My 50p experiment

Hi all!

Having had a naff start to online casinos in the past couple of weeks. I've managed to use some of the remaining 72.18 balance to start a 50p Blackjack experiment. Having bet 2 and tried my luck for 5 minutes using the system below I was fortunate enough to get this balance up to about 5-6.

The original 72.18 might get deducted by the casino once it actions my withdrawal request from my introduction bonus (silly t&c's). I'm not adding any further money now to my account, until the middle of November due to what I talked about in my intro thread.

The system kind of uses the Martindale technique. Something which I've used in the past and can gain cash fast, but obviously kills cash fast as well. Only a little, I have toned this down a slight notch.

Obviously with the Martindale technique there is a point where one could lose everything quickly. So I will do the following bet pattern and if the continued bad prevails, I jump ship (at least for a few hours, but probably for the day).

Bet Pattern
Bet #1 = 50p
Bet #2 = 50p
Bet #3 = 1
Bet #4 = 1.50
Bet #5 = 3.00
Bet #6 = jump ship!

Having been used to applying the Martindale technique and managing to get 100 in the space of 15-25 minutes in the past and then losing it in 5 minutes, I've decided this might be a safer bet. Although being my first time at betting just 50p a bet, it kind of feels like it takes forever to get anywhere.

Since I started this within the past hour (didn't track the start time, but I'd say maybe 30 minutes ago), my balance has now reached 100.78.

With the idea that my 72.18 will be deducted (I'm banging my head against a brick wall over this. Hurry up casino!!!), I will start this 'experiment' from now, stating the following:

Starting Balance = 5
Current Balance = 28.60

I can only hope this lasts at least a week :puke: (nerves)

Has anyone else done this kind of thing before? Low bets using Martindale?

Edit: Well, having finished this post I went back in and got up to about 37.00. Only to then begin to drop again, so I'm guessing the computer wanted to give me a losing streak. I'm finished for today.

Current Balance = 30.10

You've got me intrigued about that bonus - what casino it this?
Obviously not MG or RTG as I don't think they have 50p Blackjack...
Please let us know and someone here might be able to give you some advice about your withdrawal.

Welcome to the forum!

Hi KK,

The casino I use is William Hill (UK). According to information I found in a link from this site William Hill are said to use Microgaming. Not sure if this is the case, as I play on their 'instant play' software. By this I mean the software you don't need to download. Instead of Mircogaming the screen shows what appears to be a Playtech badge.

The casino bonus I refer to was one in which I never read the T&C's for. Silly I know. After a day or two of wagering I decided to contact the customer service team to see if I had met the bonus requirements. I have a feeling William Hill use independent global contractors for c/s team, as the woman I spoke to was from Asia (she told me).

Having then read the T&C's I found out the 30 intro bonus was simply for gambling only. These T&C's of the offer were copied from their website...

Hi KK,

The casino I use is William Hill (UK). According to information I found in a link from this site William Hill are said to use Microgaming.

Having then read the T&C's I found out the 30 intro bonus was simply for gambling only. These T&C's of the offer were copied from their website...
I'm just quoting your 2 bits of mis-information above;
William Hills has NEVER been a Microgaming casino - and I would be interested to hear where you read that!
They used to use Cryptologic software (since 2001 at least) and only switched to Playtech in January this year. (The Crypto casino is still open as well, until December I believe)

The 30 free-chip is not "for gambling only" - you can win up to 200, and cash it out, as stated in clause 6.
But I believe it is a phantom bonus (removed on cash-out) so you'd need to get your bank up to 230 in order to cash-out the maximum.

One good lesson I hope you have learned here is always, but ALWAYS read all the T&Cs regarding ANY bonus you take at ANY casino. I know from bitter experience that it is all to easy to get caught out by something unexpected.

In fact, I did just that myself with Will Hills when I signed-up at the Playtech version in May this year: I would swear blind that when I took the 150% bonus it was fully cashable. But when I came to cash-out they said it was phantom. Unfortunately I didn't take a screenshot of the T&C's when I joined, so I couldn't prove it.
I'm waiting for the archive page to be loaded so I can go look to see if I was dreaming or not.

As a by-the-way, I did actually complete the 5,000 WR and cash-out 253 (after the phantom 150 was removed) from my 100 deposit playing slots only... so it can be done!

Hiya: Your betting method is ok because you are keeping your losses low. I am of the mind set that, "If i lose, how many bets do i have to win to get my losses back". The fewer, the better.

In FREE mode, you may want to try this adjustment.

$3 bet. win, and drop to $1 bet. Lose, and up to $5 bet.
This comes out to the following.
win win = +$4
Win Lose = +$2
Lose Win = +$2
lose lose = -$8

You can adjust according to your bankroll.

KK - Thanks for your reply. With regards to William Hill using the software of Mircogaming. I read on one of the links to an extrenal site that it mentioned this. I will try and find it and come back to you if I can remember where I got this idea from. By the sounds of it I probably mis-read it as you seem certain on what you say. If I did mis-read it, then clearly I apologise for my mistake.

Yeah, I pretty much learnt from the experience regarding bonuses. Maybe some still like to play them, but this kind of put me off the idea of ever entertaining another one.

I remember when I play a few sessions on Betfair a couple of weeks ago when I spent and lost all 600, during the betting of my initial 100 I got this up to 800 in value. During the time of play I had forgotten that I was playing in a bonus situation. At about the 300 stage the screen displayed a message saying that I was now entitled to keep the 30 Betfair bonus. I was pleased as punch with that. Why-oh-why did I not just settle for 300 (roughly)? Greed mostly, but also the brain being unable to connect with the rest of my body and scream "ABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORT SESSION!!!!!", thus disabling my arms and hands from continuing their repetitive actions.

On the plus side, William Hill have not deducted the 72.18 I was keep aside, incase it was like earnt through the bonus session. Two of my three cash withdrawals have been 'approved'. I am not waiting for the third to go through.

On this 50p experiment I didn't expect to get over 50 in a few days. Of course it is down to luck and it could easily go the other way. Part of me wants to stop while I am ahead, especially now I have the 72.18 officially mine and not taken as part of the bonus play. I'm now in profit for the month, so I might hold fire for a while.

I have also started the proces of getting woodchip wallpaper of my walls in one room. Pain in the arse stuff, but makes a wallpaper stripper seem like a god-send. I've done quite a bit so may come back to this between now and November. I forgot my book-keeping course starts in November, so I might do 5 bets a night or something.

I never did plan this 50p experiment through properly. It has made me realise that you don't need to put in 100 a time to do so well. I might stick with the idea of smaller bets.

love2winalot - Thanks for the idea. I will give a whirl in free mode tonight. If you lose twice do you simply revert to a $3 bet? Sorry just trying to get an idea :)

Random have you checked out the Wizardofodds website? It is packed with amazing information about gambling.

If you go there you will see how the Martingale system can never work. Also progressive betting will have results exactly equal to flat betting over the long run.

If you want to have fun gambling and maybe earn a little I suggest you hit the 'bonus trail'.

Welcome aboard anyway :)

diamondgeezer - thanks for the tip. I'll be honest I think in future I'll give up Martindale. Yes, you can do well when the losing patterns are only a few in a row, but can be dangerous gameplay once you get involved in the big amounts. Will take a look ;)
