So, it seems we can now also expect Lady's Night tourneys at MG casino's.
Jackpot Factory Group now has a LN tourney running.
Cool, I thought, until I actually started to play..

You thought Thunderstruck was slow?
Nah, Thunderstruck is actually SUPER ULTRA FAST compared to Ladys Night!
6 spins per minute, that is, until I hit the free spins, then it goes down to 3-4 spins per minute.

Nice one MG, your software is BY FAR the SLOWEST an CRAPPY playing software on the entire internet.
Even TOP GAME is faster!
You should be ashamed of yourselves!

And don't come up with this graphic intensive bullshit, because when these games were first released, my PC had to be invented yet.

So they have like 500 slots in the casino and 4 of them are available in tournaments. Then when they add a 5th they pick a clone of one of those 4, makes no sense.

Went to test it, I was getting 19 spins/minute on Ladies Night in the tournament but it did seem like the new lobby interface was a bit more demanding on computer resources.

What are the specs of your PC if I may ask?
I could not even get close to a result like that.

I just dont get it, these games have been around for more than 10 years now, when Thunderstruck was first released, the fastest PC was a P.III with a Gforce 2 MX 32MB videocard, which would cost you a small fortune.

PC's have only gotten faster and faster, and the games are playing slower and slower, so wtf is wrong?

See what other resources are running in the backround...if you go to your msconfig.exe and stop most of your programs from running in the backround, which you really do not need such as the software updates like adobe updater etc....that will help tremendously..Windows needs at least 2 gigs to run smoothley anymore and Vista needs a minimum of 3 gigs...so if you are close to that..you need to update your memory..I just updated mine and added another 2 gigs...helped a lot..

Then clean you computer from a lot of junk:

go to start:run: and type in:
%temp%
temp
prefetch
cookies

and delete those files that you find .....they are cumbersome..hope at least one of these tips help...

another way to make an MG game play faster is to open a media window in the back round (like windows or yahoo or even youtube) as long as it is open it revs up the casino some..

.

It sounds as if MGS is throttling the slots in the tourneys more than it is the OP's computer that is in question; especially if the other games play just fine.

Good advice, Just timed Ladies night and I am also getting a comfortable 19 spins a minute (less obviously if the feature hits) 6 spins a minute seems seriously slow. What is taking the time on yours? the 5 reels actually spinning, or are they sticking between each spin?

Just for the record De Beuker, Thunderstruck was first released in 2004, so computers were more advanced and cheaper than in your example.

But was your test in tournament mode? It's a well known fact that MGS throttles spins in tournament mode. VWM proved this months ago.

The throttle, however, is set to allow no more than one spin every 3 seconds, so it should be possible to get 20 per minute (one every 3 seconds), but no more. Unfortunately, hit the throttle, and it doesn't just limit you to 3 seconds, it creates SIX SECOND OR MORE gaps between EVERY SPIN until you "kill" the throttle. This can only be done by manually not spinning for 5 seconds or more, before again attempting one every three seconds.

This also DESTROYS any enjoyment, since you have to watch the timer, and you CANNOT simply spin away as fast as you can if you have a high spec PC.

Could that throttle be the reason for the 9-liners to spin so terribly slow in tournament mode?
In normal play TS and Lady's Night spin 3 times faster.
Tomb Raider and Avalon do not suffer from this, they spin at the same speed in tournament mode as they do in normal play.
Thunderstruck and Lady's Night in tournamentmode is like the reels are spinning in thick syrup, lol..

Yes, Avalon in particular is much slower, so there is little impact of this 3 second throttling. Tomb Raider DOES suffer, if anything MORE than Thunderstruck. Ladies Nite is a clone of Thunderstruck, so should perform the same in both modes.

Loaded is slower in tournament mode, meaning the ONLY viable tactic is to take 12@4x for the feature.

Hitman is worst of all, the features play VERY slow, and are often crap. It is the same in either mode.

The lobby upgrade is going to make things even worse, as it is far more resource intensive, so less power is going towards spin speed.
