate's code. Like me, for example, in my Grand Virtual case (currently under review) in which I was denied a cashout on just that basis.

Those players downloading in direct conspiracy with an affiliate obviously deserve everything they get - as does the affiliate.

This case seems to fall between the two extremes. Either way, it's something to have your eyes open to and not get involved with.

Caruso, your thoughts are really appreciated. I have been getting A LOT of flack over this (but I can take it LOL) but it seemed to be squirly and your impressions confirm that. Despite all the "encouragement" I am getting to "recoup" my loss by taking up the offer again at another FL casino, I have passed. Fool me once.............: ;)

First time poster running to the defense of BB's JUST like the other forums....wow..isnt that just canny?

Hi There

I am the owner of BB's Casino Connection.

Several members of BB's have contacted me with news of this post regarding the promotion that we are currently running for our members, which offers anyone who opens a new "Real money" account at any one of the 9 Fortune Lounge casinos, and then makes at least one deposit, a CASH payment of $50. Sounds almost too good to be true, doesn't it?

Well let me assure you all - this offer is 100% legitimate!

BB's will pay anyone $50 CASH via NETeller, if all of the following are verified:
- You have no previous or existing accounts at the casino.
- You registered the new account through one of the links provided by BB's
- You make at least one deposit in the new account. The minimum amount is $20.

(If you do not have a NETeller account, you can still get in on this offer! We will have the casino deposit $50 CASH directly into your casino account. That is CASH - straight from BB's to you. There are NO terms and NO playthrough requirements on the $50. This can be verified by contacting the casino support staff.)

Some people ask me how it is possible to offer this promotion, which obviously costs more money than it brings in... The answer is simple. BB's is paid a referral fee by a marketing company that advertises the Fortune Lounge group of nine (Viper) casinos. As an incentive for players to register their new Fortune Lounge casino accounts through BB's "referrer links" and banners, we have decided to refund a generous portion of the referral fee right back to the players who chose to sign up through our links and banners!

That's it! It's quite simple actually!

Thank you for taking the time to read this message.

I never went for those things.

I don't do those things and why would he do that really just give out money really. So you would get free $50 for depositing plus play your deposit and bonus too? Why would he do this he would lose so much money.

I think it is a shame that Suzecat used this site as a venue to harm BB's Casino Connection and Fortune Lounge. She did get her $50 but it was put into her player account instead of her Neteller account. The situation was further clouded because she accepted a first deposit bonus which caused her to have wagering requirements, rather than be able to cash out the $50 and run, like she wanted to do.

All she had to do was go to BB's Casino Connection forum and post in the thread they have there regarding the promotion to have it straightened out and/or decline the first deposit bonus. Instead she was impatient and played on all of the money and then was unhappy when she lost it all.

I believe that this section of Casinomeister's site serves a very important function. It is the first place I look at before depositing. When people use it as a way to get back at someone for a minor error to or express losers' scorn, it makes me angry.

The above post, nor the response from the affiliate a couple of posts above, addresses the fact that these are unethical affiliate tactices. The affiliate tells us the offer is genuine. Of course it is, it's simple mathematics: 150 - 50 = 100. Get five hundred of those and that's a nice annual score.

If Fortune Lounge are happy with this, all well and good. But it sets a bad standard to operate by, because if less cash-rich casinos than Fortune Lounge end up on the receiving end of these CPA sleight-of-hands, it'll be bad news for the player in the end. Aside from the disadvantages of carrying a dodgy affiliate code, if the casino gets affy-raped it may lead to payment issues even beyond the dodgy affy code.

Yes, the "deal" is genuine. However, as a player you would be a mug to get involved with this kind of thing or these kinds of affiliates.

It's a small world girls.

This guy is with Slickstreet Marketing, the same company that's spamming the hell out of everybody. They don't know how this promotion works.

Fortune Lounge is taking the position that this spammer is employed by "Slickstreet Marketing" and they do not have direct control, but they want to know about it.

We do not know how this is working as he does not deal with Fortune Affiliates.
In terms of SPAM if you have been spammed and can't unsubscribe then send me details ([email protected]) and I'll take it up with Slickstreet.

What makes me angry are posts from people who do not know what they are talking about! Get it! When I contacted Dave about the problem BEFORE I PLAYED AT THE CASINO he IGNORED MY EMAILS. I NEVER REQUESTED A FIRST DEPOSIT BONUS FROM THE CASINO AND DAVE COULD NOT HAVE FIXED THAT. I CALLED THE CASINO MANAGER AND HE TOLD ME TO WAGER BEFORE I COULD CASH OUT. If you take up this offer you need to know all the facts.

Many casinos deposit bonuses without being asked; especially a first deposit bonus. If you were really intent on cashing out the $50 from BB, you could have/should have asked to have that $10 bonus removed so that you didn't have to play it through?

Heerlen, if only the casino manager would have agreed to do that............he was kind of rude and possibly/probably in a very bad mood.

