That is great. Distract yourself all weekend. I am so looking for positives for you. I have way too many people dealing with this right now. So many in the past. I include a brother and a sister who are dealing with the uncertainty of this right now.

Your right it has, I'm trying not to panic because it's the end of the month next week. But the reality is, that its the end of the month for everyone. I don't know what to do. I have been exploring all my options the last few days. I did my income tax today and took a huge loss, but all that did was put me in a different bracket. At least I will get some money next year. Lesson for everyone. Always put a little away. I'm tired and feel like crap today, and going to bed soon. I know your an atheist, but I will pray that your siblings get better. I went to one Casino that I played at faithfully for 10 years, and they shall remain nameless, but their response was if we gave to everyone we would be broke, Its gone beyond dead. Three visits all weekend it says. . I see my Surgeon for final visit Wed, My chemo starts on the 18th. And on the 13th I have a nurse coming in to teach me how to give myself needles. This should be fun, I have shaky hands. But I have to give myself a needle everyday , 5 days before treatments, to boost my t cells. Ughhh. Im going to go try and sleep.

Dont get me wrong, but I would have done it for nothing if I could have done.

Unfortunatley, for the last 6 weeks of her life, she had to go into a care home, which probably would have cost £700+ a week.

She had three different courses of Chemo and one course of radiotherapy.
The radiotherapy ended up being the best course of treatment as it stopped the growth for over 18 months.

The tumour was inoperable because of where it was positioned in the brain, trying to remove it would have been a 95% chance of paralysis.

As I said, dont get me wrong as yours is different and is very beatable

I ended up raising just over £2150 for a brain tumour charity.
Some was raised on Casinomeister in a quiz which Dunover hosted and some casinos generously donated prizes, I came joint first IIRC but came second in a tie break draw.

Thanks. I am very sorry to hear about your wife. Life can be cruel. Mine is an aggressive form, I am her2 positive. I have looked everywhere online. I found one that might help but I am waiting for my assesment papers from Revenue Canada, and since its Tax time that can take a while. And congrats on being able to raise.

So today I am going over my paperwork, getting ready for everything. One of the things I have to do pre chemo is a needle called Neulasta, this is to boost my tcells up so I don't get secondary infections. Well because we all know what chemo does. Check this out......

I was given a phone number to call " The Victory" program, and they will only help if you have private insurance ( they will pick up some of the cost).
The cost of this you may ask? 3500.00. I don't know whether to laugh, cry, scream. Seriously what do other patients do? Cancer has to be the biggest money making piece of crap I ever heard of!

I don't know if you can travel but at least here in the USA they provide treatment and help. My brother past last Easter of stage 4 lung cancer. He was a Vet and they helped him a lot. I hope things work out. You are in my thoughts.

Thanks. I just want this nightmare to be over! I called the city to see if they can help. Just plain crazy. Do they want the poor to die? I can't go on Disability because by the time I am approved my treatments will be over and hopefully back to work.

I called the pharmacy and the Oncology Nurse. The pharmacist suggested the Oncologist and the Onc Nurse gave me Victory's phone number. I called OW this aft, and waiting to hear back from the worker. My day started off alright, was NOT expecting this. I asked about getting the shots in the Hospital and she said it has to be done 5 days before treatment. I really hate this hospital. They seem like money grubers! I asked for counseling through the centre and you have to pay for it. Really? Her words were its available depending on your income. So my family doctor said she was going to try and find me something. I see her on Friday. Deep breath. Thanks Jass. You have been my pillar. I will contact the manufacturer tomorrow.

I spent all night digging around. First one. The manufacturer Of Neulasta? They are the ones that offer the Victory Program. I didnt notice until I read the back of the booklet my Oncologist gave me on it, and its in the small print. When I went to the first appointment, it was very overwhelming, getting my results, what it meant and treatment plan all at once. They even wanted to put my pic in that day. I had papers shoved at me, and I remember him saying that I would need 5 injections, one a day. 5 days before treatment. He would call my pharmacy. I thought was the Neulasta ( still not sure) because that was the booklet he gave me.
Secondly. I found another one called Neupogen. This one isnt covered unless by extraordinary cases and its through Long Term Care. This is copied from their website. To much info, about other drugs so I just copied and pasted .....Effective date February 25, 2016

He mentioned a program called the trillium drug fund for people who can't afford meds when undergoing treatment. dont know how it works....there is a cost to it....but might be better than paying for all the meds you need....or maybe you have looked into it....anyway....

Wow, that is crazy. I was thinking about you last night, and wondering where you have been. And this morning I was with my pharmacy getting help with filling out the forms for exactly that! I check my email when I got back and here you are I also went to the local disability office to get the package for disability. Apparently they cover a whole lot of stuff under their drug card. I have to fill out a portion, then get Princess Margaret to fill out the rest. It will take a while I am sure, but its like Jassy said. I could get back pay. They told me that it could take up to a year, and it use to take 2 years for approval How are you doing, and thank you!

