My online slots videos (plus UK AWPs)

This is the last video I made for the previous incarnation of my channel in 2014, but I closed the channel down before uploading it.

As such, whilst this is technically an 'old video', it is the first time it's ever been publicly uploaded so is sort of a 'new video'.

From back in the days when a modest amount of low-rolling could earn £15 in the Videoslots weekly Casino Race!

FEATURED CASINOS - Sky Vegas, Videoslots, 3Dice

FEATURED GAMES:

Rainbow Riches
Zeus III
Bruce Lee
Ninja Fruits
Enchanted Spins
Super Jackpot Party

After watching your video Chopley, one thing strikes me in that if google find something copyrighted in there , you will have no adverts apart from the ones that google/ YouTube have to make money themselves....

This to me is disgusting and I don’t agree in any way how the modern copyright distribution system works.

As a background to this statement, in the 90’s to mid 00’s I was a professional music producer and have seen and been at the receiving end of every excuse for something you have worked hard for being worth nothing ...

I still get statements from the PRS in the uk , and a play on YouTube or Spotify is generally worth 0.0004 pence per play , so to make cash you need to stream millions.

So for them to only put their own advertising on demonetised streama absolutely makes my blood boil .

Fucking parasites disguised as big corporations.

Sorry for a bit of a rant , but hate how content is controlled by a mega corporation , at least in the old days there was a few companies in the arena.

Anyhow ,back on topic , there was something magic in the old machines , it was their simplicity that made them special.

Which has been lacking in modern design.

Less is definitely more.

But also it is very hard to design something simple.

When you boil it down tho isnt it still not a million miles away from a traditional game ?

As the walking wild and locked up are part of base game.

Base ( 23 + 24 + 26.1 ) = 73.1%
Free spins 23.1%

The Walking Wilds you could count as part of the base game, but Locked Up I'd definitely split out as a feature, which puts you at a 50/50 split between feature and base game in the RTP.

Interesting video Chops. I'm not sure I like the "bust potential" vs "winning big" ratio on that one...it appears to be in line with the old NetEnt variance.

I think if you match stake to bankroll it's OK TBH, you just need to be prepared for its lumpiness.

You won't fix it - it will be going back. There is a hardware issue, an uninsulated or badly joined micro wire inside probably on a circuit board. This explains the speaker cutting out and the pick up of electrical resonance. Get rid, you can get the equal or better spec from constructor site. My sympathies, it would pee me off immensely knowing what you went through to set the bastard up. No laptop gives decent microphone quality anyway, I have a Razer Seiren (courtesy of Play'n Go who sent it me from Sweden when hearing the terrible audio when reviewing slots a few years ago). It's a superb piece of kit, ideal for gaming and commentary when stereo-mixed into Bandicam and is has various level controls built in. You'll not need another mic ever again. I reckon you could buy one and get the same spec machine from a specialist gaming laptop maker for your existing spend of 1999.99.

Yes if nothing else this should finally motivate me to get a proper desk standing mic and do away with headsets completely. That Razer Seiren looks like a nice bit of kit and not too expensive :)

Cheers for the tip!

Surprised by ASUS, normally their stuff is very good. I bet it was lucky Mrs Degsy didn't have a swear tin in operation when this was
all going on :)

Chop can you do a follow up vid/post on how you get on sorting it out ?

Yes I'll do follow on update videos for it mack. Ebuyer have requested I call them about the RMA request and their tech desk isn't open over the weekends so I can't even get the wheels in motion until Monday......

I love doing a bit of tech shopping, comparing all the deals and researching the reviews and forums, but ever since I bought a sharp vcr from co-op with a constantly on fan like a hairdryer  any distracting noise has been a bug bear with me. 'Made in Germany' was proudly adorned on that vcr so I thought I was home and hosed, they forgot to say it was east

It is so disappointing to discover that there's something about your new purchase that is irritating and you just can't live with it...
I couldn't bear a loud laptop, I've only experience of a dell office laptop and that was near silent, so not sure how much noise to expect from a gaming laptop, mind you I'm still using a 2012 budget desktop and a basic nokia mobile so I am a little bit behind the current tech gear...

DECISIVE ACTION has been taken.

Yes, and the illuminated logo (which you can switch off) on the back of the mic is remarkably like the IOM 3 legs flag.

Using the word "terrible" is an understatement here dunover. Man that was bad, I remember some of your early videos I had no idea what you were trying to say because your laptop fan was louder than your comments

@ChopleyIOM Even if you're doing those videos as a hobby, I really appreciate that you take the time to make a quality product.

Just a starting point for the Razer Seiren, I found for slotting the best Bandicam setting is this , assuming mic set at mid-level itself. Never had a sound complaint since doing it this way.

Cheers dunover that came in handy, especially the 'Stereo Mix' device as I'd disabled that on my laptop and PC! (I spent a while scratching my head as the game audio was recorded at 100% irrespective of what I did before enabling and then switching to Stereo Mix.)

This is the first video recorded with the new mic, it's still not perfect as I realised afterwards I should have had the high-pass filter enabled on the mic, and I still need to finesse the physical positioning a bit as well too, but overall the results are good. It's a really nice bit of kit, I know £200 isn't cheap but it feels like it's worth it.

Laptop and mic update. Please contain your excitement.

