Hi,

I have been a regular at a poker site. They just changed and now they no longer have the tournaments

( 3 daily) that I always played.

The new schedule is almost all re-buys and they all have a one hour late registration, which I don't like.

A 15 minute late reg. should be enough for players.

Also, A lot of the tournaments are satellites, which I don't play either.

Is there a poker site that takes USA players? I have belonged to many, but, most of them cancelled USA players, I think.

Have really missed my card games this las 3 days!

Thanks

let me know too

If you ever find a good one, let me know too pls.
miss the good ole Pokerstars days!!!

Darn, when I seen I had a reply, I was hoping you had a site for me!

I use to play at Intertops Poker and they were taken over on the 1st. I hate the changes!

I really liked it too because they have the casino too and you could transfer money between the 2.

I don't know what I am going to do. I wrote to Intertops and they replied with "We hope you can adjust and find something you like."

In other words............. tough titty!

Anybody know what's up with the Merge Network software changes over the last 2 days (6/5/2012 - 6/6/2012)? So many tourneys "shutdown" - whatever that means - and apparently no more freerolls.

Since I am BlackChip's most prolific fish/donk/chaser/dreamer/loser, they need to provide me with freerolls every hour! Dammit :)

Boy, I still can't find a new site. The places I have checked give me lock poker and a

place called "juicy stakes" poker. But, I can't find out about the tournaments without

downloading and registering. I think the place I play now, Intertops Poker, is part of

Lock, and I hate the changes they made a few months ago.

No one needs a 60 minute late registration window, which they have for EVERY

single tournament!

Plus, most of the tournaments, all most all, are re-buys and/or satellites, which I

hate as well.

Anyone know of anything??

As a US player your only choices are:

Merge (Carbon, Black Chip, Aced and friends) - Biggest US facing network. Lots of action but their fixed limit rake kills that action.

Winning Poker (Americas Cardroom/True Poker) - Well run small network owned by massive sports book. Most action micro or low NLHE.

Revolution Gaming - Lock, Intertops (no longer accepts new US), Cake, Red Star - Massive disaster of a new network that was once Cake Poker. They have some serious growing pains. As a U.S. player I would play on Red Star if I didn't have an account at Intertops already.

Bodog/Bovada - Anonymous tables were a disaster for them and they seem to care little about their poker offering. The management seems focused on preserving their casino and sports revenue at the expense of poker.

There are a couple of tiny US facing sites but the above are the only ones you will find any tournament action on.

I'm with ya weesie, I don't like the changes at Intertops. I don't play rebuy/add-on tourneys and I have never agreed with the hour late sign-in.

I've been playing poker solely at Intertops for a while now, I usually did pretty good. Not any more...

I can't help but think it has something to do with the switch to Rev Gaming...

Their not accepting new USA players.. maybe they want to get rid of the ones they have... hmm

I dunno, maybe I'm just on a really long losing streak... I'm curious to know if anyone else is experiencing the same?

Thanks for asking the question weesie!

Thanks for the poker site info pokeraddict!

Another option is Bitcoin poker sites that are open to the US, if you're willing to buy and sell Bitcoins to play there. (You can buy them over the counter at most convenience stores now, but I think the limit is about $500... to get them out to your bank you need to open an account with one of the websites that lets you buy and sell them -- think similar to Liberty Reserve). The largest poker site there is called "Seals With Clubs." It's still pretty tiny, stakes are low by most standards, and the interface is definitely very, very basic. But there is action to be found there and they do have some decent-sized tournaments (last I heard their biggest was a 100 player(?) 50BTC weekly which translates to about a $650 prize pool at the current exchange rate). Lots of micro freerolls (micro in Bitcoin is like, really small. Think $0.20) and a handful of decent live games. The games tend to be pretty loose and wild, I guess because people still kind of consider it play money.

