Letter from bank

I use a debit card tied to a bank checking account to deposit to casinos. The other day I received a letter from my bank saying that starting Dec 1st they will no longer authorize debit card transactions for online gambling.

Does this mean they WILL till then?

Could be worth moving some money around and into Quicktender (money you don't need, of course) before this happens.

Looks like the bank have known all along, but were not going to spend money implementing this law until they had to.

This would STILL only apply where they could identify the transaction correctly.

There may well be an INCREASE in problems getting winnings BACK. If the banks knew, but turned a "blind eye", they may ALSO start identifying, and blocking, returning wire transfers and checks FROM casinos or the likes of Quicktender.

Ideally, a pre-paid card that can accept casino withdrawals, AND freely be used for your usual spending, is what is needed.

I didn't know that any US banks still did let you deposit to a casino .

I actually think it is a good idea for me personally, anyway.

Prepaid card (i.e Wired Plastic or Netspend) has saved me plenty of bank fees and those pesky atm fees, that sometimes if I am not watching what I spend I can esily overdraw (maybe I should cut back on gambling anyway ) Plus it will keep the banks at bay

uh oh !! I use my visa debit card that is tied to my checking acct. and have made many deposits at casinos and recieved wire transfers from casinos ! yikes ! I haven't heard anything from my bank though ! We shall see !

I opened a Net-spend account for deposits, a quick-tender account (use my wallet) for withdrawals, and a wired plastic account to send withdrawals from quick-tender to wired, as per requested by several US players. So far just depositing with Net-spend and no problems yet. Haven't had the chance to withdraw yet. (well that's not exactly true) Usually don't withdraw unless 1k or more. Looks like I'll try 500.00 first chance I get and let you know how it goes.

Also, based on what I read recently about wired plastic, I won't try over $2500.00 from quick-tender to wired.
