FIVE NEW GAME RELEASES FROM MICROGAMING

A day at the races; birthday bugs; axe throwing Vikings; frisky felines and a good old game of Holdem more from online games developer.

Racetrack action characterises the 5 reel, 25 pay-line new video slot SURE WIN, which heads up five new games on the monthly release list from Microgaming. Sure Win offers Wild, Scatter, Multiplier, Gamble and Free Spin action and the opportunity to win up to 35 000.00 in the base game, or 140 000.00 with good fortune and skilled choices on the Free Spins.

With outstanding graphics and sound effects, Sure Win gives a ride that players won't soon forget. The game's leader scoreboard is Wild, tripling wins on successful combinations, whilst the bookie with the hot tip provides Scatter opportunities across reels 3, 4 or 5, triggering the Free Spin feature. With its pick of 3 jockeys and associated range of spins and multipliers its a feature that will help players to stay the course and come in a winner.

Rounding off a day at the races is the Gamble feature, where punters can bet on colour and suit to double or quadruple winnings.

With as many pay-lines as a centipede has legs, Microgaming's next offering is the biggest video slot ever launched, with Wild, Scatter, Freespins, Multiplier and Gamble opportunities wrapped in a fun insect birthday party theme called CASHAPILLAR.

Microgaming bets that this massive 5 reel, 100 payline video slot will worm its way into players' hearts as it introduces the brand new 'stacked wilds' concept across all 5 reels. Here a maximum of 5 'Cashapillar' wilds can appear vertically stacked to create a win bonanza - and every time the wild substitutes to complete a win, that win is doubled!

The centerpiece of the friendly creepy crawly party is the birthday cake; get 3, 4 or 5 of these sweet symbols and 15 Free Spins are triggered where all wins are trebled, and when the Cashapillar appears there's a special 6x multiplier gift as a birthday present.

There's a wealth of ancient Viking axe-tion in the 5 reel, 25 pay-line video slot QUEST FOR BEER, which entices the player into a quest with party-loving, axe-wielding giants, rough seas, the famous longships and beer - lots and lots of beer. Stumbling into Lars the Lanternjaw's Great Hall gives the opportunity to axe open the barrels of prizes that lie within.

Colourful and humorous graphics provide the backdrop for comedy, adventure and of course beer, which inevitably leads to reward. The most important keys to these riches are the Beer Tankard, which acts as Wild and therefore substitutes for most other symbols to enable the player to create winning combinations and Free Spins, and the sexy Beer Wench, who acts as a Scatter and gives entry to the Axe Throwing bonus feature.

When the Beer Tankard appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 at the same time the 10 Free Spins Feature are triggered, with prizes doubled, re-triggers possible and even an additional chance at the Axe Throwing feature.

If three or more Scattered Beer Wenches appear the player is swept into the Great Hall where 5 beer kegs are the targets in the Axe Throwing feature. Throwing 3 axes at the 5 kegs rewards the player with beer and cash prizes. Successfully filling your tankard with beer can reveal potential riches of up to 40x the triggering bet if all kegs have beer, significantly adding value to the players' bottom line.

That bottom line can work out at a possible payment in the base game of 25 000.00, but with Free Spin action it can go as high as a cash haul of 50 000.00, and bonuses can add another 5000.00

Completing a rollicking good game is the Gamble feature, where wins can be doubled or quadrupled depending on the player's successful selection of colour and suit.

Some of the coolest cats in town populate ALLEY CATS, a new 5 reel, 9 payline video slot. The action is a backyard bowling alley used by a variety of frisky felines with their eyes set on trashcan victory feasts, but for the player there's a lot more temptation than catnip and fish heads; this is a magnificent slot where up to 50 000.00 can be won in the base game, double that in Free Spins and another 2700.00 on an amusing second screen bonus feature.

With vibrant, colorful graphics and crystal clear digital sound effects, Alley Cats provides hours of entertainment and good chances to win. The key to unlocking the winning opportunities in the game is the Strike! symbol which acts as a scatter and can additionally trigger a choice of Free Spins or bonuses for the player.