I should mention that they're my direct competitors and I don't think it's the best move for them to be running poker to the US. But I also know the owner to be a decent guy, we've coordinated somewhat on trying to lay out some player rights and guidelines that Bitcoin gaming sites should abide by, and I generally trust him. And I don't think there's any law yet that outright bans it, since Bitcoin's a virtual currency without banks and it's not covered under the UIGEA any way you read it. We don't run poker to the US because it seems like too much risk for too little reward, and we don't have anywhere near the poker volume they do (pretty much for that reason).

There's another one called BTCOnTilt but I don't recommend it, they closed a few months ago and may not have paid everyone back, and then just showed up again last week with new software. But I can recommend Seals because I know they haven't stiffed anyone. I play there myself (in disguise...only the owner knows it's my account. Another nice thing is they don't take any information to sign up).

Poker

Canada was very lucky to not get the ban hammer on us over online casinos <most of them> and for online poker.

There are Face book groups that do help American gamblers poker sites to play poker on for free to win money legally and to enter tournaments to for bigger prizes.

I thought that the World Poker Tour was working on something for both America and international poker players.

This is an important vote for the United States to vote for a President that want online gambling for its people.

It's a State rights issue, but those votes matter for their state representation.

Currently our Prime Minister could go against online casinos and online poker, and he has a majority government to do it.

Pokerstars have been good to me, and Full Tilt was good when they paid up their players, and same with Party Poker.

Good luck with it.

Glad to See This!

It was just about 3 months ago that I saw a news story on "Bitcoin". I had heard of it before, forgot about it, and now revisited it. I read a few news stories and in that process saw a link for a bitcoin poker site, Seals, and went and checked it out. I'm really glad that I did! I live in the US, and poker sites are hard to come by. Yeah, I know about 5 dimes and have played freerolls there a few times but funding always seemed to be a hassle. Not that buying Bitcoin in the US is any less of a hassle, and in fact I don't recommend trying. But it turns out that there are several places on the web where you can scrub some together doing this and that... one of them is Seals. They have 50 chip freerolls (poker) every hour.... which at today's bitcoin price (about $100 American) are worth about 5 bucks.... enough to get a guy started for sure. And once a week that have freerolls that are more generous ... as high as 5 BTC at times (500 bucks today... 1,250 yesterday ... which is one of the problems with bitcoin at present but if you don't pay for them in the first place... no worries).

Here are some good points and some caution points about the site:

Good:

*) It loads in your browser... you don't have to download some god-knows-what's-in-it software.

*) Lots of freerolls

*) Most of the players are either fish, cannon-ball divers, or generally clueless, so easy money for the patient player.

*) Funds (in bitcoin only) in and out lickety-split. No idiot bank with sticky fingers to please. No vampire taxman. Private and free.

*) It's legal in the US

*) A really huge one: the owner of the operation, Micon, is there all the time, and they keep a great update of what is going on on the forum bitcoitalk.org (which forum is an excellent site for the latest on Bitcoin in general, how to get it where to get it who's doing what where when with it etc etc). Also just first rate customer service. NOt too long ago they were hit with a denial of service attack... just like the big operations and banks get. They kept players updated perfectly as to what was happening. Additionally.. I had bought into a 50 chip tourney when it went down.... scheduled to start in about 30 minutes. I emailed them to request a refund when it was obvious that the tourney (should have) started and then went on to other things... just before I went to sign off, I rechecked the site and it had come up.... two hours later... my tourney had started an hour later and there I was short-stacked! Well, to make a long story short I won the thing. Next morning, there is an email with an apology and a credit of 50 chips in my account. I wrote back and said... lookit, it's okay, I got back later, it was up, and I won the thing..." and they came back at me: "No,no. Keep the chips, and thanks!"

Compare that to something like ... well, your own experiences dealing with poker sites.

Caution points:

*) The software seems to get gummy and crash in firefox, but works fine in chrome and opera.

*) Like any gambling operation, there are hucksters waiting to hustle you..... (though in fact, most of the guys are okay to even classy .... there are the usual temper tantrums at times).

