Mega Moolah - £18M+ Progressive

You don't remember the Ivor Biggun LP do you (the guy who was 'Doc Cox' in That's Life back in the 1980's) with his infamous 'I'm A Winker (misspelt) chart hit? He had a track called 'Toolbag Ted The Randy Handyman from Birkenhead' lol....:D

I remember the Winker's Song of course - my walk-on theme music when I play darts...

But I'd forgotten about Toolbag Ted - how could I? Number 1 in the UK charts for 13 weeks in 1979 - even more annoying than Brian Adam's (Everything I do) I screw it for you...

It was won at a Casino Reward brand and it was won in EUR, so surprisingly not from the UK and maybe, just maybe not Scandinavian. But, unsurprisingly, he/she won it on his/her mobile (sitting on the bog right? ) :D ..... i'll shall move my desk to the toilet soon.

Exact amount is: €18,910,668.01 on 28th September 2018.

EDIT: mac72 was faster :) ...couldn't remember the exact name of the casino.

Jeeze, my spoof Casino Rewards Facebook post was actually prophetic then!
Please don't tell me it was a woman whose dog got run over....

Was won on mobile. I knew I needed to play on my phone.
Grand mondial as mentioned above.

This!

I was actually going to look at playing on my phone and I know nobody is going to believe me and think I am nuts but about 2 weeks ago I called it and it was going to be a casino rewards casino and I said Grand Mondial! and was actually thinking of signing up there but never did!:(

Well, rumor has it that the winner had signed up with GM via an aff link that gave him/her 150 FS on Mega Moolah for a deposit of EUR10. Not on the FS but on the same session. That was actually the story of the last winner, if it repeats itself on this occasion then it all sound a little fishy. What are the odds for the jackpot to be hit at the same casino group using the FS from the same offer?

The winner can't be from Sweden or Norway, only Finland is possible from Scandinavia since they use EUR.

Totalt agree with you sounds abit fishy that all winners win under same coincidence or at least near same

just to add to the fishiness, you know CR and MG being both on the Isle of Man, have a look how many of the last 8 big winners came from CR. 6 out of 8 in total and 4 out of 8 at Grand Mondial....hmmm :what:

tbg honest, im not surprised so many at GM.
While WE savvy players know where to play, GM (and their ilk) are (in)famous for flooding FB and spamming their casino(s), so I'm sure theyve a rather large player base, especially those pounding the progressives

Not really one for tin foil hat stuff, but out of all the casinos worldwide offering the games, 4 from the last 8 being the same one? Whats the odds of that happening?

well, pretty good probably if theyve a huge base and are specifically targeting jackpot chasers - ive seen many of the ads, shady as fuck and misleading, generally on about the jackpot and how you could win it with from the handful of sign up free spins

I think sometimes people forget CM members are not generally indiciative of the larger player base out there

Sure Dio, but there are thousands of other casinos offering the Mega Moolah slots, that should come to at least the equal amount in players to what the CR group has in total. Hence, hardly seeing anyone outside the MG only casinos like CR, FortuneLounge etc is rather fishy IMO.

It is akin saying the next 8 winners for a Canada wide lottery are all coming from Toronto because everyone is buying a ticket, and neglecting the other millions of Canadians who buy a ticket......Possible, but very remote chance only.

lol, youd be surpised how many country wide winners come out of Quebec :)
But again, sure, we also know and understand RTP and how much is tied up in the jackpot - look how shitty the base game pays in Mega Moolah - we'll give it a few spins and often bypass the game altogether, playing smartly.
A lot of CR casinos target non savvy, regular folk, luring them in with promises of BIG jackpots (note: im referring to shady as ef affilaites)
I see CR (GM in particualr) ads 1000 to 1 of other casino promotions online and they arent even casinos I touch and still unfailingly hit my feed and in ads on non gambling sites

Not surprised it was a CR casino where the progressive was won. Many affiliates were told to push the £1 / £5 sign-up bonus over recent weeks. If you were going to win the €18m, I cannot think of a better place to win. Apart from the trip to Australia to collect your money / presentation, you'll be well looked after by Casino Rewards.

Some affiliate managers have offered €10,000 cash if you managed to sign-up a player who won the jackpot.

I agree personally - but what sort of fishy business could there be? Microgaming has ultimate control of the slot/jackpot right, not the CR group or any casino in it?

Won't promote them due their unethical marketing, never have even before they were removed from the accredited list.
And having learned they actively target pending withdrawal players with reversal bonuses, the greed of this lot has confirmed I made the right choice.

Same here, I signed up with them years ago as a player, they tempted me to reverse a big win I had with them before I knew better, then months later sent a deposit offer, can't remember if it was 100/200% or something, I deposited and didn't get it, live chat told me I was bonus banned and had to make another 10 deposits before they would honour it. Wouldn't play at any of them now if they offered no deposit bonuses and will never promote them.

As predatory of a practice as that may be, I personally wouldn't mind it (could always just say "no") . I prefer to play with a bonus anyway like 80% of the time, so the cycle of deposit/cashout/redeposit sometime later feels a bit silly sometimes. Actually thought about asking if a reversal bonus was possible at a casino with a jackpot i wanted to play (much, much smaller and more achievable than the mega moolah), but didn't think they would grant it (maybe I was wrong, don't know.)

But I understand how that could be used to take advantage of problem gamblers.

Is there wagering if you win the jackpot from free spins ? Just asking as I happened to look on their t+c’s and it’s not at all clear that you can take the money and run?

They don't use free spins usually. They just credit their value as points that you can redeem for bonus money. Usual WR and max bet apply, but for a jackpot winner it is just autoplay till you get back from the toilet :p

UK players have a lot better terms than others. Others have that max cashout 4,000 per week term, but it is not for jackpots. Maybe those have not been updated yet, the ones for UK are very new.

I agree with this. Don't like their attitude at all. Also, always busy with shady SEO things.

I've always been lead to believe that you can't win a jackpot from free spins, since they don't contribute anything to the progressive pot.
It was confirmed by a few reps on here in the past, regarding NetEnt progressives. So I'd assume it's the same for MGS

What I said, they give bonus to play, not free spins.

As with all wins on Microgaming’s progressive jackpot network, the winner will receive the prize as a lump sum and not in annuities.

"This is the moment we were hoping would come! And for the player to win the jackpot from a 75 cents bet in less than 50 spins is just incredible. For Grand Mondial Casino to land this gigantic jackpot, and be part of Casino Rewards Group, which has had so many Mega Moolah winners in the past, we just couldn't be prouder and more pleased. Casino Rewards has seen five huge Mega Moolah winners in the past 12 months and now our sixth winner has absolutely smashed all records yet!

Ever since they started offering jackpot games, Microgaming has paid the mega progressive wins directly to the player. The casino does not handle the transaction.

This isn’t the case Harry. Microgaming have no access to players financial details, the funds are transferred after relevant checks and the operator pays it.

I bet whoever hit today’s jackpot is feeling rather pleased!