Hi everyone, just posting an update. I have been in " getting things done" mode, while I am still able. I just wanted to give a heads up. My internet and phone is being disconnected Thursday, as I have been unable to keep up with the payments. I have found a new provider that didnt require money up front, but unfortunately it will take 10 business days for it to be up and running. So I wont be around. It will make things tricky for appointments, but it will be doable. I am still waiting to here from Princess Margaret Hospital as when I can see them, and get the ball rolling for tests and treatments. I have forward all calls to my neighbor. I want to thank everyone, and I mean everyone who has been part of this journey with me.

Just yesterday the Princess Margaret hospital of Hongkong made a big blunder. Hopefully the hospital with the same name in your country will do better. Provide us with updates whenever possible.

It doesnt matter. My surgeon got a letter from them today, and " due to the amount of patients and referrals they receive, they have had to set criteria from whom the accept. This includes demographics, type and stage of Cancer" blah blah blah blah. They will not take me on as a patient. To say I am frustrated and upset right now, would be putting it mildly. I do not trust the centre here. It is not me being a difficult patient. The oncologist here would not order very important tests to make sure I will be safe. I went to my family Doctor and she wouldn't because she doesnt know what tests are needed. I am not a Doctor but I know. I am not healthy right now, I am severely underweight ( Jazzy can vouch for me. I sent her a picture of me that my daughter took after the surgery, she ( my daughter)wanted a picture of me being blue from the dye) I'm trying so hard to get my weight back up.
Oncologist: I would order heart test, but I think you will be fine.
Me: Wtf?
Me: Can I have a full Mastectomy?
Oncologist: No
Me: Radiation?
Oncologist: No
Me: All my lymph nodes removed? ( now I am just playing him because I think he is an idiot)

Oncologist nurse comes rushing in and starts taking blood from my right arm. I'm telling this nurse she cant take from that arm because I will get lymphdimeia. You cant do blood pressure or blood tests from that arm, that is where my lymph nodes were removed. She still keeps on taking blood and then wants to put a pic in the same arm! No counseling offered even though its an aggressive type. No help where I can go for funding. The same hospital that admited that they saw the tumor back in August in my mammogram, but chose to not tell me and keep an eye on it instead! Only did something when I, ME, found the lump in November. The SAME hospital that was under Provincial investigation Feb 27th. I am scared!

Im writing up a long letter, dating from the mammo screw ups in August, right up till now. I have documented everything. When I am done, it will go to the Hospitals CEO, Minister of Health, local newspapers. I need to get in for treatment, I need that needle, I need for radiation to at least start. Hi everyone. Yesterday I was feeling pretty crappy, broke and no family here for Easter. Last night I had 25 free spins on my favorite slot Gemix from VS so I played it. Today i hit 758.00 on a 50 cent spin! So I cashed out. I also have a retro active cheque for dietary allowance showing up in my bank account Tuesday. With the combination of the two, I can close my GoFund me account. I want to thank EVERYONE, who donated, and listened to me. And I want to thank Bryan for allowing this. I meet with my surgeon again on the 24th. Apparently in the turndown letter from Princess Margaret Hospital, there is a list of other centres. My guess is I will be sent to Hamilton. Again thank you <3

They called me yesterday. The oncologist nurse Kelly sounds really nice I will have 33 treatments of radiation, everyday Monday-Friday. My first appointment is April 26th, I will meet the radiation oncologist and my team. Measured and tattooed. As far as chemo goes, they will wait until my bone scan on the 27th is done to see if its needed. Each radiation will take about 10 min so I sent a request in to go back to work part time on May 1st. I can't believe 3 months have past since this all has started and in 3 months I can start paying into my benefits

I think it's a good idea if you can work through your radiation sessions. It will keep your mind of things. It gets tough at end cuz radiation effects are cumulative. But it's mostly tiredness. So please be careful. It will be ok. And you will be too. Just breathe.

Just a bit of an update. I met my team yesterday. The radiation Oncologist is very funny and down to earth. I was " sized" twisted and turned, tattooed , my first and its on my breast The room I will be in is very creepy but they have mics. This morning I went for my shot and have to go back at 12:00 for bone scan. And I start back to work part time Monday, but a different department. YAYYY! So starting radiation Monday and work Hope everyone is doing good. I am also gaining a bit of weight finally. When I get looking a bit better I will post the pic of me after surgery that Jazzy saw and now. See the difference Thanks for being there guys <3

So I said I would post pictures. The first one ( excuse my attire) is quite shocking! My daughter took it a couple of hours after I got home from surgery, she wanted me to see how bad I looked. It took 3 people to get me in the house that day. I know it looks like I have no teeth, but I do That was on Feb 28th. My son is home and took the second one yesterday. Two months later! I cut my hair and put it back to its normal colour, just a wee bit darker.

The blue tinge to me is from the nuclear dye they inject you with to find your lymph nodes.

Thanks. I'm training and only a few hours a day. Its been actually very over whelming, Im exhausted from the radiation and trying tp pay attention in training plus working on the website. My days are turning into 16 hour days. So basically I am back where I was before I knew I was sick, and that isn't a good thing. How have you been?

Hi Jen. I'm good thanks. I have completed all of my latest tests and procedures thankfully so now I am just waiting until the 16th to see my surgeon
Hows the book getting on?