*) Getting Bitcoin can be a hassle ... I DON'T recommend that anyone buy it at this time .... it is too uppy and downy ... but again you can win your way up from freerolls without too much grief. The owner, Micon, has a thread at the above noted forum where he offers 50 free chips (1 chip = 1 mBTC , 1/1000 of a bitcoin, or ten cents today, which is then a free five bucks) to try out the site. You can find the thread there... I would post a link but don't want it to look like I am spamming. ( I have no contract with the operation, will not directly benefit from this post other than maybe having more players to play against, etc)

*) The site, being an in-browser java type software, has a simple-ish unsophisticated feel to it, and some people find that not to their taste. This is not a problem for me though.... easy money can't be perfect. Everything else about it... the instant deposits and withdrawls , the play anywhere in browser feature (I believe they have an app or phone thing for it... but I just don't deal with that stuff so not sure) ...it's just too convenient compared to other cash type poker operations that I have had experience with.

Glad to see them suggested and supported here!

Oh, and there is a fellow on there willing to convert cash to bitcoin and bitcoin to cash... so that if you want to fund your 5dimes account, he will help you do that... you can find him also on the bitcointalk.org forum site. So the various operations support each other after a fashion.

Okay, nice to see a plant, shill newbie from sealswithclubs finally found CM; took you awhile.

Let me be clear. While seals is certainly the biggest bitcoin poker site, they are only that because it is not legal in the US, and the funds could be suspended and the principals arrested at any time. My site refused to break American law, even though we opened a year earlier and had every opportunity to do whatever we wanted. Seals is still running their servers FROM the United States and are in obvious violation of both US federal and state law. But worse, the casino owners don't care. There's no oversight there. They don't care at all about cheating, collusion or anything else. Many if not most players are bots and/or colluding, making it disastrous for new players.

If you think reviving a dead thread in here with two posts under your belt, to not-so-subtly write a huge ad for your boss's site, is a wise idea -- let me tell you -- I have never once, in 4+ years on this board, mentioned my website's name or address publicly [it's known what it is because I'm the official rep, and it's a curiosity to the few people around here who read my posts, but I have never written it or advertised it in a thread]. So you're makin' a bit of a mistake.

Wow.

No. I don't 'work' for Seals. I am enthusiastic about the site and Biitcoin in general (Regardless of the current valuation gefuffle).

Bitcoin is not (yet at least) an official currency... the US treasury has put forth guidelines in dealing with it that arepretty explicit (See this week's New Yorker magazine for links).

You sure are a wet blanket. Should we only talk about operations that we are discontent with? Even if that is so, isn't it better to have something nice to say about something FIRST? MOST mainstream poker sites ... well, I have been ripped off by a couple (Absolute and Full Tilt, in the 2K8 US Ried Kyle fallout) and may god damn them and their operators. But I really didn't come here complain about what has become ancient history. I came here to share information... both to get and to give.

I had planned to share info about three other betting operations, wait, four, one at a time... it now sounds like I should not do this? They are bitbet (so many angles!), Bets of Bitcoin (similar but different to/from the previous), a brand new almost ready to go Litecoin poker site (they have an opening freeroll tomorrow night), and something else totally different... and MMO style game that involves Bitcoin gaming with all sorts of weird never before seen games, Dragon's Tale. None of my opinions are uniformly flattering... every site has its good and bad points. All work with bitcoin, which I think is a pretty cool idea... but then again I am not... what's the word, ...maybe 'messianic' about it either. TVG is the only American cash online product I use.... that site has been clumsier than I like and so haven't used it very much (I want to see live video of horses... not advertising and dippy breeding-class white guys trying to sound like they know something). RW poker is in most instance too scummy. Lotteries... fuh GEDDA boud it.

Maybe I should do a post about how I have observed that regular gambling can lead to a very particular form of sour attitude ... seen it in both myself and others, and it is sufficiently unique such that it almost rates its own place in the DSM-6.

Lemme know.

...errrrrrrmmmmm

What IS 'your' site, by the way?

If it is good, you should promote it... there's nothing wrong with that if you are on the up and up about it, after all. I'm in the states, so probably can't use it (though 5dimes is available here .... why would that be...?)