The Strike! logo can deliver up to 100x winnings and trigger 20 Free Spins in which all wins are doubled, or a second screen bonus that takes the player to the cats' favorite alley and 3 chances to bowl for prizes on six home-made 'skittles,' one of them an unfortunate captive Chihuahua!

MULTI HAND HOLD 'EM HIGH is the final game in this month's releases. This is a sophisticated, top-of-the-line game that defines new quality levels in terms of smooth, fast action and outstanding graphics and sound effects, all backed by a generous pay table and the ability to make telling side-bets.

The gambler can choose to play a single hand or up to a maximum of 5 hands, with the option of a side bet. With the right cards creating a Royal Flush there's a payback of 500 to 1 on the Ante and Call/Raise bet, with a possible maximum of 50:1 on the side bet.

That means that playing the seven card version, players can achieve wins of up to 75 000.00, with another 2 500.00 on side bets

With a chip range from 1.00 to 50.00, unlimited and mixed chip stacks can be used, automatically resizing to make up the current bet with the least number of chips.

This is the latest action packed offering in the Microgaming Gold series of table games and the designers have delivered entertaining action on a platform of precision animation, digital sound, pinpoint graphics and imaginative player views to provide an absorbing player experience.

I thought Rival's new Secret Garden game was a bit froo froo and girly... I was wildly mistaken. I didn't know nuttin' till I saw the new MG Rapunzel. ....gag....

Hubby was digging around in a desk drawer for an old pair of sunglasses. The glare was lighting up our computer room. :eek2:

Wrong thread... wrong game... wrong software... Just ignore me entirely...

RTG has Rapunzel and it will make your eyes bleed.

Anyone know how many symbols are on each reel for the slot 'Cashapillar'? It must be more than usual otherwise it would make hitting the free spins way too easy.

I'm guessing there is maybe 50 or 60 on each reel. If so, then the odds of hitting a screen full of wilds are enormous.

There is only one position for the wilds to cover all reels so on a 50 symbol per reel slot the odds would be 312,500,000/1 to hit a screen full of wilds.

If is has 60 symbols per reel then the odds would be 777,600,000/1

I tried out the Texas Holdem game. I won 550 from a 10 bet  I started thinking maybe the paytables are wrong because I won so easily

Snide comments aside for just a moment, is there any real interest in news about new games releases?

This is information on new products from various providers that always interests me, but perhaps I am alone in assuming this is useful to others.

If the consensus is that this sort of information is a waste of space, then I will certainly not bother posting anything further in this genre.

100% please continue to post these! Extremely useful, and great fun to read! It's appreciated

Snide comments aside for just a moment, is there any real interest in news about new games releases?

Sure we are interested.

But the description of the new MG slots are always pretty stupid.
It is utterly usless that that always write stuff like:
win up to 200000 coins
win up to 6M coins etc.

The information is pretty meaningless without the full context.
Instead they should write win up to 1000*bet size etc. Or win 6000*line bet for 5 wilds.

The information about new crypto slots are normally much better.

I would have to disagree on that - the public press releases that I have seen from most of the providers - including Cryptologic - carry pretty much the same sort of general marketing descriptions of what the themes and possibilities in the new games are, together with the expected sales hype boosting the product.

Perhaps you are seeing more specialised information not available to me, and I am of course familiar with the detailed and expert tests and gambling critiques that you perform when these games become available to the public.:notworthy

I believe that the goal of information releases on new games is a more general one that is designed primarily to notify the general playing public of what is available without going too deeply into the mechanics and odds appropriate to the game - that is a task that falls to expert critics such as yourself...a valued and respected additional benefit imo.

It is probably correct a full description of the mechanics would be too much information for the average gambler. Though this is what I would like to hear of course.

In the other hand writing like "win up to 200000 coins" is useless information because does this particular slot allow *10,*20 og *40 bet-size for each line? and the maximum bet allowed?

But I can still get some information out of the release descriptions though. (ie. a new 100 line slot etc.)

