Microgaming’s Mega Moolah progressive jackpot slot was hit for Euro 6,078,249.33 earlier this week by a mobile Captain Cooks Casino customer.

Identified as N.C., the player was a novice who signed up to the online casino on a new customer bonus offering 100 chances to become a millionaire for Euro 5.

Incredibly the punter became the seventh member of the Casino Rewards Millionaires Club on a 50 cent bet, Casino Rewards promotions manager, Emma Hall, revealed.

This takes 'beginner's luck' to a whole new level.

Did this person work in their local McDonald's and have five children to support? Perhaps they just stumbled upon the site and now they can get their gran that hip replacement?

Funny how these stories happen to the unlikeliest people. I suppose the next winner will win a major jackpot playing at reduced lines by accident because they thought they were loading up Candy Crush

Exactly, a new customer bonus offering 100 chances to become a millionaire. Remind me, how many times did that (supposedly) happen, not just once huh ? and how many billion spins are made without this offer.

Its like the third or fourth time they have said this now, I did hit the bonus wheel on their site not long before it went off the other day, at about £6 a spin, yet some "supposed" freebie hunting low stakes casual gets the win.

Another big win - this one in Finland

EURO 3.5 MILLION JACKPOT HIT AT PAF ONLINE CASINO

Paf player pockets NetEnt’s first multi-million-euro jackpot of 2017.

A Paf online casino player has had a great start to 2017 by hitting the Mega Fortune Dreams jackpot for Euro 3.5 million.

In a statement Friday NetEnt advised that the lucky player is a 62-year-old woman from central Finland who won the seven-figure sum from a Euro 1 stake.

The winner's dream became a reality moments after midnight; the successful spin was placed at 00:13 on Wednesday, January 18, and thereafter the astonished punter understandably had difficulty relaxing.

“I can tell you that we haven't slept a wink last night,” she told casino management. “I've spent the night with my husband talking and going over this ‒ it's just unbelievable. And the funny thing is, I've always had such bad luck in this game before!

“Now we are going to take it slow and go on a small vacation that was planned ages ago. But we'll certainly find plenty of uses for this money,” she said.

    That is exactly my thoughts..
Even on much higher bets it is super hard to trigger the wheel..
Had the wheel a few times but never got more than the midi (€101.00 I think it was) but mostly it is the lowest one for merely €10.00..

    Quarters it is!

Personally I take all these too good to be true stories with a big pinch of salt.

We all know why it is and thats to milk it,

If they had said a season online gambler for 15 years betting £20 a go and they have nether won more than 1k in 15 years than no body wold play, especially the new players, If they read new player and betting 50 cents a go than any one thats not gambled b4 will think I give that a go

Its why this sort of thing should be looked into and any one making false claims should be punished, But they would only blame each other.

And here's another - this one from GVC's Bwin

Not much detail on the player or the stake on this one....

    BWIN CUSTOMER HITS LOOT’ENKHAMUN JACKPOT

    First stop: Buy a house.

A London-based construction worker’s year got off to a great start when he hit the Loot’enKhamun jackpot at bwin casino.

The GBP 3.8 million payout is one of bwin’s biggest jackpot hits to date.

“I am in complete shock at the moment,” the lucky punter said. “I haven’t really thought about what to do with the money but most definitely I will be buying a house.

“At first I couldn’t believe it was real. It is only now starting to sink in.”

I had more luck triggering the Mega Moolah wheel on £0.50 than on higher bets:

IF you can get the wheel, chances are you will it more than once in your session. Its streaky like that, play the game 20 games, no wheel, then in one session it appears 3 times. Never had more than the £100 ish one anyway. I did hit the marvel one that paid about £400 not long ago though, load of shite really, my balance was about 8 times that so its a joke to call it a jackpot.

Lol rarely play the slot but all the times ive hit the Jackpot wheel its always been on 25p bets.

Still remember many years ago when Mega Moolah first came out i was trying it at Ladbrokes and hit the wheel on 25p bet. Landed on minor Jackpot and was expecting about £100 and it paid something like £2400. Looking at it was like something wrong here but checked balance and sure enough it had paid about £2400.

Still my biggest ever win from a single spin. Sure something went wrong with slot just out but maybe it was correct payout. I will never know as no way was i querying the win lol. It was withdrawn on the spot:D

I have seen not just once the Mini at over £1,000 and the Midi at over £5,000 at times when the Mega Jackpot was high, mostly above the £10Mio mark, and you had probably 10,000's of punters hammering the slot at the same time. The two small jackpots sometimes go up so quickly that between triggering the wheel (and having a rather high Mini Jackpot) and stopping it you would have a few people before you winning it as well and you could end up with just the starting value of £10.

On top the MG jackpots have all GBP as base currency, hence when somebody in $ or AU$ or CAD wins one of them they don't drop to the starting value, they only drop what the conversion from those currencies to GBP is worth.
