Has anyone else had a phone call in the past few days from Fortune Lounge about a promotion where you can win a cruise vacation? The caller explains that you have to go to the Royal Vegas site to sign up for the promo.

Not really trying to infer anything here, just wonderimg if anyone else has been contacted by phone.

Considering that thread going about Fortune Lounge affilates and spamming... :eek2:
I'd suspect that phone call was from an affiliate.
Affiliates don't have phone numbers unless you give it to them.

OK, here's my dumb blonde question of the day..........my home telephone number (don't have a "work" number) is unlisted. How would an affiliate get my home number? Before you ask, I can tell you I do not freely give out my number and don't remember giving it to any affiliate (unwise even for a blonde).

And I will post about all the emails from "123skiddo" that can't be stopped in the appropriate place. :eek2:

or somebody else does.

Why the hell do many Microgaming casinos say that Home and WORK telephone are mandatory?

I don't know where from but some idiot has sold my phone number. I am plagued by guys calling from India. Me: 'I'm busy'. He 'I'll call back later' Me: 'No, I'm not interested.' He: 'How can you not be interested, I haven't told you yet'. Me: 'I'm not interested' He: <continues talking> Me: 'Bye'.

Won't take no for an answer.

I never gave an affiliate my email address, but they still manage to spam it. :D
With places like whitepages.com around, finding a phone number is simple enough.

I pay the freaking phone company every month to NOT list my phone number. How do places like whitepages.com get it? (OK, OK, maybe I am up to two dumb blonde questions for today.................) :D

If it's unlisted, whitepages.com won't have it... but read on...

What do you use for the phone number when opening a casino account? :eek2:
As for getting your number... Ever get a telemarketing call generated by a computer? Computer dials number, gives schpeal, increments phone number by 1 and repeats. You answer the call, it grabs your number and stores it in the database that gets resold.

As Bryan says, affiliates have no access to any personal information about any player unless you give it to them.

However, if you have ever played at a Fortune Lounge casino, you likely gave them your phone in the sign up form.

My bet would be it was Fortune itself calling you - or Fortune Affiliates, which is the Fortune program that manages affiliates, they may have gotten the number from Fortune, or Slick Street, which is their advertising firm. But definitely not an affiliate him/herself.

The info just isn't available outside the company unless there is something weird going on.

It could also be that an ex-employee of ANY casino you signed up with in the past has sold your phone number and other info to an affiliate. Yours, along with who knows how many others on a list.

So despite all the anti-spam assurances the casinos give you and the statement that they never sell or rent your info to anyone, that is all BS?

Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm just doesn't seem legal.

BTW, I got an email today with the heading Rise to the Occasion and I am thinking as I click it, what's this -- some advertisement for Viagra? --

It was dirty rotten SPAM from Cirrus Casino!

Good news about Royal Vegas

Yesterday I played at Royal, deposited 25 dollars and went to thunderstruck and at 36 cents a spin got the rams and hit for 15 dollars. So I was up a little bit and decided to go to Spectacular Wheel of Wealth. I love this game but at 2 dollars a spin, can't afford to play there unless I hit, so I decided to just spin 3 times.(no lie). Third spin, I got the wheel and Honest to God, I hit the 1,000 spot on the wheel. I just about wet myself I was so happy.
Withdrew 900 and still waiting for processing, but it will be worth the wait.
I wish I could have taken a screen shot of it, but for some reason I can't do it with my windows XP. I have tried.
So it is possible for little money players to win big money at reputable casinos.
I have won money there before and always been paid.

No shit. But every once in awhile you see some jerk selling a casino's list, complete with phone numbers, home addresses, credit card info, the works. Usually an ex-employee, always an ass.

So THAT'S what that was. I deleted without opening, lol!

Fricking way to go Pete! Please let us know how the cashout process goes........you buying the drinks?;)

How about giving them a number to nearest Wal-Mart instead of your real work phone number :D

I used to get that ALL the time! So infuriating! :machinegu
Have you not signed up to TPS?
I did a few months back and these ridiculous calls have near enough completely dried up now!

The best money I ever spent was on Norton's Spam Arrest. Instead of 500+ emails in my inbox in the morning - I'll have about 20 that I'm actually going to read. I love it. You can always check your spam folder to make sure it isn't filtering out things you really want.
Now i just sign my email up where ever i want - and don't worry about it.
Before I'd do little things like capitaliza one letter in it - so that I could track who sold my address. I never did anything about it - I just wanted to know ha ha.
I think - home mortgage, then viagra, then hoodia, then gambling, and then porn were the top spams I'd get. Some of them are pretty creative too.

Thanks Suze

Well it is already in processing. Usually takes 2 to 3 days there. Should be in my neteller late today or tomorrow. I have never had a problem with them paying me, just the wait is a little long. I wrote their casino manager and expressed my opinion on their long withdrawal wait. If other casinos can do it quickly, why can't they. I think it sure wouldn't hurt their business to do so.
To bad you are in California or I would buy the drinks. ;)
My better half has been bugging me for a freezer so she can stock up for the long winter, so now I guess I might have to give in. lol
It is so nice to come here and get some positive feedback once in a while. It seems that everyone is uptight right now. I know the economy is really bad , but most of us have our health to thank God for. I have a seagull that visits outside my window and he is missing a foot.I call him George Seagull, get it,George Seagal. lol,Any way, the other day I was in a lot of pain and George came to visit and I could just hear him say to me."At least you have 2 feet" Made my pain seem trivial then.
You have a great day,and you too, Bruce. Thanks.
Pete:oops:

Great post!
We also have a one-legged seagull who's favourite spot is on the grass just outside the factory where I work. I call him 'Hoppy'.
We have one who nests on our roof at home (I live really close to the sea), and his name is Steven.
Yes that's right - Steven Seagull! :D

What happens to those birds? I too live on the coast and we often see seagulls with a foot or half a leg missing. Presumably chowed by the bigger fish?

Nice to go OT now and then!!!

THey paid me....

Yep, in less then 48 hours the money was in my neteller account. Thanks Royal Vegas. Now I have to go shopping for that freezer. DARN. only kidding.
Wow, you sure it isn't the same seagull traveling around. I never seen one with one foot before. I love the Steven Segal joke, good one.
And Hoppy too. LOL
I have geese and ducks and those dang black birds I call snake birds here that are eating our little fish. And a pair of Crows I call Alistair and Edgar.
I have way too much time on my hands.:D
You all have a wonderful day, Royal sure made mine.
Still think I am dreaming over seeing that wheel stop at $1000. I love that game.

I have a large pond and in late spring when the big fish get really active you can watch the ducks being bitten on the foot.... but - no teeth to those fish so the duck feet just get sucked on and the duck looks for a moment like it will be pulled under until the fish realizes he can't swallow a duck. :eek2:

Then I have a blue Heron who has learned to pretend to be a duck and swim among them to catch his breakfast fish. Usually the Herons just stand along the shore and fish but this one catches his stuff in a second flat.

Yep, too much time on my hands too, lol! :D