I agree with Zoozie's main premise as well as your bolded statement above but I would restate the above as follows "is designed" and planned to be deceptive to the general playing public...... (whether online or BandM)....I just love those press releases (or marquees-sp) promoting "Single Deck Blackjack" but they fail to mention BJ's pay 6 to 5 (with 3 to 2 now being a rare exception) increasing the house advantage ~ 300% to 700% depending on house rules.

I admit even if 6 to 5 was included in the press releases, promos, etc. most of the general playing public has no clue of the significance of the odds change (see prior applicable forum threads) but intent (of deception) is intent!

Hey Jet I think some just what to know now where it came from now.
ABC news,World news,CNN news etc.etc.etc.

This is an example of the sort of snide and rather malicious comment that I had hoped we could put aside in order to discuss the actual topic here. If you have no relevant input please stop trying to derail a serious discussion.

I think that is fair comment, with the exception of the intent to deceive, Nash.

I don't believe that there is any such intention in issuing informative releases on new game releases - it is rather, as I think Zoozie commented, that all the mechanics and odds calculations may be a super-abundance of information for the average slot player, and therefore superfluous in a marketing sense, where the objective is principally to announce the game's arrival and describe it in general terms.

But the point is taken that if the maximum achievable winnings are mentioned in the release without going into more detail on the odds etc, then it may be a better idea not to mention these at all.

The point I am trying to make is that imo the objective of a [marketing] release is not to provide an in-depth study of the game, but to announce its arrival and describe it in broad terms that will appeal to all players.

I do appreciate the posting of new game release information.
I realize right away that it's <insert software company here>-written marketing @#%^$#, but I still want to read what they are saying about their own games.

I'll just 'filter' it as I'm reading to remove the BS and get the information I want :D

The vast majority of casino-related marketing material that you can find on the internet is embarrassingly bad. The quality of the writing and the misleading and/or near-fraudulent claims is aggravating to say the least. :puke:

Yes, maybe a poor choice of words in respect to the fact that I used an example of "Single Deck Blackjack Paying 6 To 5" rather than simply a press release introducing a new slot. I should have transitioned my comments to what you suggest in the 3rd paragraph above (assuming you are a neutral 3rd party journalist).....If you were an employee of or a contracted PR firm representing the company releasing the slot then the intent to portray the slot by marketing only the optimal may possibly be considered as a form of misrepresentation. This is marketing and would not be unexpected for most industries and/or products......I just think gambling is easier to point a finger at as it is based on deception otherwise why do we play (or for those few just entertained) games with a known negative expectation....I think as a 3rd party journalist, you have the expertise to determine and meet your objectives such that you convey the subject press releases fairly in the best interest of all parties.... FTR, the above said, my comments that you take issue with were not directed at you personally although I can understand how one may perceive that.

Nope - I didn't perceive it that way either! I simply do not believe that the marketers at the diverse providers set out to deceive players in announcing and describing new games.

Regarding your suggestion that the media should add the sort of analytical and expert input we've been discussing here to balance the marketing content, I don't see that happening with the majority of media or the webmasters.

For example I certainly do not have the sort of statistical and odds expertise that the likes of, say, Zoozie has which would enable me to immediately analyse and dissect new games as these are announced and still maintain the immediacy of news reportage.

That field remains, as it has always done, under the expert wings of guys like the Wizard of Odds, Zoozie et al for those players who are interested in using this information to best advantage.

KK made a post and I quoted it.
You did'nt jump at him.
all I said was Maybe that's what people want to see now.
What's the BIG deal?
If KK never posted it I would never quoted it.
And this is way worse than what I said.
I thought Jetset wrote it
It doesn't say he's quoting anyone else....

And all I told you. This was not a smart @ answer towards you.

Think it is probably less symbols per reel.I had a heart stopping moment
when it dropped all wilds on reels 1,2 and 3 and 4 wilds on reel 5.
The symbols on reel 4 were rubbish and it paid around 200 on 1p 100 line
play. Nice game but free spins are few and far between and its probably best to take it and run if you get a decent wins as it can suck all straight back.

BingoT, I've already asked you to avoid derailing this thread with your personal and irrelevant personal comments. Grateful if you would oblige.

If you have something personal you want to say to me, I suggest you use the PM system.