Well Blow Me Away Fortune Lounge!

Fortune Lounge/Fortune Room :D has put the money back into my casino account (even though I lost it....?) I do not know what this means, but I will accept the good will and say thank you to Wim for his efforts on my behalf.

Fortune Lounge has also now busted the abusive affiliate, which is hardly surprising now that details of the scheme have become public.

I HATE when they do that!!!!!

When I download a casino I want to play, not mess around with uncooperative personell to have a bonus removed I never asked for. I don't think casinos should ever touch your account unless they have your permission, not to take things out and not to put things in.

By the time they take out the bonus , I have lost the mood to play.

What is even worse is when they put it in while you are playing and you don't notice. Happened to me and I assumed I hit something and didn't notice. Well, time came to cash out and I got a very nasty surprise because I had to fulfill a wagering reqirement I did not know about for money I did not ask for or know about.

I was furious!!!!

Ask people when they leave the bank whether they want a bonus or not and link to your T&Cs. It's a very simple page to insert. If you can't get your designer to make one, I'll have it done for you. Geez! My favorite thing to get upset about!

How do you know? Is there a post or press release somewhere?

Are they going to mail an apology to everybody? :D

Mary, I think we're at cross-purposes: this relates to the matter of the affiliate offering a $50 sweetner for deposits of $20 or more, "BB" Ezboard or something. This isn't about that spam issue.

Gotcha. Good move on that CPA aff; the site was making my eyes bleed when I looked at it.

This is what happens when casinos encourage CPA affiliates to offer incentives to players to sign up.

Say the affiliate gets $100 CPA (i.e. per person he refers who deposits)

So now the affiliate offers, with the permission of the casino, $50 to every player who will deposit.

The players deposit $20, collect a bonus and play the $20 and the bonus and go home to collect the $50 out of their neteller. Who loses big time? The casino.

So now maybe the casino decides to try to rescue the situation and allows the affiliate to donate the $50 incentive to be deposited in the referred players account - an unusual arrangement to say the least and one demanding full cooperation of the casinos.

So the new player plays that along with the $20 deposit and the bonus and doesn't deposit anymore.

Who loses? The casino.

So now the casino has had it and tells the affiliate that they are not going to pay $100 a head for a $20 deposit. Plus absorb possible winnings and the bonuses.

So now the affiliate has no money to pay the players anymore.

I am not saying that is what happened here - but it sure rings true and has happened elsewhere. Repeatedly over time.

There are a number of variations of this, and usually either the casinos or the players get scammed. Not always, but more often than not this is fraudulent, whether by intent or because the thing blows up in the affiliate's face.

I will leave you to conclude what the moral of that story is.

What difference does it make if I posted once or a thousand times?
The fact of the matter is that I did receive the $50.00, bonus as promised
by BB without any trouble. I was simply pointing out that not everyone had a bad time with this bonus.
Should I be slammed for sharing my positive experience with this offer?, I don't think so!
The point of these forums is to share gambling experiences both good and bad, is it not? Hardly a nice welcome to this forum now is it?

Lane13, I could not agree with you more. "Getting slammed" is unfortunately a (frequent) consequence of controversial subjects in posts. And from my perspective, as unruly as the discussions on this topic have been elsewhere, you were always pleasant and cordial. I appreciate you and meant to tell you that over at OPU. ;)

The point here really isn't whether BB (I have no knowledge of this person or the entire situation) meant to do the right thing or not.

My assumption would be s/he thought it was a good business opportunity and had every intention of doing it right and making it a permanent offer.
I could be wrong, and it could have been a fly by night scheme, but let's assume the above.

It blew up in his/her face because no casino in it's right mind will pay $100 for a $20 deposit. Probably both the affiliate and the casino counted on players to redeposit and generate more income, which apparently didn't happen.

So the idea didn't work. Now the argument is over who should be left holding the bag.

No one should have to take the fall in this. This should have never happened.

All 3 parties should be too smart to take part in these things.

No problem SLOTCHIK, Like I said before I did get the bonus, however I don't blame folks for getting their backs up about these offers as there are so many that are not legit. If only these bloody online casinos and people who promote them would just let us deposit and play without jumping through so many darn hoops!
It seems that you almost need a lawyer beside you to read the silly terms and conditions some of these casinos list before you make a deposit. I can tell you that the casinos I deposit at are few and far between these days for that very reason.
No hard feelings SLOTCHIK :)

I LOVE THIS FORUM

I have 7 brothers and sisters living all over the US and I can come here and not miss them so much when I read all this. This sounds like discussions or arguments we would have back and forth:D Gotta love it.

You deposited 20.00.. You got a 60.00 bonus from the casino and 50 bucks in your neteller.

So you are up 30.00 cash and 60.00 in bonuses.

What are you complaining about?

Dear one, this thread is about a much bigger issue than one person's complaints.