The sound is 100% better - you don't sound like you've been inhaling helium any more, it has some bass and proper vocal range. I could be wrong and coincidentally when you got the mic you bought some looser trousers too, but whichever the voice is far more defined.

Comin' at ya' like a 1981 hurricane.

Seriously, that was one of the best machines around at the time. You pretty much had Bell Fruit and JPM at the time, and JPM were streets ahead of BF stuff. The gamble was brilliant too. I can't remember which machine it was, but one had massive round plastic buttons, and it was so easy to get it to the top, win the first gamble, keep the button held in, and keep tapping it with your other hand while very slowly releasing it, you could win loads. They actually brought a mod out to change the buttons on the cabs to the ones in the video that stopped you from doing it. The coin mechs on some of the early JPM's were poor too and you could click credits by using an electronic lighter, although that mainly affected games like space invaders MkII, Galaxian, Moon Cresta etc than slots.
I still play some early JPM stuff, like Lite A Nudge, EW Nudger at a local arcade sometimes and can still remember the reels both on these and the early Bell Fruit ones!

Edit the big buttons were EW Nudger

That guy has some good machines!

Last night's BIG REAL MONEY online slots session.

Real money play with a £150 deposit at Videoslots, on the following games:

FRUITS (No Limit City)
BONANZA (BTG)
TAXI MOVIDA (Booming Games)
TOMBSTONE (No Limit City)

I'm still quite pleased with this one, truth be told.

First time around I wasn't even trying to beat it as such, it was only when I came close on the first attempt and realised the potential of the slot 'Hole in Won, The Back Nine' that I formulated the plan to have a proper crack at it.

Nice work. Do you recall if they did pull that promotion soon after you cashed out?

That's covered in the video :) Direct timestamped link:

It was not really that surprising given that they knew you had posted your exploits for all to follow in this forum. I did watch this vid but I closed it down before it got to the above summery. I'm loving your incites :)

Another classic old UK AWP has been given the DX layout treatment.

I'm planning an online slots session over the weekend, if I can build myself up to setting fire to a couple of hundred quid.....

One of my all time favourites, Big Bucks by JPM.

I used to love that fruity also. Could get the JP from the red lines on a few of the features and the good old 'cancel' button tricks.

JPM made some great machines with streaks around that period, Big Banker had a great token run, IIRC this was out and about just before the Rollercoaster era :what:

This is bringing back loads of memories. I used to own quite a few AWP's when I was a teenager - don't know how my parents put up with it as they were all lined up in the hallway! The ones I remember owning were Monopoly (Maygay), Make a Million, Popeye (JPM), EW Nudger, Indiana jones (JPM) and another I think was called High Spirits. I also had a broken Eastenders that I never got working.

Did anyone here used to be part of the MFME community and Fruit Forums back in the early 2000's?

Yes I was around from day one, I set up the original MSN Fruit Machine Emulation Community, and my website was the Web Hovel :) Were you around back then? What name did you go by? :D

Whilst we're on the subject, few ROM's I have never come across and wondered whether they were ever done?

Cash Force (BFM £4.80 token JP)
Up N 'Over (Barcrest £15 JP - pre chip version)
Lotta Luck (Barcrest £15 JP)
Blue Moon (Barcrest £4.80JP)
Sunset Boulevard (not the 'seaside' conversion, the original £4.80 version)
Hi - Rise (I think) (Barcrest £4.80, one with 2 x Hi-Lo reels)

There was another couple also, I think they only ever made it to late testing stages and were never widely released, both by Maygay in the early 2,000's one was called Codename in their visions cabinet and the other was very similar to Screenplay but with much more features, almost like a "Screenplay II" but cannot recall the exact name, defo token machines to both and possibly two of the earlier £6 token releases????

Cheers!

Yes, used to read the hovel every day back then! So you're Alex Maroney, I had no idea... Funnily enough, you changed my username at fruitforums to the one I'm using here now lol. You must have been a forum admin there at the time. You probably won't remember me though as I wasn't that active on the forums compared to some. Can't remember what my previous usernames were... I had a few.

All done apart from Cash Force which I've never heard of before, are you sure that was the name Jono? Was it a lo-tech or a hi-tech?

I don't think we've got the 'doable' ROMs for Up 'N Over where you could reverse the numbers, unfortunately, but a long lost ROM set will occasionally turn up!

I made a video about Blue Moon :)

Oooh Nice one matey!

Yes, defo called Cash Force, one of the first machines me and a good friend used to play when we first started out slotting.

BFM machine, bonus overlaid on reels along with numbers 1-6 was the trail, 7 onwards was the features.

Best I recall features in order were, Best win in view, reel match, Skill Challenge (this was true skill and we got very good at it!) Hi-Lo Cash, cashpot and Big Money (£2.40 repeater which could repeat like forever lol)

Treasure Chests were the Jackpot symbol and again as best I recall, the cabinet was a front opener. had the typical BFM symbols, orange, plum, green melon and golden bell along with the "Big Money" logo as the top paying cash symbol.

This would have been as far back as 1991/92.

Blimey yes you're right! Apparently a very rare machine according to this chap.....

Doesn't seem to be emulated as far as I can tell, likely the ROMs have never turned up for it. There are a few very similar machines emulated though, such as Cash Attraction.
