Dear Casinomeister and Members,

Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year.

I am here to report what I believe is a very unfair action taken against me.
I placed few accumulating financial bets on Ladbrokes which five were winning bets.
The amount is won is 1080+initial bet = 1134$.
As soon the bet was won, it remained in stall as shown in the picture and the winning weren’t paid.
So I gave a call to customer service and they said that the winning will be paid in the night (29/11/2012)
The next day I received 210 $ out of the 1134 remaining 924$ to be paid (PICTURE 1), so I waited over the weekend for the rest.
Oh and you know what is funny? While keeping in stall my winnings they took good care of removing the multi bet on the financial market, why?
On Monday I did not receive the winnings so I decided to give them a call again.
The customer representative contacted the financial department and confirmed me that one of the 15$ was wrong which was the lost one as in the picture and upon asking about the other one, she confirmed that is a winning bet and she will call back in two hours. They never called back. After few hours I decided to contact them for a second time, and they said that the bets were loosing bets and that I have lost on the Gold stock in all of them (the fifth positive symbol (PICTURE 1).
Now I would have accepted that as a computer error. However unfortunately for them I have placed a bet of the same stock 10 second apart moving in the opposite direction, the outcome would result positive and not negative if it was loosing, additionally having lost the first 15$ bet does not mean I lost the first bet placed at the opening of the market.
So I have told them that I have a print screen with the bets and it was impossible that I have lost and that a computer could not make this error over four different bets at different times.
The customer representative asked me to send the pictures of the print screen in order to prove my statement.

Never got a reply or a feedback

on the 9/12/2012, with the patience of a turtle, I phoned them back asking for the feedback of the email. The representative on the phone said that he had no email from me, which was weird because I used CC (next post) to confirm they did receive and read the same email I wrote. The representative gave a look at the bets and re-contacted the other department leaving me on hold. After 5 minutes he comes back in the line and said that they were loosing bets on Gold. The fishy/scam/lie they used on their defence was that Gold lost, however this cannot be proved as in the account statement and summary the Gold bet does not appear (PICTURE 1) so this clearly has been used as a way to excuse them and not pay.
I questioned the reliability of the software in use as the day earlier I have lost few bets by only 000.01 AND 0.00006(PICTURE 2)! So the system could give me a negative symbol on it or a DRAW (symbol)=. So how can it be possible that the system does 4 different errors while being so reliable? Computer do not fail, is the person who operates it that makes it fail.
Therefore the customer representative asked me to resend the email and that it would pass to investigation and I will be contacted within 48 hours.
You think they called me back? Not!!!

On the 19/12/2012 I have called for the result of the investigation, which was, suppose to be emailed to me. The representative checked and read the report and said: " I have looked at the 4 bets in question. For all 4, at least one of the customer’s selections lost; therefore they have been correctly settled as a loser. I have attached details of the bets". Although I did not receive these details, guess which one will turn out to be losing? OFCOURSE the Gold because I had no prove in my account summary of the numbers (PICTURE 3). This is the untrue and ridiculous because if one of the selection were lost then the others would be positive when moving in the opposite direction few seconds apart.

Therefore I gently asked to email me the investigation email.
After reviewing it, I read that they added " have reviewed the settlement prices used for all markets within the 4 bets and I can confirm that the prices used are correct as supplied by Reuters (non-FX) and CFE (FX). The settle prices can all be confirmed within the “History” section of the betting client" The price in the History section in my account is all winning except the GOLD that is missing for some reason.

On the same day I sent a complain letter stating all the dates and times I have called, how much precious time and money was lost and demanded an appeal for a new betting investigation with the intention of contacting the Gambling Commission if not proving as I provided more details of loosing. They never wrote or called me back or showed me a proof I have lost.

21/12/2012 my last email of delusion and disappointment with the company for unfairly treating me.


I wouldn't fight for something I do not deserve. But in this case, my life was ruined because of Gambling. Lost television, tablet and camera to pay debts with the intention of always trying to win back what was lost. Even if stopped playing, today on Christmas and few days from my birthday I find myself with an overdraft, which leaves me with no choice but to be alone and survive through kindness of friends.

This was a chance to put me back on track and I really deserve it!! Not only because I won and they should pay but also for all the effort I did put, the time lost, what I have been through. I do blame myself for throwing that money but I BLAME THEM for humiliation, loneliness, and procrastination and for instigating me with suicidal thoughts that I should not have, by being left with nothing.


I have nothing more to say but to ask for support and help to you.

Dear Staff,

I was not contacted like usual.
The fact is that in the account summary all the last four bets on GOLD are not visible therefore you could say as you did for the past week that I lost in Gold, however the picture prove that I did win and not lose and in addition the stock market movements were better also in the opposite direction in consequence I would have won other bets or have positive outcomes in gold .
Proved in the following picture and there is nothing much to say. If I have lost the accumulative bets in all four bets as you state then the other bets will result positive.
Please prove additional proved information which state I lost and the computer reported an error on two different closing bets.

