They scared my 8 year old daughter to death by talking about it at school yesterday.
I’m a little cross at school really because I had tackled it a day earlier with my DD in a much simpler ‘let’s not make the www look scary’ kind of way.
“If you were playing out and an older child/adult told you to go and try to run across the big motorway would you do it? Even if they threatened to ‘get you’?”
Obviously she said “no”.
“What if a YouTuber or a friend in chat on x, or y told you to go and jump off a bridge or they would hunt you down?”
Same answer.
Time to teach children the power and wonder of the internet whilst equipping then to deal with the pronlems that they may encounter rather than promoting unnecessary fear.

Perhaps the rage is inspired by the countless stories/movies about creepy clowns, one of the latest being the 4th season of Channel Zero about an evil contortionist clown. I enjoy horror, but it needs to stay on the (silver) screen.

. Looks more like something off the “Evil Dead” to me. Talking of that kind of look reminds me of one of the best ever from my Dad (there are many to choose from). My friends and I are watching “Top of the Pops” back in the early 80’s. The band on at the moment he walked through the door were just finishing the song “Love cats”. He looks at the screen and says “if that’s THE CURE I am f*****g glad I haven’t got the disease.
