"He switched 'em, I saw it!"
genius
Not much more to add, perhaps in keeping with this thread's astounding highbrow nature I'll finish with:
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing

How did I miss this thread. Just what the doctor ordered.
Having been a member a over 2,129 online casinos / bingo sites I'm always on the lookout for a new SUB to abuse so great stuff OP.
Both my deposits went through fine and my withdrawal was pretty quick too
Both are now making their way to our local sewerage.
Will be recommending your joint to plenty (not your casino but the one you've obviously been smoking) - My children and 4 and 7 and are also keen to sign up, do they get crayons and a colouring book on their first deposit?

What bothers me is where he says he is from.....
USA??? Please say it isn't so!
Well I don't know about that...!Well yes, this Shatner guy was quite a stallion back then.
I grew up watching ST:TOS (The Original Series) and loved it to bits. Still do for that matter. A couple years ago I rewatched all the original series, three seasons worth. If you can get past the over-acting and cheapo sets it really is quite impressive what they accomplished. The show has often been dismissed as "Gunsmoke in space" but that's not much of a criticism if you ask me. There's a lot of moral complexity running underneath most of the TOS scripts and that's no small thing. Few Sci Fi series have managed as much since.
I've been a life-long Sci Fi fan because of the show and it has to be said that much of the science fiction that has been produced on TV and for the big screen in the last 50 years can trace its creative origins back to ST:TOS. Kirk and crew blazed a hell of a creative trail!
As it happens I love the Chris Pine reboot too, think he does an amazing job of channelling Shatner's original manic energy and ballsy "let's do this!" attitude. Very much looking forward to seeing the new movie.
Well I don't know about that...!
I come from a generation when Star Trek (the original series) was THE program to watch on our little black-and-white TVs.
They may seem corny now - but I absolutely loved those shows!
It was probably because of watching that from a very young age that I became a huge si-fi fan - reading many books and watching many films from this genre from back then to this present day. Most of my all time favourite films are si-fi.
I also liked The Next Generation, but I did lose interest in the "Star Trek saga" after that.
KK
Interestingly I didn't watch TOS (or any other Star Trek Series for that matter) in my childhood but "corrected" that error by watching ALL Star Trek Series during the last 6-7 years. I'm still watching ENTERPRISE season 2, but I rarely find the time nowadays. You are absolutely right about the moral complexity in the scripts. You can argue that Star Trek depicts human evolution during the 21st and 22nd century in an ideal scenario where money is abolished, there is no racism, science and exploration are the main goals of humanity, there is co-operation with other species to create a United Federation of Planets etc. I totally fell in love with TNG and Patrick Stewarts outstanding portrayal of Captain Jean-Luc Picard. You can even argue I actively changed my own personality, self-reflected and tried to be more like him. Seriously.
And there are so many incredibly good episodes like "Measure of a Man" where there is the question what rights androids have or don't have, "I Borg" with a disconnected Borg developing self-awareness that struggles to get along with his new human friends or "Family" where Picard returns to earth to meet with his brother and admitted the great pain he suffered as "Locutus".
will have to have a dig thru my DVD's, although a lot of them are so old now they are really 'jumpy' when played.Wow! - Thought I'd seen all TNG (several times) but don't recall that particular episodewill have to have a dig thru my DVD's, although a lot of them are so old now they are really 'jumpy' when played.
I am Mincher, a Borg, resistance is futile, you will all become one with the Borg!
There's only been one sci-fi worth mentioning in recent times, and that's Firefly.
I had a soft spot for Stargate Universe though![]()
