It was won at a Casino Reward brand and it was won in EUR, so surprisingly not from the UK and maybe, just maybe not Scandinavian. But, unsurprisingly, he/she won it on his/her mobile (sitting on the bog right?

Well, rumor has it that the winner had signed up with GM via an aff link that gave him/her 150 FS on Mega Moolah for a deposit of EUR10. Not on the FS but on the same session. That was actually the story of the last winner, if it repeats itself on this occasion then it all sound a little fishy. What are the odds for the jackpot to be hit at the same casino group using the FS from the same offer?

Sure Dio, but there are thousands of other casinos offering the Mega Moolah slots, that should come to at least the equal amount in players to what the CR group has in total. Hence, hardly seeing anyone outside the MG only casinos like CR, FortuneLounge etc is rather fishy IMO.
It is akin saying the next 8 winners for a Canada wide lottery are all coming from Toronto because everyone is buying a ticket, and neglecting the other millions of Canadians who buy a ticket......Possible, but very remote chance only.

A lot of CR casinos target non savvy, regular folk, luring them in with promises of BIG jackpots (note: im referring to shady as ef affilaites)
I see CR (GM in particualr) ads 1000 to 1 of other casino promotions online and they arent even casinos I touch and still unfailingly hit my feed and in ads on non gambling sites

Won't promote them due their unethical marketing, never have even before they were removed from the accredited list.

Same here, I signed up with them years ago as a player, they tempted me to reverse a big win I had with them before I knew better, then months later sent a deposit offer, can't remember if it was 100/200% or something, I deposited and didn't get it, live chat told me I was bonus banned and had to make another 10 deposits before they would honour it. Wouldn't play at any of them now if they offered no deposit bonuses and will never promote them.

As predatory of a practice as that may be, I personally wouldn't mind it (could always just say "no") . I prefer to play with a bonus anyway like 80% of the time, so the cycle of deposit/cashout/redeposit sometime later feels a bit silly sometimes. Actually thought about asking if a reversal bonus was possible at a casino with a jackpot i wanted to play (much, much smaller and more achievable than the mega moolah), but didn't think they would grant it (maybe I was wrong, don't know.)
But I understand how that could be used to take advantage of problem gamblers.

Withdrawal limits don't usually apply to progressives, unless it's a Playtech brand. Most of those implement a cashout limit on Progressive wins.

Ever since they started offering jackpot games, Microgaming has paid the mega progressive wins directly to the player. The casino does not handle the transaction.
Al CM accredited casinos say in their terms that such limit doesn't apply in progressive jackpots.

This isn’t the case Harry. Microgaming have no access to players financial details, the funds are transferred after relevant checks and the operator pays it.
