Speaking of constant near hits being fun. I know i mentioned this in the doa thread and brianmon seemed to have similar views of the html version of reel steal, but, i was just wondering again..

After an recent 12 hour all through the night session on doa (with smoke and tea breaks, im not totally crazy) , an hour or 2 of stop start spinning helping to total approximately 80 bonus rounds, again i couldnt help but notice the sheer amount of near misses during the base game. But it, again - at least for me, like always since html upgrade, is never the near misses for the J's, q's, k's or a's (that wouldnt be 'fun', right?) , it was hundreds of near misses on the top 4 paying symbols, especially the top 3. At many times it was simply getting ridiculous. Dont recall going 25 spins of it not actually happening. but never, does it seem to do an -uninteresting- near miss on the lowest symbols.


Now, ok, shit happens. Its just eye candy which doa otherwise lacks for 99.9% of a players time spent playing it it due to its simplicity and distribution of wins, but, did really nothing intentionally change there to make the game seem more interesting and addictive for the noob who doesnt know its potential, while more tilt enducing for the regular player?
The reels are obviously gimped way beyond that of attending party nights accompanying marcellus wallace and butch which are being held at Zed's place, that has changed, what with scatters appearing just above and out of view on a reel that also lands a scatter in view, where its visually BS since the paying scatter lands 2 positions below one that is sometimes showing to apparantly have just missed and landed just out of sight above, on the same reel,, though obviously as you cannot land 2 on the same reel then the positioning of that scatter is wrong. Aka gimped.

Then you have 5 wilds appearing one above the top payline on all 5 reels on a fairlyregular basis for something so 'rare', especially in the bloomin free spins lol.
So yeah, that has been changed after the html downgrade, since neither ever happened previously. So I cant help but feel, since the html downgrade now noticing the continuous near misses (where one symbol is just 1 away from making 5oak) on base game reels for premium symbols, yet strangely, it is almost never EVER the lower symbols (at a conservative guess my last session of 12+ hours was well over 150 near misses of the top 4, mostly top 3 premium symbols, it just seems to absolutely love to do it with the top 2. That, in the same session, versus 1 near miss on j's, less than a handful on q's and k's combined) Just makes me wonder if this is somehow all a combined result of trying to make the game appear more appealing to the newcomer who otherwise may find doa boring as hell and never come back, and more tilting for the reg. since those wilds that 'just miss' producing a wild line out of site are also in themselves kind of a near miss.

None of this happened prior to html downgrade, and ive hit about 35 wildlines on this game + a handful of 5 scatters so yeah ive proudly spent a lot of time prior to html, and also since the html downgrade which since said downgrade seems to be just sessions of me muttering to myself "oh just one away again from 5 sheriff badges/holsters yeah? What a Shocker" as these constant near misses of only high symbols continuously keep appearing.


Anyway, i still love the game. I just fkng hate it.

I think HTML5 actually plays BETTER!

I've had 4 x 5 scatters (had ZERO on the flash version) and my wild lines are catching up fast!

Also feel that the 5OAK Stars, Holster, Hats, boots, Glasses are far more forthcoming on the new version.

All this being said, Burg posted that there had been no mathematical change which coming from the provider itself, I tend to trust and believe.

I think gambling makes us all think all sorts and will drive us all nuts one day, that is if it hasn't already

i dont know if it feels like plays better or worse. Ive had my fair share big hits on both. Im now gone through a severe compensated (lol) stage of some 35 maybe 40 or more lots of 5 extra spins from over some 800 odd bonus rounds with no wildline to show for it, while id never thought while playing the previous one id see even half of that amount of 5 extra spins without a wl to show for it. But hey thats not what im getting at.
It just amazes me, that during my sessions on the html downgrade, i see those top holsters or sherrif badges constantly near missing but not the lower symbols. I went 13hours, before the j's finally did it after seeing holsters ans badges do it no less than 75-100 times. And if im honest, That 13 hour of chasing a near miss on j's wasnt really worth the £115 it cost to finally see it on 9p bets either.
It was sponsered by guts though.(n1 for those spins guts!)

