I am rather passionate about this. It involves everyone in this industry and I want nothing less than the truth. That is why I want to post this here. There is a lot going on here. I totally believe in the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

You all decide. I will leave the links if that's ok. Just if you want to read. I just like to get everything out there in the open. I am a player and an affilate but rather embarrassed to be an affiliate right now.

Here is another. Should probably read this one first.

I need bifocals

Mojo, I've only been a member here for a short time. And in the last 9 months it seems like it's gone from bad to worse...and not just for US players. I truly think that many casinos are try to make up for lost business by gouging their remaining players (never said they were smart)

When I first came here, I thought I might become an affiliate...I've changed this goal. I see how hard the affiliates here work.

You have to have a sense of dignity at the end of the day. If casinos are going to "bolt" people over, how can you continue to endorse them?

Working in the industry you get a better picture of what goes on behind the scenes so to speak.

it is business management overall, you are giong to associate yourself with compaines that make the dollar and who will better your own personal agenda, at times you will get people that try and take the higher ground and start doing the honest thing and they will have there own group, sadly the group that is making the money will always come out on top as that's where the interest is for the money makers, not the honest side of the coin.

At the end of the day you need to weigh up money or personal integrity..

Didn't we already discuss this lose-lose affiliate forum warfare here?

Pity it's spilling over to Casinomeister.

I seem to remember commenting that it was sad to see this sort of unseemly public slug-fest, and my view hasn't changed.

Words that come immediately to mind are "unprofessional" and "distasteful" - and that's said without taking sides.

Affiliates are running businesses, however small or large, and they need to start behaving accordingly.

It's clearly a competitive arena, but that doesn't excuse this unpleasant public spectacle, which does little to enhance the manner in which affiliates are perceived imo.

Think about it - making false posts, putting up provocative polls, members slagging each other off ad nauseum.....it doesn't look good in any light.

Time for a little more maturity and self-discipline.

My 2 cents. You asked for opinions -there's one for you.

Sorry jetset. I put it here in the attic just to get some senior member thoughts. I think being open and honest is worth fighting for but it may be too much of a cost. I can't edit my post anymore to remove the links but if someone wants to feel free.

No need to edit - it's your right to post, and I merely respond with a personal view of this squabble and its carry over here at Casinomeister.

There can, in my opinion, be no real winners in this increasingly public and ugly feud.

I actually started out thinking that it was good. We could talk about things and try to improve on it. Now I am really feeling a bit ill from it. I have to stop going to the affiliate forums now for awhile. It's become unhealthy. I was hoping for a better world. Naive on my part.

The problem is I work online at home. My boyfriend does too and it's great he's here but I need the social element. For breaks I would go to the aff forums because there is usually news there and I get bored online all day! I think I have to readjust my day.

Thanks for listening.

...and then you can always kill a few lunch breaks by listening to the archives :D
Old URL

The heck with the bickering in the fora - have a few informative laughs instead :D

Just for you Mojo, I went and read ALL 18 pages....

Not much to add except that it's about money, always has been...always will be. Well, money and greed. A comment on page 18 by a poster named Arkyt pretty much summed it all up in a nutshell for me.

but as I figured from the start, it wouldnt be long before some sort of deal was struck and everything was pushed under a rug so that the principles could get back the same old same old.

It should say "lack" of priniciples. With the exception of a very few, it will just be business as usual with most of these people. Please notice I said most, not all..there's a difference.

And that's all I have to say Mojo.

I don't think anything will change either pina. Thanks for taking the time. At least there is awareness. Trying to look for a positive here.

LOL Bryan, thanks for the smile. I was feeling pretty down. I actually DO watch your utubes and wouldn't miss one. It's one of the highlights of my week. Ok, I really need to find a hobby. Yes, I'll be hanging out at CM for sure. Endless news and views here that I need.

I wonder what they fight about on say, a knitting forum.

Don't get too depressed - just screen out the pointless, malicious crap.

I'm not involved in the affiliate world, but there are a number of really professional webmasters whom I know and respect at the main feuding forums embroiled in this unfortunate episode, and I'm sure there must be a lot of very good and useful information available in addition to the dross generated by this competitive in-fighting.

It's your right to be selective.

I just want mutual respect with board leaders/members. Maybe some humor so we don't take ourselves to seriously. A place to discuss things to strive for a better industry. Active fair moderation.

Hmmm... sounds like CM!

Nothing wrong in that, now PLAYERS have a chance to see what is going on, even if they don't really understand it.

It negates all the fancy publicity that faces PLAYERS, and they get a glimpse of what is under the rug, or behind the door.

It shows the truth is that the casinos are NOT your "best friend" when they pretend to give you all those gifts and personal host attention, they are just after your money, and will do what it takes, even if this means being a shade dishonest (or downright LYING in some cases).

If PLAYERS can understand this, they will be able to gamble more responsibly, and look more closely at these "too good to be true" offers, and so called "information" sites that may well be a front for a moneygrabbing affiliate, and will exaggerate the good points, and whitewash the bad, of their chosen casinos and poker sites.

I'm one of those player/affiate folk. I was a player before I was an affiliate. I struggled with playing too much at one point and still do sometimes.

It was difficult when I first joined for someone like me to co-exist here as some of you may remember. I actually wrote Bryan that I made a mistake joining. However, I like that we can all learn something from each other. There are bad affiliates, players, casinos, software providers, you name it. My feeling is that anyone willing to listen and grow together can really benefit from each other.

What I've recently come to realize, or I should say pay attention to, is that affiliates are big business as well, much like players. The forums that are involved in this mess all have one thing in common, they are vieing for affiliates. Affiliates really never had a voice, until now. So I guess you could say this is our stand, for what it's worth. It has now evolved into having an arbitration panel for affiliates who are being mistreated at forums. There are the pros and cons to that as well. It's a major struggle in any case.

This whole industry is a major stuggle LOL! I was presenting another honest but stark side here for anyone who cared to read.