"Bots" and so on

Actually, I WOULD like to hear more about the 'bots' that supposedly inhabit some games, as referred to above. It is not the first time I have heard reference to this, but I know next to zero about it. I ASSUME that a bot is some sort of automated program that functions as an individual (here, in a game), but that assumption is the extent of my knowledge here.

?How do you tell when a player is a bot? It can't be by gonzo play ... nothing could be weirder than what I see humans doing at the tables. And far more often than not, when I make a droll observation about some wild crazy move that ends up paying off on the river, I get an appropriate response: "stfu".... generally followed by unflattering, and discomfittingly accurate, remarks about some play of mine. So... How do you tell?

TIA

LiteCoin Poker

I am a cautious enthusiast when it comes to cryptocurrencies, and so I would like to help a poker operation, that is just getting started with Litecoin, buy directing a little attention their way. I have never put together a website, but I HAVE assembled real-world businesses, and I know how complex that can be, with the 10 thousand little but important things that have be taken care of. A heads up: there are lots of things that need fixing yet.

WSOLTC.me (World Series Of LTC) have scheduled an opening freeroll this evening (Friday April 12th), joining and playing the freerolls are free, except for the cost of your time. They have been up and running in experimental mode about a week or so now, and I have already played several freerolls there. The first was attended by something more than a dozen peeps, nearly all from Seals, apparently as I saw many of the same handles. The software appeared to be the same package as that Seals uses, but, for reasons that are unclear to me, on that occasion it functioned much more smoothly than it does at Seals, and it works fine in firefox (Seals doesn't, for me). Apparently, only the very best players from Seals came over that night: It was an intense grind for a freeroll, the prize for which total I think was less than even 1 LTC (...um... then, about three bucks American, as I write today, about a buck :) ) But we were playing like we play at the higher priced tournies over at Seals. It was an immensely fun contest (only partly because I won first) and some of the most satisfying poker I have played in a long time.

Since then, they have been working on upgrading this and upgrading that, all the while watching the turbulence in the crypto markets, and generally they have been offering a 50 chip freeroll every hour 24/7. During some of the intervening week, the software has become rather rough ... I am reminded of trying to get broke in a rough a buck-prone 3 year old horse: Freeze. Lurch. Blast off and go like crazy. Sudden stop. Players there this morning though tell me that it is running fine again. They all appear to be real people, by the way, nearly everyone enters chat that passes my Turing test at least.

As yet there are very few players, and so winning some Litecoin (which is not easy to come buy unless you buy it with bitcoin, or mine it yourself) is like shooting fish in a barrel. And a variety of fish-type players have arrived from Seals, so the pickins are sure to be easy.

I should say, I am NOT affiliated with the operation and have no clue about the people that operate it, and, as with Seals above, I am not compensated in any way for writing here about them. At bottom, what drives me is a certain empathy for these enterpreneurs, and the radical, libertarian-anarchist nature of cryptocurrencies themselves.

Stop in, try it out, write up your own review here if you like. My handle there is LTCrider, say hi if you see me.

You are no risk at all... you couldn't buy a LTC with any form of real world cash, at the moment, if you tried, as far as I know, but it is already there for the easy having.

It's the opposite actually. A bot is likely to play very solidly and not do anything crazy and out of line. Not particularly dangerous players at all, and would almost certainly be exploitable - however the aim here is usually to just have a solid player in the game for long periods losing a small amount and "earning" large volumes of rakeback.

They generally inhabit the low level games, although have started appearing higher as the owners get more confident in their ability and stability. However optimum rake generating levels are not very high anyway so I doubt they'd bother running them above $1/$2.

If anyone is into bitcoins i suggest a new site called "pocketrocketscasino.com"

For the people who wanna play poker with bitcoins,

1. Sealswithclubs , but the free rolls are getting more people...

I suggest trying Outdated URL (Invalid), not so many people playing on the freerolls and really good and stable ring games, really fun