This is a shame on respect to a company such as Ladbrokes and I will proceed reporting to all forums possible Financial Betting and Ladbrokes customer satisfaction orientation and manipulation of personal information. Additionally this goes against the protection law stating FSA (Financial Service Authority) and the Gambling Act 2005 for fair betting and exploitation.

Please provide a professional resolution as I never have been contacted back as promised and all favors are pursue against me while the picture states clear winning bets and the fact of misleading and missing information with intent of manipulation by Ladbrokes team in considering a winning a lost for any players goes against every rule.

First of all,

Welcome to the forum. Whatever you do, please dont start double threads as this will arouse confusion and more importantly dilute the replies the replies from other members. My guess is you might not get an overwhelming response because most of the members here have little knowledge of financial betting(I hope I got the term right).

I may be wrong but this is not Labrokes casino but rather Labrokes Sportsbook. The former is not exactly well-liked due to their lousy customer service but the latter has a good reputation for being honest though they have occasionally been plagued by the odd complaint against them.

I am sorry I cannot be more helpful though I hope some others will.

Sorry to hear about your predicament, firstly - It appears that you do have a case if all what you state is true, but, your OP needs condensing, scale it down so it contains what is factual about your case and remove all the surmising on your behalf, include the screenshots. Recently Ladbroke's wanted to regain their accredited status here, but iirc this didn't go down to well, with this in mind a PAB would be worthless as they will not talk to 3rd party people, I could be wrong about this so send maxd a private message for some information regarding Ladbrokes.

However, Ladbrokes are members of the GRA so contact them, and take it from there.

Recently Ladbroke's wanted to regain their accredited status here, but iirc this didn't go down to well, with this in mind a PAB would be worthless as they will not talk to 3rd party people, I could be wrong about this so send maxd a private message for some information regarding Ladbrokes.

However, Ladbrokes are members of the GRA so contact them, and take it from there.

Nifty29, I never said is Ladbrokes fault I gambled all my money and I clearly know that is my fault gambling all my money (I even said it in the post). However for your information this is not what the case is all about and they ARE making me have, a shitty Christmas! If you still cant see it…. after all the time I wasted following this case and talking to you offering me a counselling service instead.
You know what I will be doing if I will be getting paid?
1. I will buy back what I lost logically.
Is not only about money…it is about justice, honesty, responsibility, fairness, and corporation values.
So Nifty, people are different. Why do you use the term “blowing money away” when is actually spending it in here? The only reason you think I will be doing that is because you are still gambling. This case is of an unpaid winning and it is Ladbrokes fault for:
• Not paying a winning
• Manipulating Information
• Not respecting customer complaints. Feedback and satisfaction as an organisation
• Not respecting the Gambling Act of 2005
Psychologically is more personal.
So what do you suggest just forget about it because you think I have a problem?

Like I said earlier, most of us have little knowledge of financial betting so if you could take time to condense your complaint and spell them out in er laymen terms. I , for one, would be glad to add my 2c for all its worth. Alternatively, you may consider the Pitch-a-bitch service by contacting MaxD. Try to make it the last PAB of the year lol.

I think your only option is to PAB. From what u say Ladbrokes have already investigated and have said you lost. You do need to be much clearer with your problem though. I don't understand it at all.

In the first screenshot you seem to have won 4 bets totalling 880 usd...what's the problem?

I'm guessing the description field in the log database is probably cropped at 255 chararacters, so you cant see the gold closing price. The other screenshots do not seem to be from the bets in screenshot 1?

This looks rather like "day trading", but in a betting context. In effect, this is a "derivative" in financial terms, where it is the movement over 5 minutes that is being "traded", not the stocks, commodities, or incices themselves.

Nevertheless, Ladbrokes do not decide the figures, these are published by the stock exchange and commodities markets. It is therefore possible to verify whether or not Ladbrokes got it wrong in terms of the open and close values over the 5 minute periods.

If there is an error, it is likely to be one of Ladbrokes not using the correct figures. This is easy to check and prove.

The other problem is more worrying, a bet or trade has been made, but has not been recorded. This is a regulatory issue, and not a trivial one either.

It would take a forensic examination of all available logs to find evidence that there has been an error.

In this case, if they claim the bet was never made, there should also be no deduction of the stake from the player's balance, which would be a different dataset of logs. If they claim a bet was lost which was actually won, then this can be checked by looking to the closing figures and whether they are correct.

If they have removed this product, then it is clear that Ladbrokes are not 100% confident that this is a clear case of "player is wrong - case closed".

The advantage of betting on price movements, rather than "day trading" or trading directly in the derivatives, is that losses are limited to the stake. Wins are also defined by a set of odds. Day and derivative trading can produce losses greater than the amount of money a trader has on account, and this for some is a serious problem as they would be required to "settle" their trades quickly by depositing more money into their trading account.

Perhaps Ladbrokes are not the best choice for this kind of betting. There are other sites that are more focused on this type of betting, rather than trying to be a "jack of all trades" as Ladbrokes seem to be by having this under their sportsbook product.
