I don't know how much everyone here is venturing out to try all new games. I can assure you that overall Netent is doing a rather good job when compared to others. The garbage I get to see on a daily basis is mindblowing.
Who speaks about or plays a lot the gazillion releases from Red Tiger (except maybe Laser Fruit), Elk Studios, Yggdrasil, Lightning Box, JustForTheWin, Betsoft, iSoftbet, Ainsworth, 1x2 Gaming, 2BY2 Gaming to name just a few? And I mean to the same extent that we grant DOA or Bonanza? I would guess, nobody.
We only had a few memorable games in the last years, no matter the amount of providers. Fact is that online gaming transitioned from catering to a hardcore gambling community to entertaining an entire "family" from late-teens to grandparents. Both ends of the "family" spectrum have rather low gaming budgets. The hardcore people were mostly HV fans to get a good adrenaline kick, the "family" is looking for entertainment. This is clearly reflected in the "low-risk" games that have been coming to the market lately, where the win potential is low - medium but the variance gives usually plenty of playtime.
The aim is though the same. A provider has to give a new game an aura that it can pay big but you will have fun while losing your money. Big Time Gaming is the best example. When was the last time we saw a 2,000+ x bet win from BTG games, let alone the 10K+ that they should be capable of producing, yet we all keep slogging on them ad nauseam. Just think back 2 years ago when we were all hammering DOA like mad, there were daily screens of 2,000+ in the respective threads.
We can moan about games like Jungle Spirit or Warlords (win potential similar to DOA), but who among us has given those games the same playtime as DOA? I could go even further and ask who chooses regularly the Tiger option with just 4 spins or the Elephant option with 8 spins for their bonus rounds on Jungle Spirit? Because there is were the 2K+ wins are, although the rounds have the highest volatility but then DOA is no different. Are we not taking the countless 4-10x bet wins in DOA bonus rounds on the chin and keep slogging on hoping the next one will give us the monster?
Just my two cents!