It only sprang to mind since graphically the game, as we all know, has changed. It shows stupid things that it never used to do. And i wondered if some other graphics as what i explained in that unnecessarily long post above, had also been changed in order to make what is a dull game more exciting..
Ill admit, its tilted me twice and if that was the plan, congrats NE. i never noticed it on the previous version despite playing that one a lot more than html, though ive probably had 2 lots of scatters and maybe 10 lines on html since irs release against 25 lines and 3 lots of scatters on the old.. although more gameplay on the old.

Not gonna lie, have had about four wildlines on the 'new' DOA.

Compare that to the 20+ on the old one

I did prefer the higher volatility of the old one, coupled with the 1000 autoplay spin option

Hey Harry, I think we just should be careful about the definition and should try to be accurate for the folks here (so please don't think I'm being a Pedant for Pedantry's sake!). "Max Win on a single spin" in this case WOULD include the possibility of the feature trigger and all it's possibilities. In this case then, Archangels the Max possible win would be 3750x bet, which is pretty good.

"Max base game win" I think would be more acceptable for what you are illustrating - although others can can chime in of course.

I think this isn't just about maximum either, I think its also about the frequency that the spectra of these higher wins can happen too isn't it?

Thanks for your replies. For this quote you were referring to:

Below is a screen shot of the top paying symbols. At minimum bet of $0.40 it pays 150 coins or $1.50

$1.50 / $0.40 = 3.75x bet
100 paylines * 3.75 = 375x bet

That to me is the maximum win on a single spin since there are no multipliers in the base game or in the features. Your game sheet says the same, max. payout on a max. $200 bet is $75,000 = 375x bet.

Of course, we can start counting if a feature is re-activated which will add more Wilds to the screen etc. However, you most likely won't start with a full screen though and work your way up as the screen is filling with more Wild symbols, hence I might give a potential of 500x - 600x bet once in a blue moon if you have 2 - 3 re-triggers. But for a single spin the value of 375x bet is correct.

Just went through my test sheet and I had 28x Heaven Features, 36x Hell Features and 13x Free Spins. Only three times did I have a random Wild landing in the Hot Spot area to re-activate one of the features. And on each occasion, it only did it once. My highest win from a single feature was just over 50x bet. Highest in Free Spins was 121xbet.

Well, coming back to the win potential on Netent games in general, and specific on BerryBurst.

Max win as you stated is around 3,000x bet for the standard version of BerryBURST.

We had the Freeroll Frenzy at VS with three battles over three days, here are the results:

- Total spins: 7031 players x 100 spins = 703,100 spins
- One single player amassing a balance of over 1,000x bet within the 100 spins
- A further 8 players managed a balance higher than 600x bet.

Can you see why your games are just not attractive anymore? The results are nowhere near the max win potential, not even halfway. With so many spins, you'd expect some outliers in each session. But as I mentioned a few times, your games are good for rare 200 - 300x bet wins, very occasional 400x - 600x and basically never the max win.

It is not all bad, but just nothing that entices me to even try the slot for real money. The results below show that noone should expect more than one win >1,000x bet in 1 Million spins, which is probably how the math model is designed.

Berry burst is a bit of a let down, I have only played it in fun mode and its a bit disappointing, starburst is a lot better

Try opening an older flash game (playboy for example) to get the 'enable flash?' prompt. The error occurs because flash is not enabled i think. Try again after accepting the prompt.

If you're using Chrome, it's because of the latest update.
You can no longer save content settings, so need to enable Flash each time you open Chrome.

Click on the padlock in the address bar and change the Flash setting from 'Ask First' to 'Allow'

Well, on one hand im glad we are moving away from Flash but in the time of transitioning over to HTML5 its a bit of a pain, yeah.
